  Try to disable the Safe_mode in Adobe Reader [Edit |] Preferences | (Improved) security].

  I had Adobe Reader installed 10.1.8 om my laptop, and it was not possible to open the e-tickets to PDF from the site www.ns.nl . I was recommended to update the adobe reader software. I did this program inititally, but it did not work. Then, I deleted the Adobe reader from the computer, restarted and downloaded the program from your site. If I open Adobe Reader, it will pop up, but if I click on it, it gives a beep - sound. The menus are gray. Then, I deleted the program again once and installed the old version 10.1.8. The problems are always the same. If I try to open a PDF from my hard drive, the program opens for a few seconds, then disappears. What can be the cause and the solution?   A few things to try (XI player)...

  • Using Windows Explorer navigate to C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader, and then double-click Eula.exe and accept the license agreement
  • You can open Adobe Reader by itself?  If so, try to disable the Protected Mode [Edit |] Preferences | (Improved) security].
  • If Reader opens in itself, try to disable the Safe_mode in the registry; Download, unzip, then run the attached registry script
