Adding id properties increases the size of the file?

I tend use the property id, in addition to comments as a tool to help me see the layout of components and converters to display the overview of my work space. I'm curious to know if it's a bad practice, if these are properties that are not necessary to the functionality of a given application, and if so, to what extent?

Thank you

It adds to the size of the SWF, but probably not significantly.

  • Properties of the file means nothing?

I'm learning to iTunes. I got rid of my iPod years and promised to never go back.

Yet, I find myself in the situation where I need to learn it again.

Just try to understand a few issues here.

    (1) if I look at the properties of my file (Windows), I can see album, genre (?), etc. I can also change this information. I need so that I can create playlists based on some information. If I change this information in the properties of the file Windows, iTunes is updating new information?

    (2) when iTunes imports all the music on my computer, it copies it to a new location? For example, if I download an album to my office, all the files are in a folder Album1. Can I synchronize files in iTunes (or drag and drop into iTunes) can I go back to delete the original folder of Album1 off my desktop computer?

    Thank you

    1. N ° iTunes will automatically detect changes to external metadata. These will be picked up if iTunes because of reading the label, for example during playback. If you use iTunes, using iTunes. I have a script called UpdateTagInfo if you really want to change externally and then force iTunes to notice.
    2. It depends on where the files (inside or outside the designated media folder) and your choice for the advanced preference, copy the files in the folder when adding to library media. My recommendation is to leave this option. A free iTunes content library is much easier to backup and you move.

  • Modification of fields on the Details tab of the properties of the file - Windows 7 Home Premium (32 bit)

A few mp3 files on my system, I'm trying to change some data in the Details tab of the properties of the file (for example, I want to add "Trance" in the field of gender and text in the comments field).

Most of the mp3 files on my system I would just like to update these fields in detail, no problem.

For the rest a few mp3s, I read as many articles "Windows Help" because my poor brain can handle permissions management and Managing Director property/parameter object controls access to objects, and I compared the different fields of details of the modified and unmodified files and can't see where I am going wrong or what I am missing out on.

I would be very grateful to receive assistance from the community to my simple goal change these details fields.

I am a user of Windows for many years and can work normally how to solve my own questions. However, this time, I'm stumped!

Have you downloaded the file changed my cloud storage?

The file behaves as it should?

You can modify the comments field?

I wrote a script for you which allows you to modify the recalcitrant files yourself. Here's what you need to do:

    1. Mark, then copy the code below.
    2. Run notepad.exe.
    3. Paste the code into the Notepad screen.
    4. Click on file / save as
    5. Open the "Save as type" drop-down list and select "All Files". This is important!
    6. Save the file as "FixMP3Files.vbs" in the folder where you keep your .mp3 files.

To correct a file, take it and drop it on the FixMP3Files.vbs script. After about 30 seconds, you will get a .mp3 file with the word "changed" in its name.

  • Properties of the file - Date of the last recorded

    Hello.

I'm having trouble understanding the properties of the file, as "Last record Date" (DLS) and "Date modified" (MD).

I asked that the last of them, MD, has been changed whenever the content has changed. But Distribution lists must be updated also.

However, I have a file which has the DLS on 2007 and MD 2014 and the 'last impression"also is 2014.

    How is that possible?

What has changed the date the content of the file was really the last?

I would be grateful if someone could help me understand this.

    Thank you,

    Nuno Roque

Modification date is when the file got changed on that hard drive. Even if you have never opened the file, just drag-and - drop it to drive flash (for an example) would last updated date change, because the file on this disk changed really.

Properties such as "Date of last recorded" and "date printed" are stored in the file itself, such as metadata and are updated no not by disk or operating system, but by the design (such as Word) program.

  • Deleting a group to a TDMS file increases the file size

    Hi all

I was searching for information on how to delete a group in a TDMS file. Apparently this is not a simple task as I thought because firstly, it is necessary to convert the TDMS file in a TOC file, remove the group from the TOC file and finally convert the TDM in PDM file. There is a sample project really nice here (I have attached it in the post anyway!).

This project works very well. Indeed, I am able to remove the group from the PDM file. However, I realized that perform the deletion process increases the size of the file (about 4 times). If you are viewing the PDM with the PDM file - file Viewer.vi you realize that several strange properties have been added to each channel of all other groups. I assumed that this is partly the cause of the increase in size.

Anyone know why this is happening?

I'm using LabVIEW 2014 and I downloaded the project for 2014 LabVIEW.

Any help is appreciated to higlhy.

    Best regards

    Diego Ballen

The old way was to read each group that you want to save and write to a new file. The fundamental problem is that TDMS format has been optimized for speed and no memory efficiency, which can cause a lot of complications when you seemingly simple things - like the deletion of data, or reading the data of the file.

