Adobe Application Manager installed 20/05/2013 without Permission

Of course, there are other threads on Adobe Application Manager (AAM) and many unhappy customers.  Yet the saga continues?

My apologies if this question seems redundant to you, but reading through the existing threads I find conflicting messages, the lack of information as to why the MAA is necessary and some apparent problems after using the cleaning tool Creative Suite to remove "Installer of creative cloud".  I'm not looking forward to my PC having problems.  So I'd be thankful some answers straight forward please, so I am well informed and can make the right decision for me!

My o/s; Win 7 64 bit Home Premium

Adobe products installed:

Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard (installed Sept 2008)

Photoshop Elements (installed in January 2013) 11

First items 11 (installed in January 2013)

Adobe Flash Player 11

That's all I need and I didn't ask for all applications of "creative cloud." nor do I intend to do.  So why after all this time Adobe installed on my PC AAM - may 2013 (I see messages about this back in 2012)? I received updates very well.  Has been notified of new updates this week, normally accept (nothing noting something extra) and low and behold there is a new "Adobe Application Manager" program, which took forever to launch after the fact only to eventually introduce a login screen.  God knows what he was doing in the background... and it better NOT have been installing the evaluation version!

I spoke with a representative of Adobe C/S.  He told me that this is how Adobe has chosen to distribute the updates now and in the future.  Despite my distress and the desire to uninstall it, he took the trouble to introduce me to the cleaning tool until I mentioned to see it here in the forums.  Then he pretty much abandoned my concerns with nothing else to do for me.  Who does Adobe think of their customers?

My Questions:

(1) is AAM required to receive updates that I used to receive for the applications that I installed?

(2) not "Creative Suite Cleaner tool" completely uninstall "Adobe Application Manager" by choosing "Creative Cloud Installer"?

(3) Will Adobe sneak this MAO on my PC again during future updates after installation?

(4) my Adobe apps is regarded as 'CC' applications uninstall before removing the "Creative Cloud Installer?

lack of information as to why the MAA is necessary

This is the program that adobe uses to give users their updates/upgrades of our days. It is therefore very important to have this working properly.

You need the Application Manager, you can't get around it (as I know). And no, new trial software does NOT automatically get installed. Adobe has not yet addressed this bass. (But they can if they want... parts just reading the EULA)

11.4 the software may automatically download and install updates from Adobe. These updates are designed to improve and develop the Services and may take the form of bug fixes, enhanced functions, new software modules and completely new versions. As part of your use of the Services, you agree to receive such updates (and permit Adobe to deliver to you, with or without your consent).

Your questions:

(1) Yes, very necessary. Do NOT uninstall it.

(2) no idea. But I recommend to use it.

(3) Yes, because this is the app that will update all your programs when there are updates available.

(4) I'm not quite sure what you mean. But if you have not done anything yet, you should be fine as is. Don't worry the MAO.

  • Creating cloud membership-Adobe Application Manager install problem

I recently signed up for the composition of creative cloud.

I downloaded Adobe Application Manager. (After that I logged on the site of creative cloud)

I can download applications, extract it, and then it fails to start the installation or is unable to complete the installation. (For example on Muse it will fail to exceed the 16%)

My operating system is windows 7. There i7, 1 GB, ram 8 graphics card, /specs etc are not a problem.

I tried to run the installer from adobe cleaner, I uninstalled all adobe products, several times. I have changed the preferences for the location of the download several times. Nothing works.

Also, I run with adminstrator priv adobe application manager.

My windows user account is an administrator.

I waited for hours without any sign of progress.

The program does not report any errors that it just is not to proceed with the installation.

... Ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    OK SOLVED THE PROBLEM

This is certainly not the fix I was hoping, but it works. Essentially a reason any the vcredist exe does not load correctly the internal files in the exe file. What I had to do was use 7zip to extract all of the internal files in the exe file. Then I renamed the primary file inside the executable file that adobe is looking for. Right after it extracted I deleted the default adobe exe file and pasted all the internal files with the primary internal file renamed the default adobe exe file. Worked like a charm

Certainly a pain but at least it works... Also it took me more than 20 hours to solve this problem. So I'm pretty upset.

It was adobes fault beause they should of already extracted the internal files in the program instead of being lazy and leave in the exe file.

  • Problems with the update of Adobe Application Manager to creative cloud

I'm on a macbook pro, Snow Leopard 10.6.8
I have a plan for photoshop CC and it works perfectly (I pay a monthly price for it and it is all ok).

I'd really like the ability to use Creative Cloud sync, in order to have the same settings, when I switch from pc to mac (I use both extensively).

At the moment I have Adobe Application Manager installed on my macbook pro.

Adobe Application Manager is not up-to-date on its own.

If I try to download creative cloud and install it, it opens Adobe Application Manager and stop there. Does not install creative cloud.

I also tried to uninstall MAO, but it seems that I couldn't, so I used the Adobe cleaning tool and I eliminate AAM. Then I downloaded the installer of creative cloud again and I tried to install it, but it installed Adobe Application Manager instead!

