Adding a user role for SAN switches

I'll try to find the correct location in 3.3 ACS to add the following: roles = "network-admin". We have our SAN with Ganymede switches +. When one user other than admin connections, you get the role of "network operator". The Cisco MDS 9000 Family Troubleshooting Guide, version 3.x doc explains the role if you are using IOS/PIX Radius. Thank you.

Hi Ed,

Here is the link,

http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/storage/san_switches/MDS9000/SW/rel_2_x/San-OS/Configuration/Guide/cradtac.html

If you are looking for:

GANYMEDE + custom attributes can be set on a control access (ACS) server for various

Services (for example, shell). The Cisco MDS 9000 family switches require custom GANYMEDE +.

attribute of the shell of service to use for the definition of the roles.

Cisco ACS GANYMEDE +.

Shell: roles = "network-admin".

Shell: roles * "network-admin".

Cisco-av-pair * shell: roles = "network-admin".

Cisco-av-pair * shell: roles * "network-admin".

Cisco-av-pair = shell: roles * "network-admin".

On GBA, if you go to: the Interface configuration, GANYMEDE + (Cisco IOS), check nex to: "display a window for each selected service in which you can enter custom GANYMEDE + attributes.

Then, go to the configuration of groups and define the role information according to the above attributes.

Hope that helps

Kind regards

~ JG

  • UCS Fiber Channel FI for San switch wiring & config

    My question is about the correct wiring & vSAN configuration by the UCS FI switch San (Cisco MDS).

    Currently my wiring is as follows:

    Fi1 port 25 - SW1 port 3

    Fi1 port 26 - SW2 port 3

    Fi2 port 25 - SW1 port 4

    Fi2 port 26 - SW2 4 port

    On the side of the switch San, our guys of storage configured vlan10 SW1 and SW2 as vlan20. For this reason, I was not able to have a vSAN by FI, I read is recommended, because the VLAN switch cross FIs. Now, when I created vHBAs I have 4 vHBAs per server, 2 by IFS by vlan if I want redundancy with a switch or a loss of FI.

    Question: Is this the correct configuration on the side of the SAN switch? Do I actually create 4 vHBAs per server? I do not have my incorrect wiring & I should just be linking FI1 to SW1 on two ports & FI2 to SW2?

    Help or advice would be appreciated!

    ~ Tara

    Hi Tara,

    There are two ways of wiring of your SAN infrastructure.  It boils down to a design decision. Traditionally the SAN admins prefer to keep their separate/isolated tissue.  In this design THAT MDS-1 only connect to FI - A and MDS-2 would connect only to the FI - B.

    Another option is to connect each MDS at each END.  This gives each FI SAN fabric access and allows to create double VSANS (that exists on each FI) rather than separate them.

    You don't need four vHBAs by UCS Server - some adapters support no more than two in any case.   What you do is create two vHBA by the Service profile, each host will have access both to VSAN 10 and 20.  What you can do is to shift your tissue of vHBA while 1/2 access your Service VSAN 10 via FI - profiles and the other half access VSAN 10 FI - B.  This will help to distribute the load accordingly.

    E.g.

    First 1/2 of SPs

    vHBA0 - VSAN10 - fabric-A

    vHBA1 - VSAN20 - fabric-B

    1/2 second of SPs

    vHBA0 - VSAN20 - fabric-A

    vHBA1 - VSAN10 - fabric-B

    As you can see a bit of a manual balancing can act.  The best scenario would be to isolate (re-cable) to your network SAN fabrics according to the traditional SAN design above.

    Kind regards

  • Configuration of Nexus 5 k for SAN switching between UCS 6100 s and NetApp storage

    We strive to get our configuration of the UCS environment make start SAN LUN on our NetApp storage. We have a pair of Nexus 5Ks with the company / SAN license on them and the 6-port FC module. What to do to configure Nexus 5000 to operate as the SAN switch between the target storage and environment of the UCS?

    You see the 6120 WWPN on the N5Ks? What is the result of 'show flogi database' and 'show int br '.

    You have mapped the FC ports on the 6120 for the proper VSAN?

  • activity maintaiance for SAN switch

    Dear team,

    our storage has informed us that these people are planning activity enjoyed in the weekend next, SAN both switches are in redundant mode so no impact of the UPS
    activity on the availability of the San.
    However ask you to check it out on the side of VMware so all the virtual machines are configured for multipath & are not dependent on the only network SAN
    switch to access the storage.

    all the SAN data store have 4 path (a path is active I/O and rest 3 paths are active. PSP is fixed)

    I just want to confirm if a switch goes down then esxi will automatically route the redundant traffic available SAN switch or do I need manual intervention to route traffic to redundant SAN switch.

    concerning

    Mr. VMware

    You must confirm if the 4 paths to LUN are in different tissues, cause maybe you feel peckish 4 paths as a single fabric, and if the switch of this fabric must be down you will lose access to the storage system.

    You have two HBA? Each connected to a different switch?