That is why NEITHER came up with these new features. If you're stuck with an earlier version, you can always write your own function to do the same.

  • Changing properties of the file during import to Premiere Pro

    Hello

Strange problem I encountered: images taken with my Canon 6 d fixed changes in 1920 x 1080 / 30 fps at 1080 x 720/25 fps when they are imported into Premiere Pro (CS6). My PP settings are: Digital SLR, 1080 p 30. Can someone help me understand what is happening here I have triple checked the camera and PP. settings This problem is forcing me to produce videos SD that I shot in HD – a real frustration! Thank you.

Thanks for your reply, but I just found out that the mistake was made before importing files in Premiere Pro. Initially, I had these files stored in the Mac Photos and did not know that by dragging to the desktop would change the file properties. To keep the original properties, you must go to file > export > export original unmodified.

  • Sudden increase in size of alert file < SID > .log

the file < SID > .log Alert is abrubtly increasing in size that is in process girls free disk space, so more no DB connection.

I stop the database, took a bakup of the alert log file, negated the alerts log (using cat/dev/null > alert.log) and started the database.

From now, its OK, but can I cancel this alert log file while the database is running. ???

    Hi Vicky,

Yes, you can... you can even delete the alert.ora file that has the database open: Oracle will recreate it just the next you will need to write to it.

  • Increase in size of project file

I reduced the slides in my project from 1024 x 768 to 800 x 600 and my file size has almost doubled in size.

Also, I got a project of 264 slides to 22 slides, and the size of the file only 64 MB to 58 MB. (The files that I removed the entire screen capture have been, and I do not use FMR)

    What the?

    See you soon,.

    Kerry

    Hi Kerry

Sometimes, we see that Captivate does not reduce the file size of the. CP file if you remove library items. The only sure fire I know is to create a completely new project. Then copy and paste slides from the old to the new.

It should be noted, however, that although the size of the project file has not changed, the size of output file must have changed radically.

    See you soon... Rick

  • Multiple instances of the same audio clip increase the size of the file?

By example, if the same audio clip is placed on layers separated five as opposed to one (5 v 1)?

    Does not Flash "dedupe"?

No, they do not increase the size of file significantly. That is to say, the assistance of 100 cases of a noise could increase the file size of 1 KB on a single instance because noise of no added 100 times at the end of file, just the necessary info to indicate where it should play in the timeline or in your actionscript code.

  • For a given file, how to add and change file properties on the Details tab, for properties that are not in the properties list?

Now, I am aware of the modification of the properties of the file is simple in Windows 7 Explorer. Select a file, 'Properties', then tab "Details". Some are not editable, and that's understandable. Click on next to any area classified as year, Genre, Publisher, etc. and the apply. No problems so far.

Then of course in Explorer, when you right click on a column header, you get several choices of column beyond the usual that is displayed by default; Date, the Type, size, etc. But, there is an option "More...", which has up to now, MUCH more useful properties to choose from, such as the model project, Department, job statusand so on.

    It's fantastic!

But when you look into the details of any given file, none of these additional properties even are listed to be edited. Why offer to view these details, if you don't change them, or add them to different files? I must be missing something. I do not need to add my own custom details, this additional list has a choice, that I need; If only I could edit the files to get this info.

How to add and change these properties to files? Word, Excel, MP4, AVI, JPG; I would add these properties, so I can set directly in the Solution Explorer, as you would by name or Type.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

My experience is that most of these 'extra fields' no existence not as fields in the directory (folder) itself. On the contrary, these fields exist in the target file itself. Each file type has its own format and established file except for the types of files that belong to Microsoft, Microsoft cannot control or arbitrarily change the format of a particular file type.

For example, a ".jpg" file The format of this file type allows a large number of areas such as comments, Tags, date taken, opening, device manufacturer and so on. If you go into the properties on a .jpg file, you will see a lot of them and will be able to change. After changing any of these fields, you will find that the file itself has been changed to contain this information (as can be verified by the parity of the file and to come check upward with a different checksum). If you display one of these fields in Explorer and 10000 ".jpg" files in this folder, then Explorer must open each of these 10000 files to extract the data in the corresponding fields, you have chosen to display. May take some time.

Compare that to the same picture saved to a file ".bmp". The ".bmp" format has no provisions for any of these fields, so you will not be able to view, save, edit, or sort by them. If the editable fields are directly related to the type of file that is displayed.

Microsoft has apparently interviewed a lot of file types and made a compilation of the editable fields in each type of file and the Union of the selected fields in which can be displayed and modified. That's apparently what you see in the option «More...» ». So, in summary, the file type determines which fields are available for editing and posting.
