• Adobe Reader 11.0.09 stop responding for 30 seconds after the start

  When starting 11 AR (whether via its icon or a .pdf document), AR starts normally, but after a few seconds the interface freezes and unresponsive for about 30 seconds. Connection at startup with Process Monitor gives the result below (actually two instances, only is indicated). When the second instance times out (I guess this is what happens), AR11 starts responding again.

  

  The problem disappears if the Weblink.api plugin is deleted, with the side unhappy effect as the tool on the right pane also disapperas (replaced by a spinning icon but AR11 otherwise responsive).

  AR11 installed on the server doesn't have any Internet access either. My guess is that AR11 is looking for the host above for some reason any and need some time before it becomes available for use. This is obviously a very poor design and we want to solve somehow... Ideas anyone?

  Workaround. By activating the locking function, we prevented Adobe for trying to muck about online. In fact NSA provides recommendations on how to lock Adobe Reader, google 'Recommendations NSA to configure Adobe Reader XI in a Windows environment'. We only use:

Apple does not solve the problem if you run into something, and adobe has no software open source so that others could provide a patch. I'm agree with your position not to be bullied into buying a subscription for the software with my humble OPINION less than stellar customer service I need to contact once a week, it was the decision of the Adobes.

  I have similar problems, but do not have a definitive answer to Apple. They replaced my D500 cards, graphics & the power supply but the plant still Mac Pro. According to the Apple phone support, looks like my logic board is bad. You will need to visit the Apple Store again to see what happens.
