Oracle EBS Solaris to Linux migration.

Clone the context of Applications on the target system file as follows,

a. create a pairsfile (text file) with the following values:

s_systemname = [SID]

s_dbSid = [SID]

s_jdktop = [JDK_HOME]

s_jretop = [JDK_HOME]

(b) generate the context of system target file:

CD [COMMON_TOP] / clone/bin

Migrating Perl adclonectx.pl.

Java = [JDK_HOME].

pairsfile = [pairsfile].

contextfile = [context file Source Applications]

But the context on the system file target contains an invalid as path below.

  • Database Oracle from Windows to Linux migration

    Hey guys,.

    I'm database oracle 11g R2 in Windows 7 migration to Red hat 5 (64-bit) Linux using RMAN by transport.sql file. I installed Oracle 11 g R2 on the two system.

    But the problem is that my data files are scattered in different locations (I mean that all are not in the same directory) and I did not have enough space to all copy in the same directory. Can someone tell me how I'm supposed to write several locations as value the NAME of FILE DB CONVERT parameter when creating transport using RMAN script, I know the command for a directory only.

    RMAN > Convert the new database database linuxdb

    script of transport for "C:\test\transport.sql."

    db_file_name_convert 'C:\oracle\oradata\orcl\' "C:\test".

    the platform "Linux IA < 32 bit >";

    This command allows to convert all the files in the database that resides in the orcl directory and place them in the test directory. But in my case, all the files are not in the directory orcl

    and I can't copy other files in there because I don't have enough space on the entire system.

    I can't create transport script several times because it is incorrect.

    I appreciate your thoughts and suggestions.

    You can specify as many pairs of directories as needed

    db_file_name_convert = ('/ u01/ora/files ' ' / u02/ora/files ' ' / u01/ora/file9 ' ' / u02/ora/file9 ')

  • The EBS R12 upgrade and solaris to linux in a one-way migration?

    Hi all, first post on this forum so bear with me.

    I plan on spending 11.5.10.2 Solaris (sparc) 64-bit EBS EBS R12 on RHEL 5 x 86-64 a and would like to know if I can make in a shot that is the migration and upgrade in one step or I need to go to R12 first and then migrate first and then upgrade or migrate.

    I understand the stages of migration and upgrade, but have not seen any documentation to support on the combination of them, someone does that?

    Thanks in advance
    Jeremy

    Hello

    You can upgrade the application in the Solaris to R12 box then migrate the R12 to Linux application (since your target OS is 64-bit Linux, please note that you can not migrate the 11i application as 64-bit operating system is accredited as a layer of database for the Oracle 11i applications only).

    To install R12 11i, please see:

  • After migration from Solaris to Linux reports do not work properly

    Oracle e-Business 11.5.10.2 - seeds pdf reports

    Some do not run giving error:

    EMSG: led by Signal 11

    Others work but are formatted incorrectly.

    Background:

    Migrated from solaris to linux. -11.2.0.4 database.  Upgrade from Solaris to dev 6i group patch 28 - everything works.

    On linux, install techstack then switch to dev 6i patchset28 also.

    I checked the support and apply a hotfix that was a possible fix-

    Bugs: 5232832 - APPS6: BLANKS INSERTED IN the CHARACTER MODE OUTPUT

    subsequently found out that it's just for the report of the bitmap.

    Check all the notes I've found, but nothing seems to apply.

    My character set is the same on Solaris and Linux-

    US7ASCII NLS_CHARACTERSET

    NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET AL16UTF16

    Anyone have any ideas? Thank you!

    11 signal problem is resolved as follows:

    The reporting engine, on the Linux server upgraded, is not able to parse an sql validation using a table via dblink only at a specific location in the report. There are several other places in the report where it is able to analyze the same sql, it is so inconsistent and there is no error message relevant to this effect. The solution has been applied through rewriting of these validations to validate within the EBS itself and therefore, the functionality remains unchanged.

    Formatting problem was solved by re copy the rdf from the source in binary mode.  Something must have happened to the file to archive original, OR a nobody messed with the report on the target of unknown to me!

    Also, I set up printing blocks and drivers for the system and styles, so maybe it was a combination of the two actions.

    Thank you for all your help.

    No, it is not possible, the clone requirement is the source and target must be compatible to the binary format.

  • 11i Migration from Solaris to Linux - utilities AD does not

    Hi Experts,

    After the migration of the application layer (11.5.10.2) of Solaris 10 for Linux 5 (32-bit) make error when running the utility of AD.

    adpatch: cannot execute binary file
    ADadmin: cannot execute binary file.

    I'm after the MOS notes 238276.1 and everything was smooth until Chapter 2, step 6. But when I need to apply the customer specific patch, I got to know that none of the utility work AD and all of them throw same error cannot execute the binary file.

    Once I left the appl Solaris to Linux directory, I transferred in binary mode.

    Looking forward for your valuable suggestions please.

    Thank you
    Shashi

    Good to hear that the problem is now solved.

    And, you're welcome!

  • How to get my version of Oracle EBS (Linux)

    Hello

    do you know how to get the version of Oracle EBS (Linux)?

    Thank you!

    OK, now I'm confused...

    cat/etc/redhat-release for the linux version.

    httpd-version to the version of Apache.

    For the version of the application, you can get that from the database. You can get help or request fnd_product_groups-> on the page.

  • AIX to Linux migration path

    Hi Hussein.

    I want to migrate our form of 11i EBS AIX OEL.
    Can you give me Notes on how to do this?

    Source:
    AIX = 5.3
    DB = 10.2.4.0
    EBS = 11.5.10.2

    Target:
    OEL = 5.8 or 6.3 (x 86 or x86_64?)
    DB = 10.2.0.4 or do I put?
    EBS = 11.5.10.2 (us improve not now)

    Note: 557738.1 - process of Import/Export for Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i with Oracle Database 11g Release1 or 2

    My Questions are
    1. can you 11i migrate OEL 6.3?
    2. can you 11i migrate OEL in x86_64 version?
    3. can you 11i migrate to other linux(RedHat/CentOS)?
    4 What Tier(App/DB) migrate first?
    5. can I migrate DB (10.2.0.4) DB (11.2.0.3) in the target directly, or I have to migrate to the same version of db, then upgrade to 11.2.0.3?

    Thank you very much.

    Hi Nick,

    I want to migrate our form of 11i EBS AIX OEL.
    Can you give me Notes on how to do this?

    I see that you already have the docs :)

    Source:
    AIX = 5.3
    DB = 10.2.4.0
    EBS = 11.5.10.2

    Target:

    My Questions are
    1. can you 11i migrate OEL 6.3?

    Oracle EBS is not certified on OEL 6.x

    2. can you 11i migrate OEL in x86_64 version?

    Yes for the database layer node, but not for the application tier node which must stay on 32 bits - frequently asked Questions: Oracle E-Business Suite Support on x 86-64 [343917.1 ID]

    3. can you 11i migrate to other linux(RedHat/CentOS)?

    Yes for Redhat - please check the Certification Matrix in the site Web of MOS.

    4 What Tier(App/DB) migrate first?

    Or the other. I recommend the crux of layer of database (10g, and 11g import export) migration.

    5. can I migrate DB (10.2.0.4) DB (11.2.0.3) in the target directly, or I have to migrate to the same version of db, then upgrade to 11.2.0.3?

    You can migrate to 10g and 11g

    6 should. what I do?
