Administrator of the server & Server Symantec Recovery Option

I'm test v8.02 Server Recovery Option Symantec 12D.  I did a restore a Dell 4400 Server installed with the Installation of the server and Server Manager 4.5 a Dell 2900.  Worked the recovery, but it does not display the PERC 5 / I adapter, (the 4400 had an old PERC 3/di).

I thought I could fix this by installing by overwriting the old version with the New Installation of the server and Server Manager 5.2 supplied with the Dell 2900.

Problem is that every time that I try and do installation, Setup of Server Administrator tells the server I'm is not supported.

Is it possible to re - install the 5.2 Administrator Server?  This should work, he went from an old Dell server to a newer Dell server.

  • IOM server can be started without an administrator of the server running?

    We have configured a 11 GR 2 IOM in high availability environment, we set up two nodes and an administrator of the server, the server administrator is running on node 1, If this node fails for hardware problems, we risk not being able to start the node 2 If this does not work too. The question is: can be Server IOM be launched on node 2 without the administrator of the server running?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you and best regards,

    You can start servers managed weblogic which is running IOM on even when the administrator of the server is down.

    Basically, once there is a managed instance has started successfully (IE with the connection to the server administrator), these details are cached locally to the managed server and it can use that starts when the administration server is not available. This type of startup is called MSI, see http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E28280_01/web.1111/e13708/failures.htm#START162

  • Node Manager or the administrator of the server - which one to start first?

    Hi Experts,

    Somehow I see his way.

    OBIEE 11.1.1.6 | OBIEE

    To start the Oracle Business Intelligence system, you start:

    • the node Manager (It is by default windows service in Enterprise Installation of OBIEE 11 G)
    • the Administration Server (it is weblogic Admin Server)
    • managed servers (comes with the company of OBIEE 11 G Installation)
    • and then you start the components of the system. (All the OBIEE components: BI Server, presentation server, schedular, Java host, Cluster Services.)

    and in other places, I see this...

    OBIEE 11G - starting Oracle Business Intelligence | GerardNico.com (BI, OBIEE, data warehouse and OWB)

    To start the Oracle Business Intelligence system, you start:

    • the Administration Server
    • the Node Manager
    • servers managed,
    • and then you start the components of the system.

    I have Linux environment and there only one BI server and I'll like that.

    (1) script startWeblogic.sh

    (2) startNodeManager.sh

    (3) startManagedWeblogic.sh

    (4) then the system components.

    Hi RM,.

    When it comes to a simple installation you can run on the management server without nodemanager but when you do the installation of the company and trying to bi_server1 (managed server) not to mention the nodemanager.sh you will get the following message. adpatch on the node of the Web/forms will copy the files in the patch directory and generate the files, but not to update the database and in this configuration update of the database will be when you run adpatch on the CM/Admin node (you need to run adpatch on both nodes, but update the database will be when you do it on the Admin/CM node).

    The same for adadmin, you will find that the tasks that are related to the update of the database are not available in the menu adadmin on forms/web node, and the tasks that update the database through adadmin are available on the node running the Admin/CM.

  • How to migrate the production to the server in recovery planning disaster?

    We use planning 11.1.1.3 Oracle repository. Currently our name of the DR Planning Application is different from the production name and Windows of the DR server names are different from Production. Otherwise, any other configuration even.

    How to migrate production planning to the recovery server disaster? We stopped planning on DR server. Then we exported repository Oracle of production planning and it imported in DR Planning. We restarted Dr. DR planning planning seems to work very well, but I'm afraid to click on "Refresh planning" DR Planning - it can update the Production Server. So, how can I be sure that DR and Production planning are disconnected?
    Is there something we need to do? This method seems to be faster than the migration with LCM.

    Published by: Essbase Fan on October 18, 2010 10:11

    You must go about it the right way, if you migrate all planning an application, I agree that it is a safer and faster way.
    The essbase connection information is stored in the planning system database/schema, so as long as you have not migrated that then you should be good to refresh.
    To put your mind at rest, connect to the planning application and change the source of data associated with the application and then you will see where the essbase server is that it's going to update.

  • Data on the server failure recovery

    Hi all

    The rule of thumb: each 1 GB JVM can store 350 MB of data of the real object, assumes that we have 8 GB of data on the consistency, according to the above rule:

    8192/350 = ~ 24 JMVs required = > 24 * 1.2 = 29 ~ GB

    Then we have at least 2 servers of 16G RAM.

