address bar does not work

If I type "amazon.com" or www.amazon.com"in the address bar and press on enter, nothing happens." Even if I click the arrow in the bar nothing address arrives. I have to do a search in the search bar to access a web site. I believe that the version of the file is 37.0.2.5583. Any suggestions? Thank you very much.

I've tried everything as suggested. First the cache then safe mode. Firefox worked in safe mode, but frankly, I'm not the best at solving software problems. So - I clicked on 'refresh Firefox. " Who did. I am very grateful to you people for taking the time to help me!

  • The address bar does not work in Thunderbird 3.31

In TBIRD 3.31, entered an address does not work. Is there a fix, or TBIRD has just been lazy fixing a huge problem in the update. Besides the gray boxes that we seem all to hate, this is what happens. Let's say I want to send an email to David Richards. I go to the first line of the address on my message, type "dav" and four addresses are presented for me to choose... David Elliott, David Richards, David Franks, and David Bloom.

I click on 'David Richards' and the insert name and e-mail address on the address line 1. I hit TAB or ENTER, to go to line 2, to insert a second address and immediately 'David Richards' is replaced by David Elliott - the first name in the suggestion list.

Only two workaround solutions are, after you have inserted the correct name in the list, 1) right-click on the 2nd line of the address, or 2) type the name on line 1, so that it is the first choice in the suggestion box until I hit TAB or ENTER.

This, of course, defeats the function addresses completely automatic filling.

Lazy Thunderbird HELP. How can you not have noticed and it's already fixed?

Yes, it's a bug, and no one is being lazy.

People volunteer their time to bring you a mail client and as soon as there is nothing like a problem, someone is lazy. Seriously, this is not acceptable. Before commenting on the contributions of others, please indicate what your contributions have been.

A possible solution to the problem of address bar: disable the Safari Suggestions

  • automatic search in the address bar does not work

I used to be able to type a word in the address bar (or rental) and I would like to get done for the best site that google might think. If I typed 'dogs' in there and press ENTER, I would go to the dog of wikipedia page. If I type "hotmail", I'll get sent to hotmail.com. This happens either. Now I just get the google search results for the keyword that I entered. I tried to go to about: config and ensuring that the keyword.url is default and I tried different things with the browser.fixup stuff, but nothing works. All this happened when I updated firefox too, so I think that's the problem. What can I do to fix and recover?

  • Address bar does not work since the new update?

With the recent update of firefox, I can go is faster to Web sites by typing in the address bar. I used to be able to type something simple like "face" and he could give me options to choose from such as: facebook.com.

Now if I can't even click the drop down arrow for a list of my most visited sites. How to re-enable this more useful features?

On the Tools menu, select Options to open the options window. "" Select the Privacy tab and make sure the setting at the bottom of this dialog box for the location bar "when you use the address bar, suggest" is set to "history and bookmarks.

Another possible cause of the location bar no longer works is a problem with the file that contains the history and bookmarks. See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locked_or_damaged_places.sqlite for details on setting

  • Auto-completion in the address bar does not work well

Usually, I always opened in the browser 2 tabs: gmail and hotmail. When I open a tab mew and I start typing in one'm ' to connect to facebook and open my page the mouse the automatic completion feature removes follow her ' I have typed and replaces it with the "switch to tab" Gmail, placing them directly in the address bar "https://mail.google.com/mail/?shva=1#inbox'."
So follow her ' I typed becomes magically an 'h', followed by the rest of the address.
I suggest to improve the auto-completion: if I type one me ' auto complete it with an address that begins with the'm 'or with the part of an address that begins with what am '.
A great idea (in my opinion) can show "https://" in an area between the one with the ' switch to tab:' text, display, in the rest of the address bar, am 'I typed followed by the right side of the address provided, in this case it would be'ail.google.com/mail/?shva=1#inbox'. In this way, when I type the 'o' of the mouse, you can change the "prediction" and fill it in this way: ' mohttp://apps.facebook.com/. usehunt', where the square brackets identifies the box and the vertical bar (|) identifies the beginning of auto-completion.

  • Mozilla firefox 36 address bar does not

I've recently updated Firefox to 36 because of an error running on an earlier version. I am running Win XP with SP3 and also using Norton 360. After the update the address bar does not work, either by using the Enter key, or menu drop down recent sites and selecting a.
My Favorites function as it should and I can go to any site that I have here. My Google home page works as it should and it will take me to any site on my homepage.
I tried to use the method of Mozilla Firefox 'safe start' with no difference. I also upgraded my Norton 360 with the latest changes and it is to this day. I have "authorized" Mozilla Firefox to the Norton firewall configuration, but none of these things have had an impact on the problem.
I have read and tried everything I could find on the subject "problems bar" but nothing works.
I like Firefox, but it becomes quite annoying and I don't want to go back to IE 8.
For any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure that you are not Firefox running in compatibility mode.

You can open the properties of the desktop Firefox shortcut via the context menu and check under the tab "compatibility".
Make sure that all items are disabled in the tab "Compatibility" in the Properties window.

  • Address bar does not not in Safari

My address bar does not work properly in safari, I can't click on it and enter the address manually, which is quite annoying. I deleted the plist of safari in the library but still no luck. Found a temporary solution to http://osxdaily.com/2016/01/05/fix-safari-freezing-address-bar-use/ that is to disable the functions of smart search which solved my problem, but is there a way that can solve the problem without disabling these features? I use a MBPR 2012 with El Capitan and never had this problem before.

Has't Apple has yet published an official commentary or difficulty with this problem, so for now the only solution is that you mentioned in your message.

  • Search bar does not work.

I am running FF25.0.1 on Windows 7, but I had this problem for several versions, do not remember when he started. The search bar does not work with any engine, I can type and the cursor flashes but it does not research when I hit enter or use the search button.

    I tried:
    -clean the uninstall/reinstall firefox
    -create a profile
-in the course of running as an administrator
    -test in safe mode
-suppression of research and searchmetadata.json, formhistory.sqlite, etc..
-removal of the plugins to search then by reinstalling ff to generate news
    -use the searchreset addon

After some of them, the search bar will work only once to help enter or the button before returning to the uselessness.

I'm more or less certain that I don't have a malicious software. I do not use the address bar to search because it is a little more complicated to use terms, including the slashes or openings of the diaphragm, and put except that I do not have the functions which do not hang out.

Start the computer in Mode safe mode with network support Windows (on the startup screen, press F8) as a test to see if that helps.

Do a clean reinstall and delete the program folder before Firefox to (re) install a new copy of the current version of Firefox.

Download a new copy of Firefox and save the file to the desktop.

Uninstall your current version of Firefox, if possible, the settings in the software security and cleaning of the Windows registry.

    • Do NOT remove the data personal when you uninstall your current version of Firefox, because all profile files will be deleted and you lose personal data such as bookmarks and passwords from other versions of Firefox profiles.

Delete the program folder Firefox before installing newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

    • (32-bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
    • (Windows 64 bit) "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla.

Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a uninstall and (re) install, but make sure that 'delete personal data' is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.
