  Our Nigel, unfortunately is no longer with us, wrote a cunning to convert script photographs large size smaller using Photoshop CS4.

  I have an Epson Perfection V600 Scanner and want to start the default scan instead of the WIA software minimal support which is the only choice.  The Epson Scanner software works great as a stand alone.  I use Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, so I'm also using the 64-bit version of Photoshop CS4.  Thank you.

  Thanks R_Kelly to put me on the right track.  Once I launched the 32-bit version, I watched the start of properties and found this program in the folder Windows/twain32.  Then I went into the preferences of Adobe, Plug-ins and adding the two folder for the long version.  When I rebooted PS 32 - bit, the choice of the full version has been added in addition to the default value of supported WIA Basic.  Voila!  Thanks to all who responded.

• Photoshop CS4: Using the pen tool to add corner rather than the curved anchor anchors

  Hello people, I tried everything I could think about using different sentences, but have yet to find a way to do it or if it was possible. I'm working on a project that requires the addition of many corner anchors to paths. By default, using the feather of Photoshop CS4 adds curve anchors. Therefore I have to add the anchor and then convert it into a corner. Is there an easy way to make the PS to create corners instead of curves with the pen tool? Even using combos Shift-Ctrl-alt-click did not help? Would save me time and mental health!

  I tried to change the background color of the menu bar of my photoshop for some reason any instead of being a white background with black text, I have below.

  If you have not defined a quirky theme on the desktop (which Photoshop for most unknown), it could be that you have a video driver issue.

  I think the first thing I would try is the following: right-click on the open desktop, choose personalize, and then save your current theme.  Now, select the Windows 7 theme, in order to ensure that everything is settled in a known way.

  I am running Photoshop CS4, a a few machines using Windows Vista and Windows 7, and I wonder if there is a way to change the default mode in CYMK at a new document, import of images etc.

  For now, everything is oriented RGB. I looked in the Photoshop preferences and browsed the forums etc. nothing works.

  So my question is this: is it possible to change the color mode to CMYK when you create default and opening documents?

  I guess it is not an easy option (unless I missed it), so is it perhaps to do a plugin or script?

  Photoshop remembers the setting in the file > new... dialog. When you create a new image in Photoshop always displays this window, for the color Mode choose CMYK and next time, when you create a new image of your last choice will be automatically selected.

  However, there is one exception, when you copied the image data on your clippboard. Then the color Mode option will automatically be set to the color mode of the image that is in the Clipboard. You can always clear the image data in your Clipboard by copying the other thing like text.

  Material: Printer large format: Epson 11880 (64 '' large monster). Prints large posters, banners, etc.

  Situation: We hung everything and managed to print on the printer 11880 2 times and printed two draws large format. On the third attempt, we encountered a serious problem...

  Problem: After opening a file in Photoshop and it sends large format printing to the Epson printer, the file goes to the print queue of the printer and stays there for 6 seconds, and then it disappears. It does not print. :-(

The computer has nothing else in it. Exception: Operating systems and Mac applications that come when the Mac out of the box. The only other program installed in Photoshop CS4 and the printer driver.
  • We wondered if it was just a printing problem, period. So, we added a small printer to the computer - and the old Epson 2200 we have. We have sent a file to the printer and there is no problem.

Finally, he thought that the problem was with Adobe because the printer is capable of printing from all applications EXCEPT Adobe Photoshop.

  We called Adobe for the second time... and after waiting on hold for an hour together, we got an Indian technician, who bless her heart, had a very thick accent and had no expertise, in my opinion. It was good to collect data and it even made me share my computer screen so that he could solve the problem. After being constantly put on hold by him (because he had to consult with someone else), he passed the ball and said it was the problem of Apple. I just told her that it was also unlikely, because all EXCEPT Photoshop print programs. After trying what I consider a "Hail Mary" to REMOVE all printers in my library folder and replacing them does not, he recorded a case number to another technician from Adobe to call us in the coming days.

  Conclusion: I think it's a problem of Adobe CS4 does not agree with new Apple operating system. The Epson printer is fine, because it's a product that has been on the market for almost 3 years. What is disappointing, is that none of the companies wants the man to the top and say that this is a problem and that they are willing to work on it. Instead they return the ball to the new company.

  I can't believe I'm the only person who knows this. If someone has had this problem and have you found a solution or workaround for it?

  Looking at the rest of the thread, the user says "However, avoid us all of the computer color management or the printer when printing it right now."

  If they use "No. Color Management" mode, I'm not surprised to see failures on the Epson, and that's what gets the note "Is not a valid color space" in the journal.

  Use either PS color management manages or printer handles and things should be fine. Or use CS5 and things should be good.

• Photoshop CS4 changing police randomly...

  I'm baffled by this one. I created a new text layer and chose MT classic resolution tight like the police. I've entered a single word, entered a space and typing continues. However, everything that follows that the space was Minion Pro. I had to select all of the text and return to the resolution of the MT. What happens no matter what I chose the police. I could start with something like Arial, type a space after the first word that I type, and then the rest of the text entered is in some other random characters. There seems to be no logic to it. I use PS for years and CS4 at least a year, and this problem never imagined before.
