  The file you are trying to open is (you can see from the name) a BMP, PDF files no file. Adobe Reader can only open PDF files, just so stop trying to open it with Adobe Reader. The app, users of Windows for BMP files is painting.

  Adobe Reader is only able to open the PDF (.pdf) files.  You'll want to use like WinRAR or StuffIt Expander decompression application to decompress your .rar file to access the content that is there.

  Have you tried other pdf files? to check for malware.
