Address bar is more research

Running v14.0.1. The most recent update appears to be invalid the ability to perform searches from the address bar; Instead, I use the search exclusively bar. It's slightly embarrassing that I usually have the search bar, other than Google, such as Wikipedia or YouTube, and be able to quickly do a search on Google for the address bar has been faster than to change the search engine in the search bar.

    The Site identity button has changed to protect users against hackers attempt to "spoof" legitimate research site buttons. The site icon still appears on the bookmarks and tabs, but not at the left end of the location/URL bar.

    To restore the icons of the site to the location/URL bar, try one of the Add-ons new following:

    There is an add-on to add an extra color to the new button-> https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/site-identity-button-colors/ (has previously been reviewed by Firefox, click here to learn more about what it means that)

  • Is there a bar more research? It is not in the customization or options, so how do I turn it on. Or do I need an add-on?

    Is there a bar more research? It is not in the customization or options, so how do I turn it on. Or do I need an add-on?

    Yes, the search bar is normally to the far right of the main navigation bar. Sometimes if you find yourself with too many buttons, some controls on the toolbar 'overflow' on a drop-down list. The button for the menu drop-down has an > > icon. If you feel that you can use customize to move the search bar in a more useful location because it does not work well on the list of overflow.

    If it isn't here either, consider using the "Restore default settings" button down in the center of tab customize to return toolbars "defect". This article is for details on customize: Customize Firefox commands, buttons, and toolbars.

  • on my laptop running windows 7 more information disappeared from the window - topics (file, publishing, display, etc.), address bar and navigation buttons - everything I can see tabs - how do the lack of points to display

    Missing on my laptop running windows 7, all the info displayed at the top of the home page. All headings, i. e. file, change the view etc. disappeared. There is no address bar. There is no "home button", the button refresh, etc.. My wife was using the machine when it happened, so I don't know what she was doing. How to restore these features?

    most of the information has disappeared from the window - topics (file, publishing, display, etc.), address bar and navigation buttons

    When all the toolbars are missing, you are probably in full screen view, press F11 to toggle mode full-screen, or you can move the cursor to the top of the screen.

    The real problems you describe all set thanks to an extension and customization, see 01:10 steps later...

    You can make Firefox 5.0 looks not like Firefox 3.6.19, see numbered 1 to 10 points in the next topic difficulty Firefox 4.0 UI toolbar, problems (Make Firefox 5.0, or 4.0.1 resemble 3.6). If you make changes, you must be aware of what has changed and what it takes to use changed or missing features.

    It is much more beyond these first 10 steps in the list, if you want to make Firefox more functional.

    Toolbars and their contents have been rearranged and buttons have been merged dual-use, the net result is that I could see about 25% of what I had before and recorded about 10% of the area of the toolbar with great loss of functionality to hide things that might already be hidden and to create confusing buttons that already have keyboard shortcuts and don't need to be seen. The only good thing that has been ' Ctrl + / ' has been added to hide/show the modules bar that has not replaced the status bar.

  • The size of my address bar of tools has become suddenly much more great, how can I reduce the previous size?

    Yesterday morning, when opening my browser address size / the toolbar at the top of the browser will appear much larger. Actually display my regular web pages (google calendar, netscape home page, evernote web, garmin connect and brightness which are all in my toolbar) also shows much larger by clicking on it. I know how to reduce or enlarge the display of these pages by the keyboard shortcut "control - or +" or by clicking on the signs + under settings and have already done. But this has no effect on the size of the toolbar. I remember not to make any changes from the previous day. I would like to bring the size of the screen from the top of my browser on the previous settings, but have not yet find a way to do it. I tried restart firefox and so lost my addons and settings, but it didn't touch no change to the question of size. To confirm that I'm not imagining things, I also observed that bookmarks, downloads, subject: startpage, start a conversation, evernote webclipper and icon settings that I have installed the toolbar have become blurred or out of focus accordingly become so large. As the screen space is useful (yes I know I can fullscreen with f11) I would like to return to original realestate by getting the display at the top of the page in the browser to a normal size. Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

  • How to make default in the address bar of research follows the selection of the top search bar right

    Hello

    at the time, my default firefox location bar search engine is dynamic, it always follows the preferred search engine on the right upper search bar

    but I clicked some ads in accident, and just go wrong

    my default address bar search engine always uses google, back then, it searches in wikipedia when I use the wikipedia on the top right search engine bar even when I'm just typing "firefox" to search in the address bar, it will be automatically redirected to wikipedia search for "firefox".

    TL; Dr., how can I make a default address bar search engine follows the search engine in the search bar?

    Thanks for your attention

    You can now move on to the beta version of Firefox which is Firefox23 already.

    Don't know exactly what your old configuration were able, but whatever happens and in the near future it must always be easy to change the right hand search bar to use the various search engines.

    At some point in the future there are possibilities the search address bar may be combined and there is also the possibility of a new system of Search-tab under development.

  • I want the address bar so that my bookmark bar can show more than three icons when it is placed on the same line.