    If you find that your 4 paths in different fabrics and each HBA has access to all the controller storage system processor, you can safety put down one of fabric and ESXi will be managing the paths downwards.

  • The worksheet name change for the interactive user role

    Hi all

    I have a question about DRM security for users with access add to the sheet and only read access to the members. The requirement is that the user should be able to add a sheet and change all the properties associated with the leaves but cannot add or change the Member or any property associated with a branch. To do this, I created a group of node (NAG1) and assigned categories of goods (PC1) associated with the hierarchy of the NAG1 with editing access to PC1. The NAG1 for journal access ADD and NAG1 for branch had read access. The user has only one role which is the interactive user. This way, the user cannot add spreadsheets, edit the properties associated with the leaves, but don't can't add limb or change all the properties associated with limb, HOWEVER, the user is not able to change the name of an existing journal. If I give the user role 'Director of Application', while they are able to change the name of the system, but then they see the section Administration on the left and everything related which we want give...

    Is it possible to give the user the ability to change the name of the worksheet without giving ""Application Administrator ' role? "

    Have you checked RenameLeaf and RenameLimb system preferences?  I think that by default, only the administrator can change the name of the node, but you can grant this possibility of additional roles.

  • Adding a user to a role, you see only not the role permissions

    Hi all

    Simple question HERE and frustrating because it seems so easy... Oracle 11 G 64-bit (11.2.0.3) on Windows

    I created a role and a user as follows:

    CREATE USER TEST_USER
      IDENTIFIED BY <password>
      DEFAULT TABLESPACE USERS
      TEMPORARY TABLESPACE M_TEMP
      PROFILE DEFAULT
      ACCOUNT UNLOCK;
      -- 1 Role for TEST_USER
      GRANT INTELLIWAVE TO TEST_USER;
      ALTER USER TEST_USER DEFAULT ROLE NONE;
      -- 1 System Privilege for TEST_USER
      GRANT CREATE SESSION TO TEST_USER;

    The role is:

    CREATE ROLE INTELLIWAVE NOT IDENTIFIED;
    -- Object privileges granted to INTELLIWAVE
    GRANT SELECT ON SCHEMA1.ERROR_LOG TO INTELLIWAVE;
    -- Grantees of INTELLIWAVE
    GRANT INTELLIWAVE TO TEST_USER;
    GRANT INTELLIWAVE TO SYS WITH ADMIN OPTION;

    Now when I use the Toad and sign in using the TEST_USER user, I can connect fine but if I try to choose among this SCHEMA1. Table ERROR_LOG, reads table/view does not exist. And when I check the tree of the scheme under the scheme, I don't see this table under that user. It is there.

    What Miss me?

    Thanks in advance!

    It seems likely that the new role is not enabled in the session. Try

    SELECT * FROM SESSION_ROLES;

    While signed in as a user. The new role appears?

    I don't see EDIT USER by DEFAULT ALL ROLE; in your script CREATE USER.

    I don't see EDIT USER by DEFAULT ROLE INTELLIWAVE;

    For example, if the role is not one of the default roles for the user (via one of the above) then you will need to deliver the VALUE ROLE INTELLIWAVE. or the ROLE ALL VALUE; to access privileges granted to this role. The SET ROLE command affects only the current session.

    Hello

    Thanks for that bring to our attention. Slightly changed role definitions and I'll have my Tech writers look more closely at this.

    I understand also that the account managers are 'super admins' with all the capabilities.

  • GRANT SELECT on a table to the user / role changes for the tab last_DDL

    Hello

    Is grant select (or any private object) to the user/role a DDL statement?

    GRANT SELECT on a table to the user / role changes the last_DDL to the table.
    1 > is this expected behavior?
    2 > no way in which we can grant select on a table by another user, without changing the DDL? (for example create view).

    The test is performed:

    Prior to the issuance:

    ------- ---------------------- ---------- ------------- --------------------
    AR HZ_CUSTOMER_PROFILES 8 MAY 00 13 MARCH 13 2003-06 - 26:12:41:29

    Grant statement:
    GRANT SELECT ON "AR". "' HZ_CUSTOMER_PROFILES ' TO 'AR_VIEW ';

    Note: AR_VIEW is a role, I tried granting also directly to the user.

    After the grant:

    It's the DOF.

    After all, this isn't DML, it implicitly committed and you cannot use it directly in PL/SQL: features of DDL. :-)

  • Management of more than 20 user roles.

    Hello

    JDeveloper 11 g.

    So far, we have managed with the rendered user roles / disabled = ' #{bean.userRight!» = 'U' or bean.userRight == ' {' etc...}.

    However, we want to introduce several user roles, because we have different customers, and they have different types of users as well.  Adding the letters more will make the huge EL expressions.

    I am familiar with user roles made with the safety of the ADF. However, I see the same problem with them. (It becomes difficult to apply when there are more than several users).