    Help!

    Hi Lorenzo,.

For Mac OS Snow leopard Desktop Application 10.6.8 creative Cloud is not compatible. It is compatible with Mac 10.7 and later.

10.6.8 works with Adobe Application Manager only. This is the reason why, regardless of how many times you try to install creative cloud, it will install Adobe Application manager.

  • Installation with Adobe Application Manager number

I have almost all of the applications for the new cloud of Creative Adobe via Adobe Application Manager installed, but has encountered a problem when installing Acrobat X Pro. It would download but then stop in the installation process and not all go further.

I decided to cancel the installation and try to uninstall the old version of Abrobat first. But am still having the same problem.

Now I can not continue installing other applications because it seems that every other Application installers are waiting on the Acrobat X Pro installation program at the end.

Is it possible to empty my cache?

    Thank you.

Sorry I forgot to mention that I've been on a Mac. He is currently working, don't know if it was the solution but I updated my to Lion 10.7.3 10.7.4 opperating system.

  • Adobe Application Manager does not display that Acrobat Pro XI is installed when it was

Adobe Application Manager does not appear that Acrobat Pro XI is installed when it was installed by the Adobe Application Manager. I tried clicking on the button in the application manager Adobe who installs the program again and gives a key to launch the installation program. But the next time Adobe Application Manager starts, it said: Acrobat Pro XI is not installed, when it was installed (and working). I am a subscriber of creative cloud on the Mac (MacOS 10.8.3). platform Adobe Applicationa Manager is version 7.0.0.324.

How can I get Adobe Application Manager to show that the program Acrobat Pro XI is installed?

    Thoughts?

    -john

I tried the suggestion Greg_M #1 first - without success. Then tried the suggestion #2 of Arpit - also without success. However, I discovered that the uninstall program running in 'Applications-> Utilities-> Adobe Installers folder' had not removed the file Acrobat Pro XI (he was still in his file in the Applications). Finally, what worked manages the uninstall program that was in the folder ACROBAT PRO (NOT the utililites folder). When I ran the uninstaller program, I had also ticked the box in preferences to delete (not sure if that matters).

All is well now. When I run Adobe Application Manager it says correctly that Acrobat XI is "installed".

Greg and David thanks for your help/suggestions!

  • Adobe Application Manager - some updates could not be installed

I just rebuilt my OS (Windows Home 64-bit 10) and reloaded my installation CD PS5. When I went to check the updates (there should be some new!), they showed me that there are updates for each product in the suite. I said to update App Manager took about 5 minutes and I was told that none of the updates could be downloaded. ("There was an error downloading this update. Quit and try again later. ") After 4 hours of this, still no luck. I use Kaspersky and I tried with UAC on and outside.

What Miss me? Is there something in the firewall of Kaspersky I need to address? (I can't find anything, but that doesn't mean no it isn't something here.) Anyone have any ideas?

If you install latest Adobe Application Manager, more updates should complete.

  • Error A12E6 when you install Adobe Application Manager

    Hello

I try to install applications Adobe CC and it seems that the only way to proceed is through the Adobe Application Manager.

I can't find the direct download links for DC applications, with the exception of Adobe Acrobat Pro.

I run the Setup with administrator rights.

When you launch the Application Manager, it immediately starts a progress of the update.

The update goes through about 60-70% and always stops. With the error A12E6 or error 43.

Since installation is not going through, there is nothing to uninstall on the application manager. However, I have tried the cleaning tool from Adobe with the option ALL CLEAN, but nothing helped.

I simply don't get the Application Manager installed and therefore cannot get installed CC applications.

A Twitter account about the error about 2 years ago back: Adobe on Twitter: "@James_Fenn no problem." Glad you solved it! ↑ Darrian"

Who recommends to "download your applications here" which is just a link to the page of Adobe CC. If I follow this link to download the apps, it just goes back to the Application Manager which must be installed first.

I managed to uninstall my acrobat pro, but my adobe application manager seems to think that I still have it. I do not see how to download it from adobe and re install. Can anyone help? I spent many hours trying to get my creative cloud version to run after the license of first years has failed. It was a bit of a nightmare and sie Adobe is not easy to get help from.

I spent a few hours trying to untangle a redemption code. I dropped so uninstalled acrobat, because he is no longer works apparently.  I managed to find out how to buy a new redemption code for creative cloud through the Institute where I exposed, but now I can't get a download for my acrobat, one that will work on my macbook pro 2010 running 10.6.8

Navigation in the adobe site was not easy and not very impressed in terms of achieving support for the problems and responses so far. Only no reply emails usually that means logging in time and time again.

Thanks to all of you who tried to help him. I thank can I have managed to sort it out.  It seems that I can not have uninstalled initially, but I could not access the program and all my pdfs, opens in preview.  I found another uninstall program that seems to have done the trick as my adobe application manager is now let me download.

I hope it will do the trick and my thanks to all who responded. Bravo guys. I hope that I won't make the same mistake next year ;-)
