It is used to clone the context file (for example, when you implement system of shared application files and to add more nodes of level application, or when you migrate from any OS for Linux/Unix, or when you want to retrieve a lost application context file, or when you want to change the name of host/domain name).

I put implement R12 Configuration in a DMZ. We already have an existing instance of R12. Following Doc ID 380490.1 to implement the same, have chosen to proceed with option 2.4 that is to say, "with the help of Reverse Proxies only in the DMZ.

My confusion is, how to start?
Will I first clone web layer first, and then run adclonectx.pl?

In this scenario, there is no cloning of any level.
You just create a new directory in the $INST_TOP on the server exist for the web virtually outer layer.
but I found a lot of weird stuff inside the target context_file (/ p01/oracle/PRODHR/inst/apps/PRODHR_prohcms1/appl/admin/PRODHR_prohcms1.xml) is generated by this step No 5.
The strange thing is a lot of setting e.g. JDK_TOP pointing to /tmp//tech_st/10.1.3/jdk and not /p01/oracle/PRODHR/apps/tech_st/10.1.3/jdk and many other parameters. Yes, before do not step No 6, I edited the file context targeted and correct first all the oddity as / tmp.

According to step 7, I think that this, because AF_JRE_TOP and JRE_TOP point to 10.1.2 whereas it should be 10.1.3
Is there something wrong with adconfig.pl?

I'm still not very clear. Suppose that my context file is lost. According to metalink note I should use adclonectx.pl to retrieve the context on db file. Why can't I use adbldxml.pl to recover my lost files of context? SIM card if I create the file context for the 1st time so why I can't use adclonectx.pl?
Use 'recover adclonectx.pl' to recreate the application context file. For reconstruction/recreate the context of database file you can either use adbldxml.pl or 'adclonectx.pl recover. "

You should be able to use it. However, according to the Oracle docs support is to clone the main node and add more nodes by cloning the context files.

The script finished without error. Then I asked the table Options in the profile (fnd_profile_options) and found that several values of SITE level value (for example ICX_FORMS_LAUNCHER) APP2, which I expect. I read that to complete the configuration, I had to run adautocfg.sh in APP1. After you run the auto config in APP1, the level of site profile values changed App1 APP2. Is it the way it is supposed to work? If this is the case, there cannot be a single server applications available at the same time?

We mainly use scripts apps services on/off switch which is located under $INST_TOP (in R12) available. For the pl, sh etc are necessary for the maintenance of the application layer. I belive there is no specific docs that describe what these scripts you want. So I belive that you check below the docs I could find information on these scripts.

(2) I'm confused in this step-> according to oracle we should share file sytem and running addnode command on the application node to add services on this node? Instead it after that file sharing is over we run postclone and say install these services on this node, then this won't work?
3) what I need to run preclone on DBnode before adaddnode, we run? According to the metalinkdoc 384248.1

If we want to change the port pool after cloning of layers of DB and Apps, what is the best way to do... A single method, I know, i.e run the preclone on the target system and run config clone again once on the same target on both system layer of database and Application layer and change the pool of port...

Here I have doubt, how come new context file will be created with the new host name, since it has not changed hostname at the level of the bone at this stage or before this step? AutoConfig will be CNET, because the Hostname of the Machine is different, because we change the hostname in the last step before

In step 2, you run "perl adclonectx.pl" command. This script is used to clone your context file (i.e. generate a new), and it will ask you to enter the new host name. Once completed, you will have two files of context in the directory $APPL_TOP/admin:
(1) _ .xml (2) _ .xml
When you run the AutoConfig (step 4), you must provide the context new file generated (i.e. _.xml), and the model topology net services (which is clean, because we have already served there) will be filled with the new host name.
