Activation problem, second installation

It s simple enough.

I bought a copy of the sale at retail of Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit back on 2007 and have been using it until recently, I bought Windows 7 64' bit and installed on my computer a few days ago.

I've pretty much dumped Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit to Windows 7 64 bit

Now I install the same copy of Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit on a computer that has used to have Windows XP Professional,

When I try to activate, it tells me that this "the product key you entered is already in use.

IT IS NOT IN USE! my new computer has Windows 7 64 bit, no one else using this license.

That's how frustrating.

Hello DanielSalazar,

What you see is normal. The product key is in use, you use it. What you need to 0 is to go through the activation of the phone and then wait for a 'real' person answering your call.

See this link from my Web site: http://vistasupport.mvps.org/product_key_already_in_use.htm

Once you get to talk to the 'real' person, they can solve your problem and turn on your system.

PS: If the copy of Windows from a machine using an OEM version (in other words, it was pre-installed on this PC when you bought it) so you can not install on another machine. OEM copies are linked to the original machine.

    Hi tryagain.
-for your first problem (hard drive size), try a 160 GB drive, it should work (your current drive is a 60 GB?) but also 320 GB should work
in my possession, I found if a 60 GB HDD runs on a larger controller also works...
-for the second (installation of win), you can avoid activating windows again by cloning your system on new hard drive
There are tools available free clone that you can use
-for the last one (manual for old Toshibas) there is a point 'archive' choose in the download area where 'real old' operating manuals can be downloaded,
but I think you're looking for more information to dismantle your machine - I can't find anything like that also...
but good! No not guaranteed - no a cry... for your 430 ;-)

    Hi Verisetti,

Have you installed security software after formatting windows?

If so, you can uninstall the security software temporarily and check if you receive the access violation error.

If the uninstallation of security software solves the problem, you may need to configure the settings of the software of safety accordingly. Please contact the software vendor for assistance in this regard.

Note: Make sure that you install the security software after the trial.

    Hello PirateBarnabas,

My first tip would be to backup or another move all data that you had in the second install in the first or the machine off.

Once this has been done, there should be no attachment to what anyone in this facility.

It can be deleted and edited in the boot.ini file.

Today, I installed and activated the thenI installed FSX acceleration. When I started to FSX, asked me to activate again. I don't want to use the second key.

FSX Acceleration has a separate activation code and must be activated also. Make sure that, if you use it for private lessons of drivers to install also the scenario generator, otherwise it is not necessary.

  • Activation problem after build self repair

Just had to replace my motherboard (and, therefore, the processor and RAM). On the initial start-up after reconstruction windows said that there was significant changes to the system and required wake-up. Windows does not accept my product key. What has changed are the processor, RAM and motherboard. Hard drive is still the original that I have installed XP on to. Advice please

The change of motherboard is which has activation problem. If you have an OEM version of Windows XP that is preinstalled, so you will not be able to activate as all OEM versions are linked to the first computer / motherboard, it is installed on. However if you have a "Full" version of the retail try then the phone activation.

Thanks for posting the request in the Microsoft Community.

If you receive an error indicating that your product key is not valid when installing Windows 7, it could be for the following reasons:

    a. you can did your product key. Try having to retype.

    b. you may use a product key that does not match the version of Windows Vista that is installed on your computer. Check the product key to ensure that it is for the version that you are trying to activate.

  • With several user accounts activation problems

I'm activation problems on my iMac family. I have subscription CC photography that I use on my Mac work, and my wife has the full subscription of CC, she uses on his mac to work. We now have an iMac shared with accounts of different users for each of us. We continue however, getting errors with creative sign-in cloud. It seems that the inscription to CC on my mac account sign my wife out and vice versa. If we try to connect to CC on both accounts Mac with the same user Adobe CC, CC sees each account two separate computers and we have exceeded the activation limit. Any advice?

As far as I know, you can't have two activations open at the same time on a single computer... you MUST sign for it to connect and vice versa to be able to use your account
