Adding and editing an anchor point when drawing

I know in Photoshop, you can add an anchor between two anchor points while still drawing with the pen tool, then hold down the ctrl/cmd key to modify anchor points and has handles. When I try this with AI, I get the selection tool instead of the direct Selection tool. Is it possible to do this in HERE?

If you have the direct Selection tool highlighted (use A key before the P), it will be accessible by pressing the Cmd (Ctrl) while drawing. This means that you can change the position of anchor while still drawing the path.

Try this.go in the menus. Select cc illustrator > preferences > display selection & anchor > then make sure the box "activate the rubber band for" the pen tool is not selected. Then press OK. It should work.

  • Why when I spend between a center-aligned line and fill my anchor points do they move?

Hi, I use Illustrator for many years and never noticed this happens when I fill out a form - can someone explain why this is happening?

I paint a logo using an accident stroke center aligned, rounded rectangle and another path merged to make my logo... like this plan...

    1.jpg

.. .and when I change my race aligned at the center of a STROKE to a fill and vice versa (to make the black solid form), the anchor points of my shape... move about 10 times for fswitching between the fill and stroke, background and outline etc. my ways look like this...

    2.jpg

Why is this happening? It doesn't do this when I use a line lined up outside or inside the way - just at the moment where the storoke is aligned with the center of the path? CAnanyone explain why this happens? What going on here?

  • Parametric sice of change in shape of rectangle to scale and to the anchor point

A current project of mine, I use many forms - in particular rectangle shapes with rounded corners. To maintain the proportions of the rounded corners when the size changes animation, I use the size property of the trace of the rectangle across the shape. It seems to work pretty well, except that I can't After Effects to use the anchor for this method - the rectangle shape is still scaling to and from the center of the shape.

Is this type of "resizing" no support for anchor points, or am I missing something here? How do you solve it in your projects?

    Thanks in advance!

There is no integrated solution and I'm not sure what you would do differently during the construction of a path. The expressions are simple enough, so why not use them?

  • How do see you anchor Points when Object is Unselected

Hi, in Adobe Illustrator is it possible to view the anchor of objects permanently even when an object is not selected? So you can see where the points are when you make shapes with the pen tool. If there was, it would make it much easier to place points on existing points of other forms without having to guess where they are. Thanks for you help on Gareth.

For my part, you are invited, Gareth.

  • Personal warping of music with anchor points?

I need to get a model of very specific chain with a musical score (2 measures). When I take the steps and back up I can use string functions that do not include a precise control. I would like to take 2 measures, like a 'flag' warp and twist with anchor points, but this does not seem possible. Any help?

Make art artbrush out of it. Draw a curved line, and then apply to the brush.

You can also refine a deformation of the envelope using the gradient mesh tool. But it does not work when you apply the deformation under effect. It only works when you apply good object > envelope.

Reason: The title was too long

Currently, the only way to do this is to:

    1. Place the graphic in a sequence.
    2. Select the graph in the sequence and open the effect controls panel.
    3. Whirlpool open the motion effect and adjust the anchor Point property by dragging the X and coordinate hot text.
    4. You may need to adjust the Position property to place the graphic where you want, because it will pass like you most the anchor Point property.
  • How to create a wavy with coherent wave regardless of anchor point spacing line?

    wavy2.PNG

The picture above shows my problem. All have the same zig zag setting the effect, but because of the inconsistent anchor point spacing is inconsistent ripple. Is there a way to make a wavy line that is not a distortion of the anchor point distances? I wish that all my wavy lines to look nice and consistent like this:

    wavy3.PNG

The only reason that they are so consistent is the absolute value was used but these lines are all straight and have only 2 anchor points, beginning and end, so the wave is coherent. It is more difficult when the lines are curved and have a different number and spacing of anchor points.

You can also use the graphic style inside this sample file (AI-CS-5 format, approx. 1 MB):

  • You use the stylus to remove an anchor point or create a curve?

When you place the pen tool on the anchor points on an open path, it shows a sign-, but when I click on the anchor does not remove the anchor, and if I click on the anchor a second time turns into triangle symbol to create a curve.

    1. Why does sometimes delete anchor point when the - sign appears and I click an anchor point, while other times it does not work?

    2. What is the shortcut to go directly to the side of the triangle without having to double click on an anchor?

    Thank you.

Are you referring to the endpoints of a path?

In this case it must be

    -use the subtraction-anchor-tool or

-Select a point with the direct Selection tool, and then press the delete key

  • Cannot move the anchor point?

    I use CS4.

When I try to select an anchor point, the actions I take immediately highlight the position and position - not the anchor. I use the selection tool - is not serious if I select the layers or via screen - same thing happens.

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you!

If you use the Pan behind tool (keyboard shortcut is the key there) and enter the anchor point, the anchor moves relative to the layer, but does not move the apparent position of the layer in the composition. If you check the position values in the timeline panel, you will see that they change when you drag the anchor around the layer.

If you enter values of anchor point in the timeline panel, the relative position of the layer seems to be moving in the composition window, but the position of the values do not change because the position of the anchor point is not mobile at the composition level.

The value of the position of a layer is always the position of the anchor from the composition. The value of the anchor point is the position of the anchor relative to the layer. Rotation and scale centered around the anchor point of the two.

    I hope this helps.

  • Is it possible to disable the anchor points in illustrator cs3?

Just, I got my wacom tablet and disable the anchor points in illustrator. I tried hiding on board and disable auto add/remove in the general section, preferably.

I want to be able to draw freely without anchor points, connection with all my forms that are next to each other.

How do I disable the anchor points so it will allow me to free draw draw?

    Thank you.

The pen tool or brush tool?

Brush tool: double-click the button tool brush itself in the toolbar.  Adjust the settings accordingly. (more precisely "keep selected")

Pen tool: no chance.  Press the command key to toggle the last used selection tool, and then click a place to deselect.  Or press command-shift-a to deselect everything.

  • How to draw a line (with the line segment tool) then draw another line, from those previous anchor point. When I try immediately draw another line on the other anchor lines it try to turn instead.

I'm following a course of basic fundamental illustrator on Lynda. The video of "draw straight lines" is troubling me. They draw a line with the line segment and then draw another line coming out the anchor point at an angle.

Here's where it is troubling me - when I try to drag a line to the anchor point trying to transform the first line, I drew. (the line cursor turns into a selection tool) I can't draw another line connecting the first.

Advice would be great because it's driving crazy me.

    See you soon,.
    Kyle

Yes, it is irritating. You must clear the previous line first. If you want to make sure that both ends are perfectly aligned, start by turning on the guides. If you want two lines to be part of the same way, you should use the tool pen instead.

  • Hello. Anyone set black and white points when editing? If so, at what point in the workflow do you do that?

I tend to use after correcting the highlights, shadows, brightness, clarity and contrast may be. In the latest versions of LR you can simply double-click on the word white and black all in now the SHIFT key. Which will automatically define the ends of the histogram. It works fine most of the time, but sometimes I need to go back a little off.

    k,

It looks like you might be haunted by the Align attribute to the ghost of the pixel grid.

You can select the entire document and untick finally align on the pixel grid in the Transform palette and uncheck also align new objects to the pixel grid in the options of the Launcher. It is crucial that the checkbox is disabled completely, not just a - which also count as ticked.

It may be noted that even align with the pixel grid is cleared with all the selected objects, align new objects to the pixel grid is checked as the creation of new objects will result in these new objects being aligned, even when they are created from existing objects that can happen with Pathfinder operations.

You can avoid the types of documents with the default (RGB for the web and other) or change the default value for such documents.
