Adobe Acrobat Reader Version DC 2015.009.20069 installs PDF plugin for Firefox?

I recently installed Adobe Acrobat Reader Version DC 2015.009.20069, but the PDF plugin for Firefox is the 5.1.0.193 version and Firefox it is obsolete. When I click on the button update Firefox it takes me to the download page for the Version Acrobat Reader DC 2015.009.20069. Acrobat Reader DC is not installed the plugin? Download the plugin separately?

Hi m_lewis,.

Yes, it will update all the components on the BONE. In this scenario, I'll suggest you reboot the machine once and then check out.

Thank you

Abhishek

  • Apparent lists with different versions of PDF plugin for Firefox

Two Firefox 37.0.2 Adobe Acrobat plug-ins are listed:

Adobe Acrobat 11.0.10.32 (Adobe PDF plugin for Firefox and Netscape 11.0.10)

Adobe Acrobat 15.7.20033.2203 (Adobe PDF plugin for Firefox and Netscape 15.7.20033)

All Adobe applications (including the two above) come as part of our Adobe Creative Cloud subscription.

    Questions:

    1. why the two plugins listed?

    2. the two entries represent a plug in handset, or are indeed two different versions of the Adobe Acrobat plugin installed?

    3. How can the apparently older plug-ins be uninstalled?

    Adobe Reader XI (11.0.10)

We have recently updated to Adobe Acrobat DC. It is listed under programs such as:

    Hi BigMacMan,

Both plug-ins are for two different versions of Acrobat. The last (version 15.7...) is for Acrobat DC.

Use the version of Firefox ESR ( http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all.html ) which is the one that Adobe apparently officially supports and works.

  • Can't update Adobe PDF plugin for Firefox & Netscape 9.5.0

    Win 7 / Firefox 10.0.2.
I have problems with the flash player. Almost all sites tell me I need more later to display, download, etc. FF check your site plug-ins using it tells me that the above, must be updated. I click on update, go through the motions, the site of Adobe Reader 10.1.2 clear McAfee, click Yes, I want to save on downloads. I double click on the download. And I wait. Finally, I go through the whole thing again after 15 to 45 minutes. When I click on install, I get a saying that can run only a single instance of this. What do I need to uninstall all my computer adobe programs so that it can be updated? Do - someone suggest?

The latest version is 10.1. Please see this but it looks like the plugin installed version is 9.5. You can check via Tools (Alt + T) > Plugins and also by typing on: plugins in the address bar (Address). If two versions of the plugin are available, you can disable the old version. Please note that it would be that the plugins check page is overloaded and temporarily unavailable at the moment.

  • How to disable the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC tab?

I have Adobe Acrobat Reader Version DC 2015.016.20045

Want a way to disable by default for everyone.

Below does not work in my environment:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\DC\AVGeneral]

    "bSDIMode" = dword:0000000

Thanks for pointing it out, I was in the wrong lane for CD player.

The work in disabling the tab in the registry under:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\DC\AVGeneral]

    "bSDIMode" = DWORD: 00000001

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader DC - failed to access Acrobat Capture Web installation. Acrobat may be busy or waiting for input

At Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro on Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 and used Internet Explorer 10 Version 10.0.9200.17414. In the upper RIGHT of IE, I had Adobe (plug-ins?) option to:

    Convert Web Page to PDF...

Add Web Page in existing PDF...

    Print the Web Page...

    etc.

I used the Web Page Add to... the daily option. I then installed, to fix a different problem, Adobe Acrobat Reader Version DC 2015.008.20082 (later from this post). Now, when I choose to add a Web Page in existing PDF... option, I get the error popup:

Unable to access the installation of Acrobat Capture Web. Acrobat may be busy or waiting for input.

I have searched the WWW of solutions but can't find one. Anyone has any potential ideas?

The free software Adobe Reader doesn't have these features. They are part of Acrobat (not free) - as far as I know; only with the Pro version.

There may be a PDF 'create' a web page associated with an Adobe online subscription services (perhaps PDF Pack).

  • When I updated my Adobe Acrobat plug-ins it uninstalled Adobe Reader and installed Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. Can I use Adobe Reader instead?

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Firefox said that my plugin Adobe Acrobat was outdated, so I've updated. It uninstalled my Adobe Reader Version 11.0.12.18 and replaced it with Adobe Acrobat Reader Version 2015.008.20082 DC. I did not like this program, and more I read there are still bugs in there. I uninstalled the program and reinstalled Adobe Reader Version 11.0.12.18. I went into the menu of options of Firefox under applications and changed the options Adobe to use Adobe Reader as the default application for PDF files. It is a safe choice, or should I leave Firefox dictate what PDF program I use? I am concerned about safety issues. Any opinions?

I think that your question has been answered mainly in this thread: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1079182

In my opinion, you can trust Adobe to keep the series XI Reader updated for awhile. It is completely safe is impossible to know, given that vulnerabilities are often discovered and kept secret.

  • Software Adobe acrobat reader always displays the necessary update, but there is none

When I run a check of my modules, I always get a message of update of the Adobe acrobat reader software, but there is no update available

For some reason Adobe any does always have the latest version of Adobe Reader on its download page. I suggest to use the internal update within Adobe Reader DC Auditor:

    Help > check for updates

Or you can use this reference page:

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader update takes a long time

Lately, whenever I have trying to update Adobe Acrobat Reader on my MacBook Pro, it says "Installing Update" for a very long time (more than 30 min). Why it takes so long?

The normal download for installation of Player isn't final setup, this is a download manager to download the actual installer. Especially on Mac OS X, which doesn't seem to work reliable in all cases. I uninstall Adobe Reader and then start with a new download of the full installer via this link: Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution

  • On windows how to create files pdx today. We must work with adobe acrobat reader.

On windows how to create files pdx today? It should work with Adobe acrobat reader.

I did some research and found you create with Acrobat Catalog, but can not find any sign of it in the installation of Adobe Acrobat 10. How can you get Adobe Catalog?

Is still used in pdx (does still work with Adobe Acrobat reader 10) or people simply use the advanced search for adobe reader 10 actorbat with which you can search the directory of pdf files. ?

This feature is in Acrobat Pro. Acrobat Suite also includes Acrobat Pro and other Adobe applications.

Acrobat Standard doesn't have a catalog.

    What "update you"?

Did you install Adobe Acrobat Reader to thing of error that you were "updated" your version of Acrobat? If so, you should always have Acrobat on your system. Open and use the file > Open to open your pdf files.

And if it works, you need to change your file associations to use Acrobat to open PDFs instead of the free software Acrobat Reader.