    I have about five to ten icons bookmark in the same line as the search and address bar. So I use customize... and I put the bookmarks on the same line bar. I leave the "name"-textbox in each bookmark in white so that only the icons. ""

    However, only two icons appear and the rest are displayed in a drop-down list with an arrow you click.

    I need not address bar to take 70% of the screen. I don't want the bookmarks bar to use an additional line. I just want to have the icons of bookmark five to ten next to my search and address bar. Is this possible?

    The address bar and the search bar, that both have a flex attribute that makes then take all available space.

    Items in Bookmarks Toolbar folder probably has a minimum width that can just make a bookmark with a maximum length label (in your case two icons).

    You can set the width of the address bar and the search bar to force a maximum width of these two bars max.
    Definition of a minimum width for the bookmarks toolbar items will probably work as well.

    Add code to the file userChrome.css below default @namespace (setting the width according to your needs).

    Customization files (interface) userChrome.css and userContent.css (Web sites) are located in the chrome folder in the user profile folder.

    @namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */

    #urlbar-container { max-width: 400px !important; }
    #search-container { max-width: 200px !important; }

    You can use this code to set a minimum width for bookmarks toolbar items if you want to experiment with that.

    You may need to set a width max as well.

    #personal-bookmarks { min-width: 200px !important; }
  • Type a word in the address bar will take me more is the closest match. This feature has been removed?

    In all recent versions of firefox (that I remember), I was able to type in any word in the address bar and it would take me to what was usually the first result of google, now it takes me just a google search.
    For example, I could type in "Wikipedia" and it would take me the wikipedia House directly, now it takes me to a google search the word "wikipedia".
    I tried this in a number of betas FF4 nothing helps, it is still missing in the RC. I am disappointed.

    Any help?

    The change between Firefox 3.6. * and Firefox 4 is how the location bar search. In Firefox 3.6, it uses Google search "search by name". With innovation by the name search, it performs a search on Google and if there is a clear match he will take you on the site, otherwise, it shows the Google search result. With Firefox 4 it performs just a search on Google, if you type in something that is not recognized as a URL.

    To get the behavior of Firefox 3.6 on Firefox 4, you must change a hidden preference.

    1. Type of topic: config in the address bar and press on enter
    2. Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences
    3. Locate the preference keyword. URL, double-click it and change its value on the link below

  • Firefox continues to change url in the address bar, even when I type a url full. How can I force my search?

    Dealing with the same companies daily, weekly, or on a very regular basis. When I get a new business account or a customer, I try to remember to delete erroneous results in the address bar. I hit the full url (.com) in the address bar, but Firefox forces of memory (or history) and the only way I can get where I'm going is to type the address from a search engine.

    I have everything: completion of the configged, but that didn't work. I also tried autofill.typed, but that has not worked. I tried to change tools > address bar, but the choices are not good. I almost never search bookmarks and my story is too often used to remove. (It seems counterproductive). How can I stop Firefox forcing me to go places I want to go?

    It looks like - in the sense to remember shit that I can't remember - and to do my research much more difficult.
    I had problems - particularly in Amazonia. I wrote a couple of times. Nobody has ever gotten back me on why FIREFOX has so many problems. If I get answers here, how can I get answers? I don't want to use IE and I don't want to have to avoid certain websites because results suck. I'm in limbo until solutions are found.

    Thank you.

    I don't know if the problem is that Firefox itself changes the address you type in the address bar, or if the site is immediately Firefox redirection to another page when trying to access the address you specified.

    For example, 1 & 1 Webmail currently redirects to this site for login: https://webmailcluster.perfora.net/

  • How to activate the address bar?

    whenever I open Firefox, I couldn't use my address bar. The address bar is not active. I can go to any websites from history or bookmarks.please help me to solve this problem.

    Please upgrade to firefox 28 and then see if it works.

    If research is to go elsewhere, then in an updated version could be because you have set the search bar to use another search engine, and so the results aren't quite what you expect. Can you explain what you mean by not going is not where you want by giving some examples.

    More likely, it's an unwanted adware or malware issue

    Firefox reset could solve the problem, but who cannot always help permanently if you have unwanted software that are always installed.

  • Search bar default changes setting address bar search

    In the past, I usually kept my search bar on IMDb, since I use that a lot, but I do Google search even more often, so I just type Google search terms into the address bar and hit < Enter >, which has always worked well. It was like having two bars at once, research which was totally awesome. However, having just "updated" Firefox about an hour ago, it now appears that selection of search from the address bar is now linked to the selection of the search bar. When I do a search with the address bar, search that results will invariably to whatever the choice lies in the search bar. I tried to go to topic: config and "reset" the setting of the browser.default.enginename, but he instantly changes to change the setting of the search bar. Please separate the address bar and the search bar back to the way they were before. It is extremely annoying.

    Additional information:

    I just drove my computer where I'm headed back with Firefox 22.0 and immediately corrected behavior itself, which only confirms that there is a problem with the update to the worm 23.0, so I guess I'm stuck 22.0 for now. I also see in the 'What's New' notes for worm 23.0 that ' users can now switch to a new provider of research through the browser everything. " It would be nice if the change apply to 'the whole browser' was optional.