    We plan to have 4 virtual machines Java as cache servers on each of the two servers 16 GB as it advocates cannot have more than 4 GB of heap for each node in the cluster.
    I wonder if one of the servers fails, nodes in 4 cluster residing on it go down. If primary and backup of certain data are distributed both within these 4 cluster nodes that descend, then the data is lost even the other server has sufficient capacity for full redundancy.

    Is this correct? If so, how to solve? Is smart enough to put main and in the various boxes, not just different node each time as possible consistency?

    Hi Henry,.

    Not consistency inherently tries to minimize the risk of data loss and automatically checks the backup copy of the data to be kept on a different machine when possible. There is no more adjustment required for it. The StatusHA is the status published by JMX metric of coherence and more details can be found here:

  • How to restore a full backup of the Server 2008 system that has been stored on a BitLocker Drive encrypted?

    I have a requirement to encrypt my server for transport off-site backups, so I'll try to store my backups to an external drive that is encrypted for BitLocker.  I am doing a test restore to a new drive to simulate a full system recovery, but I'm unable to unlock the drive encrypted with the backup of the prompt under system recovery options.

    I have confirmed that I can unlock the drive from a command inside the original Windows installation prompt using manage - bde.wsf and the recoverypassword, but the same command does not work from the command prompt during the recovery process (started from the installation DVD).  There is no error code, a single message that the recovery key did not work and administrator privileges may be required.

    When you try the same command from another server when connected to that drive, I got an error that can be informative, code 0 x 80310037, implying that the recovery key may not because of the FIPS compatible algorithms that are needed.

    I'm looking for something that isn't possible trying to store the complete system on a BitLocker encypted disk backups?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • I want to save an IMAP via POP3 account in Thunderbird, but it will not download old emails that are still on the server. How can I do this?

    I start using Thunderbird to save and purge old e-mails from an account via POP3. This account is accessible by other users using IMAP on their computers and mobile phones.

    I want to archive and purge old messages from the server using Thunderbird. But it will not download messages that apparently are marked as read on the server via IMAP.

    POP mail accounts must be configured to "leave messages on server".
    Check this box before use.

    • Tools > account settings > server for the e-mail account settings

    or

    • menu icon > Options > account settings > server for the e-mail account settings

    Select: 'leave messages on the server.

    Optional: select: "during the more than xx days" this will remove something more that select the specified number of days "until I have delete" when you delete an email it will be deleted from the server.

    Click Ok to save the settings.

    POP mail accounts are only looking at the Inbox and download everything that has not been previously downloaded regardless of whether it has been read or not. They cannot access or download from any other folder on the server.

    If you want to download the e-mail messages in other directories, you must move the emails in the Inbox to upload and it's may not be practical in your situation.

    What you can do is to synchronize your IMAP folders to a copy downloaded to your IMAP e-mail account.
    Then switch mode 'offline' to stop any additional synchronization synchronized files update.
    MozBackup tool could now be used to save the profile synchronization created mbox files that contain emails.

    You can also do the following to get a copy outside the IMAP e-mail account:
    Create the same folders in the "local folders".
    Then right click on the email and "copy to" and select local folders and the folder you need.
    Put a copy in the local files means these e-mails are also on your computer and they are not influenced by what you do in the IMAP folder.
    You need backup emails in these folders.

  • On Thunderbird 24.6, I can't say to leave messages on the server when I download or delete. Why? Where is this area which was in older versions?

    The messages seem to leave the server after I the download or remove them and they are not visible to the user of the joint account. There was to be a check on previous versions of TBird to leave messages on the server, it has now disappeared, or I can't find it because it's been moved.

    This option is at Tools-Account Settings-ServerSettings but is available only if the account is set up as a pop account. Since IMAP accounts are all server based messages are still on the server, and this option is not necessary.

  • Could not start the server via the SOA node Manager

    Hi all

    I try to install AIA 11.1.1.6.0 on top of the SOA Suite 11.1.1.6.0.

    I was able to install the weblogic, UCR, soa and osb servers server correctly. Now, before installing the AIA, the document I am following it says, make sure to start the server soa through the Manager of nodes.

    Now I start to the administrator of the server, then the node Manager, to make sure I checked the node Manager is in place, I logged the weblogic console, went to the Machines, and I see that it's upward and accessible.

    Now using WLST commands, first of all, I have connected to Manager nodes by using the nmConnect() command, so I try to start the server soa through node Manager with the command start ('soa_server1').

    I get an error when you try to start the server with the command nmStart() soa, below is the error message...

