  My DL580 G3 currently has 130GB of usable with a RAID 5 configuration space. 3 x 72 GB disks.  I intend to add a fourth Ultra 320 SCSI 10 K 72 GB for additional local storage.

  The DL580 has a Smart Array 6i controller. When I boot the DL580 I see no option of RAID as an Array Configuration Utility configuration. This box came to me with the already configured RAID5 array.

  Would I be able to add a new disk using a Smart boot CD that ACU to extend the RAID 5 set? If Yes, what version of SmartStart?  I did not see one for ESXi or ESX on the site Web of HPs. is there another method that I need to use to expand the RAID5?

  If you do not see the utility of configuration of the adapter for the POST/BIOS screens? Pressing F8 does not work either?

  You should have received a Smart boot boot CD with and in most cases, the Raid configuration is possible with this Smart Start.

  If nothing happens, you could build a UBCD4Win and integrate HP Array. I did it for a Smart Array e200i, but only the cmdline versions works well. The GUI version has some limitations on the display of pop-up windows.

  You must save / move your guests as there is no migration of the vmfs online!

  Open the custom in your JDeveloper page, add a new item of type submitButton on this page.

  Then grab this key event in the controller class attached to this page and write the plsql procedure call logic.

• Can't see vmdk file when you add a new hard drive to an existing vm

  I'm trying to attach a vmdk file that was recovered from a backup as a new hard drive to an existing test VM (version of the vsphere 4.0 client). I was able to successfully download the file in the data store but it is not available to select when I try to add a hard drive, on an existing virtual machine. The vmdk file has been recovered from a backup server no idea why I can't see it would be very appreciated

  Something does not fit here.

  Since the file names "...-0000003..." this seems to be a delta (snapshot) rather than a virtual disk of dish (base)! Thanks for posting (tie) the hard header file to see how it looks like and to know what lack us.

  I have a variety of iSCSI LUNS, and range in size from 500 GB to 1 TB. I've added databases on appropriate LUNS and they were put into shape with a block size of 8 MB he. The problem I encounter is that I can't create a new disk for any computer virtual size of disc more than 256 GB. No clue as to why this is happening? I've recently updated my ESX host with the update package now, cordially.

  One of our clients is to have Oracle 10 g RAC + ASM + Data Guard. Database is the disk DATA_DG1 group and FRA is on FLASH_DG1. Data Guard is a single instance on ASM.
  
  To add more space, we can create another disc of the Group DATA_DG2 on Prod ASM and Data Guard ASM env, replication continues without any problem. Will be archiving logs shipped to the second disk DATA_DG2 group and applied without any configuration changes?

  Yes, it sounds great.

  You should be fine with the implementation of these measures and the dataguard should continue on as usual.

  Just make sure that you are dealing with a physical standby that has not the conerts file name defined.

  I am very new to just skyline view installed a connection to the server and a host RDS and get Desktop + applications works very well. Now, I want to add another RDS server farm from the view I created, but I can't seem to figure out how to do this. In the Horizon view administrator GUI doesn't offer this?

  
  It is 6.1.

  It's very simple.

  First you prepare the new RDSH agent by installing the agent on the servers needed<-- now="" you="" will="" have="" rdsh="" agents="" ready="" for="">

  Now the connection to view administrator, stock left, click farms

  Select the form in which you want to add an another RDSH servers

  Click on the tab "RDS Hosts" the click Add

• Add the existing vmfs partition

  We have a Dell PowerVault MD3000 that is connected to our ESXi host.  On the MD3000 are 3 virtual drives, which are assigned to the virtual machines children on the ESXi host.  This morning, I tried to start one of the virtual machines, and it will not start, EHF checked settings and see that the file of the disk on the MD3000 is not available.  If I go into the tab Configuration & gt; Storage, I see that 2 of the 3 virtual drives are not there, if I go to add storage... & gt; Disk / LUN, he finds the 2 virtual drives, but to add in ESX, he wants to get in shape again.

  The two vds have data on them, so this isn't an option.  How can I add them back again without formatting?

  I have a HP ProLiant ML350 G6 in the HDD rack before I have some unused slots and I want to fill them with some news readers. How do I do that? I do not have a "cage" where to put a standard 3.5 "drive, so I wonder if I need to buy the whole cage + reader package.

  No, you need not bring down the ASM or DB

  Yes, you can add the disk, ASM automatically rebalance and share the workload on the new disk.

  In ESXi 4.1 using a dSwitch, if I add a NEW port group using a VLAN that is not in use (on this dSwitch), that will force any failure to migrate it virtual machines on this dSwitch?

  Adding this new group of port causes the dSwitch "reset" in a manner that will cause the failure?

  You should be able to add, modify and/or delete groups of ports without affecting other groups/VMs port connected to other port groups. Just follow the steps in http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1010593
