• Mapping of several physical network adapters to virtual network adapters

  Hi all

  I am wanting to know how to combine physical network adapters to virtual nics in Vsphere 4.1. I have a gateway virtualized device that supports multiple WAN connections and balancing on these connections. The bridge is all authentication PPPoE/A, so I need to have separate cards for each PPP connection. So, how can I connect a physical NETWORK adapter to a virtual NETWORK adapter and have all access the same VM virtual NIC?

  Right-click on the virtual machine, and then select change settings. On the Hardware tab, click Add, and then add the virtual NICs that you will need.  On the network connection screen, you will be able to select a network label which corresponds to VM port groups you created.

• Error adding the USB controller to the virtual computer

  Recently, I tried to add a USB controller to a virtual computer and received the following error:

  "There are not enough licenses to complete this operation. "Feature hotplug not approved, requires the need have have.

  Not very good grammar, but I guess I need to buy a license of some sort.  Does anyone know what license it takes and/or about how much it costs?  Otherwise, anyone know who I should ask?

  You use the free license - it allows not hot add hardware to a virtual computer, so you must re-enable it off before adding hardware to it.

  When you connect to FaceTime or Messages on another device, another peripheral other device using this same ID will get the message that has been signed to. Some iOS (and OSX) update log for other devices will get the message when that happens.

  I wrote my application and everything worked very well in the Simulator. Then I got to know that the 8520 does not support GPS and I developed all the time to the 8530 because I thought the people here have the 8530, but they are not, but I think that this is not a problem because of the located to get the location of the cell site towers using.

  I use JRE 4.6.1 instead of use the JRE 6.0 for the case that everyone will have the same problem in only once.

• How to remove the SQLite DB in physical device using Oracle_MAF?

  I'm developing a mobile application using Oracle-MAF, I made some changes on the table in Oracle DB, then changed my WebService existing and also made corresponding changes to the persistence - mapping.xml and DB_NAME.sql in the implementation of the MAF. But every time I try to deploy it in the physical device (Android), changes does ' t affect the newly deployed application.

  Please note that I tried to uninstall via the settings app still persist the same question. Can you please suggest me to remove full SQLite DB on the device so that the changes can reflect on the unit.

  Thanks for your reply, the problem has been fixed. Please look below the changes I did created DB then new webservice and implementation of the MAF.

  Sample:

  • Earlier, TABLE_ONE (column - EMP_ID, ROLE_ID) as the primary key and the constraint name as TABLE_ONES_PK.
  • Now, I've changed (column - EMP_ID, FILE_ID) as a key name and primary constraint as TABLE_ONE_PK

  If you have seen clearly the constraint name went from ... THOSE... in ... ... A, when I try to insert a duplicate value (EMP_ID and ROLE_ID) with FILE_ID unique he throws a java.sql.SQLIntegrityConstraintViolation Exception. In additional it's show error violated primary key as TABLE_ONES_PK nota_PK TABLE_.

  The problem exists in DB, I deleted the constraint _PK TABLE_THOSEbut Iindex was not deleted from the DB. This is the reason why it shows SQLIntegrityConstraintViolation error, I removed and now it works very well without any problems.

• How to connect 2 physical computers and 2 virtual machines?

  This is my first time in the forum and I would like to ask about the network configuration for an installation of 2 physical machines and 2 virtual machines. Each physical computer has a virtual machine (all operating systems is Windows 7 or 8). I don't have a level of advanced network management, but I would like to ask how to resolve a case of example of this configuration? I was wondering for communication between machines and communication examining between 1 machine with the other 3.

  VMware Player offers 3 configuration settings, bridged, NAT as well under the name Host-Only network. Host-Only can be used if the virtual machine does not require a connection with the exception of the other virtual machines and the host network. NAT is typically used if the virtual machine requires network access, but didn't need to be accessible to the outside. In your case, the possibility of using is connected by a bridge, which will connect seamlessly the virtual machine to the physical network.

• New server ESXi 5.5 - How do I know what my score /scratch physical device is on?

  But unfortunately, it is not described how to match the UUID to a physical device.

  For example, our server has two cards SD with ESXi embedded installed and a RAID 1 of the 2 SATA drives.

  My boss asked me to make sure that the /scratch location is set to the spinning disks, rather than SD cards.

  I can see what VMFS/volume/my /scratch up to, but I have no idea if this volume is on the SD card or the RAID 1 spinning disk.

  I can't find a command that lists each UUID on each physical disk.