    «Error at startup server soa_server1: weblogic.nodemanager.NMException: Exception when starting Server «soa_server1»»

    I ran the command dumpStack(), and I get the output as 'no trace available battery.

    If I am able to start the server soa through the node Manager, I can go ahead and install the pack of AIA, but wrong to let me go forward.

    I also tried to boot the server from soa through the weblogic console, go to the servers tab, select the soa_server1 and start, the State of the soa server will "FAILED_NOT_RESTARTABLE".

    I followed some of those blogs like...

    Hi Patricia,

    I had exactly the same problem some time ago...

    The cause:
    There are two servers trying to run in debug mode and use the same debug port
    -Xrunjdwp: transport = dt_socket, address = 8453, server = y, suspend = n

    Possible solutions:
    1. turn off debugging (this is what I did)
    2 use the various debugging ports to different servers (difficult to do because the servers share the same scripts)

    What worked for me was:
    1. in % DOMAIN_HOME%\bin, I created a script called startWebLogic_nodebug.cmd with the following content:
    %CD%\bin\startWebLogic.cmd /nodebug % *.
    2. in nodemanager.properties, I changed the following property
    StartScriptName = startWebLogic_nodebug.cmd

    Now my servers start without debugging...

    I hope this helps.

    See you soon,.

  • Starting the server managed via the Script

    In our environment Windows, we start the servers managed through the Manager of nodes, but one of our requirements must be able to start managed servers when the administrator of the server (server1) breaks down. I found a way to start the servers managed through the startManagedWeblogic scripts, but they all use the default memory, the classpath and the arguments of the default file (assuming that it becomes startWebLogic.cmd and setDomain.env files). My desirable best practice would be to create a separate server for each of my servers managed script and he's ready to run rather than hack the same file and the differences in memory, the classpath and arguments for each server entry. All in the interest of faster availability.

    So here are my questions:

    (1) I guess I'll make different copies of the startManagedWebLogic.cmd and customize the file for each of them to the memory of managed servers, arguments, and classpath?
    (2) will be customizing all files in startManagedWebLogic.cmd that I copied for each server or the startWebLogic.cmd will changes too? (I assume that anything put in custom scripts startManagedWeblogic.cmd replaces the default values in the startWeblogic.cmd)?.

    I found some useful information in the link below, but he starts from the principle that all of your managed servers have the same memory, the arguments of server startup and railways class, which is rarely true world. I thought I had a job and possible response to this to a point, but can't seem to find it. If details or links that anyone can provide that tells me how to crush the default values and the correct file to update and (b) the details in this file on where and how to upgrade the memory, arguments and classpath (a) will be rewarded largely with large amounts of points :)

    Bingo.

    "Then, there at - it a way to have him pick up the classpath of managed servers nodemanager uses or edits the file commEnv the only way to do it?

    When you use the scripts such as startManagedWebLogic, the commEnv file is the only way.
    When you need to change the server classpath (and all the server need managed the library), you can just drop the
    jar file in the ${DOMAIN_HOME} directory / lib. Jars placed in this directory is automatically added to the system
    classpath.

    Technically, using d2kwutil, it has been used in client/server 6i only is not supported. Creating a directory on the server can be done in different ways. The method chosen will depend on what domain you are stronger and how strict is the security of the server.

    OPTION 1:
    Use the HOST command to run a simple DOS command. You can test to see if the directory already exists in a similar way. Example:

    -- Does directory exist?
    Declare
         WinCdCmd varchar2(3000) := 'cmd /C CD';
         cmd varchar2(2000);

         -- value of :path should be something like C:\ or C:\somedirectory
         searchPath varchar2(1000) := :path;
    Begin

    -- Be sure to add quotes around the path name if it includes blank spaces.
       cmd := WinCdCmd||' "'||searchPath || '"';

       HOST (cmd,no_screen);
       IF NOT form_success THEN

          -- Directory was not found. Do what is necessary to create directory here ...
          HOST ('mkdir "' || :path || '"',NO_SCREEN);

          raise form_trigger_failure;

       END IF;

      message ('Directory found.');
      message ('Directory found.');
      /*
      ... Directory was found so do something with it here ...
      */
    End;

    OPTION 2:
    Write the necessary code in java. Then use the imported forms Java functionality to call java code. You will find examples on the Internet (e.g., Google)

    There may be other options, but option 1 above is probably the easiest to manage. It may be necessary to add additional error handling, but this will depend on your needs.