    It is possible to make a table a lot to many users and rights. For each user, there will be a list of rights. However having "#{userBean.right == 100}" is not readable.

    Any suggestions?

    Kind regards

    Pamela.

    Rather than use an EL you can point to a bean method and calculate the value of the bean method, returning ture or false according to the connected user.

  • Hide a metadata profile based on the user role.

    Hi all

    I need to hide a metadata profile (log, update) based on the user role page. I have added metadata to a rule like "change" and added the rule to the profile. Now I want the metadata submitted must be visible for couple of user roles (admin, contributor) and it should be hidden for other user roles. How to achieve this?

    The content Server: 11.1.1.8

    Thank you

    Maury

    (1) create a rule that allows you to hide the metadata for all roles

    (2) create a new one which will show use the condition of activation of rule with building userHasRole("contributor")

    Hey, 11 GR 1 material here.

    (..)

    In addition, I did not mention the following. In my case, Execute, I have the following code to see if the creation was application and running only add it to the role if the request is:

    >
    HashMap requestContext = (HashMap) ContextManager.getValue ("requestData", true);
    String requestKey = "";
    long reqKey = 0;

    Checks whether the context of the request is null which means that the task was created through an application, otherwise, no action taken
    If (requestContext! = null) {}
    requestKey = (String) requestContext.get("requestKey").getObjectValue ();
    If (requestKey! = null &! requestKey.isEmpty ()) {}
    reqKey = Long.parseLong (requestKey);
    debug ("Key Request [" + reqKey + "]");
    }

    RoleManagerResult roleResult is addUserToRole (orchestration.getTarget () .getEntityId (), "Insertion role name here");.
    {if(roleResult!=null)}
    If (roleResult.getFailedResults () .size ()! = 0) debug ("failed to add to the role [" + roleResult.getFailedResults () + "]");
    If (roleResult.getSucceededResults () .size ()! = 0) debug ("success adding to the role [" + roleResult.getSucceededResults () + "]");
    }
    }

  • Why is there no user interface for moving the cache locations/profile?

    OK, so it took me a long time to find how to move the location of the cache and the reason is that it is done by an entry that does not exist originally, so a user need to know the channel config even magically set it.
    (this is browser.cache.disk.parent_directory for those in the same waters as me) and it still did not move the location of the profile...
    To change your profile location? The doc only that talks on this subject here:
    http://KB.mozillazine.org/Moving_your_profile_folder
    and it does not work so well for me (i.e. all) but why have I not copy and change things? It is created automatically the first time you start so FF cannot use the same method to create a new profile in an empty space?

    And my real question: is there a valid reason, that there is no element of the user interface to set the location of the profile cache directories?

    There never was a user interface for these parameters - Mozilla is "stingy" about adding prefs that will be only once required by the installation of the user interface. Also, I assume that the developers are convinced that a power user who thinks that even on the displacement of the cache will be searching for instructions on how to do it. (BTW, when you move the cache profile is moved to the folder path profile, its origin "local settings" folder - thus it is automatically moved out of APP DATA.) You can still use this pref to put the cache exactly where you want. I use a small partition for the TEMPORARY files and the cache of Firefox, so they don't one of my biggest readers logics frag.)

    Regarding the difficulties with a profile in motion, developers have threatened to remove Firefox profiles altogether for the last 3 years or 4 and WONTFIX had no Bug filed all improve or add new features to the Profile Manager. This will probably happen this year some time.

    Between you and me, there is a new Profile Manager application just went Beta, which will probably "be released" just as the existing profile manager is extracted from Firefox. It is very schweet and is always at the point where the developers are in response to reports of bugs on features to include and adding the items that are important. I have tabled a minor Bug on the characters allowed in a profile name, which was fixed in 3 or 4 weeks.

    https://wiki.Mozilla.org/Auto-Tools/projects/ProfileManager

    http://FTP.Mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/utilities/ProfileManager/1.0_beta1/

    You must have Windows Visual C++ 2010 redistributable installed for the application of the Profile Manager XUL Runner to work right now. I hope that this will change very soon, and all the necessary files will be included in the Zip package.

  • HP ENVY M6-1106er: Windows 8 Pro hang up to begin after adding Hyper-V role

    Hello.

    Have a problem with HP ENVY M6-1106er

    After the OEM Win8 upgrade to the Pro version, I added the Hyper-V role for my system and restart the laptop.

    After the restart boot OS freezes on the screen with the HP logo and rotating circles.

    If I disable AMD Virtualization in the BIOS - system starts, but the hypervisor does not work.

    With virtualization enabled in the system BIOS will not start with the Hyper-V role installed.

    Help, please.

    Hello Sir,

    Here's what you need to do.

    1. enter in the BIOS setup and define virtualization as being disabled and reboot the system.

    2. after starting windows 8, enter the control panel and remove the bluetooth driver.

    3. download and install Ralink Bluetooth driver 9.2.101.10 version (SP59632)

    4. restart the system and reactivate the virtualization technology.

    I hope this helps.