  It does not help that I'm not much more than a linux guru. =/

• Mobile Directory oracle to different physical devices causes a fatal error

  I moved the folder integer oracle (in my case, it includes all oracle related files: directory of executables and 'oradata') to a different physical device. After mounting the new physical location even device of the directory, oracle starts but does not give me later ' ksedmp: internal or fatal error ' and ' ORA-00600: internal error code.

  (About the steps that I followed)

  -closing of the database (completely /etc/init.d/oracle stop - all processes have disappeared)

  -copy the directory structure (from / dev/hda1 to/dev/hdc1)-files at this location are identical after the copy

  -replace the/dev/hdc1 at the same place (/ home/oracle)

  -Start oracle

  -the DB starts and works of a great extend but trace and log alerts present FRAME of stack/trace dumps and unpleasant mistakes

  -Oracle version: 10.2.0

  I checked the size of the physical block on both devices (using/dev/hdc1 dumpe2fs | grep-i "s block") and it's different: 1024 on hda1 and hdc1 on 4096

  Issues related to the:

  -is the above mentioned block size the reason things don't work? If so, is there an easy solution?

  -If not, so what's the problem?

  -Yes, I know that I can export the entire database and re-import them on a different device, but thought I should be able to skip this step if I simply want to swap hard drives

  I wouldn't be so sure that you reproduced successfully your devices. Are you using symbolic links? If so, that you converted symlinks to files they point out (source). You should be able to reproduce two complete directories using cp - av, however, I prefer to use the following, assuming that you mount the new drive under/mnt/hdc1 and that you want to copy everything under/U01, so you can later mount/dev/hdc1 under/U01:

  mkdir Pei/mnt/hdc1

  mount/dev/hdc1/mnt/hdc1

  CD/U01

  tar - cf-. | (cd/mnt/hdc1; tar - xf - sync)

  To the subject of one, it isn't not possible with a tool as the tools just prepare the operating system to run on virtual hardware. But it does not work tpuch applications running on the machine. If you want to migrate multiple servers in a single, you P2V one of them and reinstall the applications of other servers on this machine.

  If you want to reach it, yes it is possible with VMware Converter.

• RAW device to the virtual disk migration

  When trying to cold migrate a raw disk device VM of EVA Storage to a virtual disk in a DS8100 it fails with the following message: "incompatible device backup specified for device ´0´" the size of the LUN is Go 510 and appaers message when 100% is full 3 hours laters. I set the block size 2 Mb in the data store, but when I try to migrate a RAw of 100 GB on the same VM migration works very well and I use the new virtual disk without problems.

  This could be a problem with the maximum of storage migration?

  Could you tell me if you know another way to migrate this raw device on the virtual disk?

  Hello! I am having some problems with the understanding of the design of the virtual IDS/IPS.
  I know how to do it with hardware IPS/IDS, when you have a physical interfaces specified to deal with traffic and another physical interface to send inspected traffic to the nucleus.

  My question is how do people there with virtual firewall? I mean, how it is possible to configure a server on VMWare to receive SPAN session (in the case of IDS) or something like that.

• How to get the host name of the physical computer inside a virtual machine until the user logs in Windows?

  I don't know if this is the right place to post this question, I develop software to support VMWare PCoIP and need to know how to get the host name of the physical machine (which manages the virtual machine and View Client) within a virtual machine before the user logs in Windows of the virtual machine.

  I understand there are two ways to read the host name, via the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Volatile Environment registry and environment variables, but they are available once the user is connected. I need info before the user connects.

  Is there a VMware API that can be called or asked the host name?

  We use view ESX 4.1 and 4.5.
  I have the problem that we use DLP 9.1 with EPO 4.5 and have the problem that when we use DLP USB glue with series nummer they do not work through zeroclient on the virtual machine.

  We've set the rules in the operative part of DLP controll that she is allowed to use usb sticks which are content encrypted and where the serial number is saved in the DLP.

  
  It works fine on normal physical laptop but if I use the same USB on my zeroclient who got a machine virtual vmware as the stick got allways blocked.
  I also tried to register before the stick no serialnumber and used the VID and PID, but also that have the same result as the stick has blocked.

  
  If I disable all the rules of control of the aircraft as the stick got mapped from zeroclient to the virtual machine without problem.
  Can help you to use or is there any practice well known for using control of the device with virtual machines?

  I was also in touch with mcafee, but they want to say, this problem is related to vmware and I close go in contact with vmware.

  so, we found the problem.

  The reason why in the virtual machine, it has no SN the stick that we couldn't resolve, but we are in contact with the zeroclient of the teradici seller.
