I know that many of you who have taken the time to join this forum are very experienced users and are much more aware of the changes in the new OS I am. Your contribution would be very appreciated. I just read an article that said that phones nexus would have Google update dialer as part of the Kit Kat. Anyone know if there is any truth to that? I was really looking forward to this feature.

• Lost restore images...

I lost my HP Netbook restore images skillfully and now I want to remove Linux and using the machine as a WIndows computer again.

Is there a way I can get these images of HP? I would just buy a copy of Windows Starter, but I can't find a source, and I strongly suspect that another version of Windows won't slip into a 2GB machine.

• After restoring image system, content of the disc do not match

I feel like every time I think I have this darn computer fixed, another problem appears...

Okay, so after much headache, I was able to restore the Boot Camp from a virtual hard disk image... however... what OSX sees the contents of the drive BOOTCAMP and what BOOTCAMP sees self are completely different.

According to OSX, here is the content:

Kenz$ ~: cd/Volumes/BOOTCAMP /.

Kenz$ ~: ls

$Recycle.Bin / program Files / users /.

BOOTSECT. BAK program files (x 86) / Windows /.

Start / ProgramData / WindowsImageBackup.

DRIVERS / RHDSetup.log* bootmgr *.

Documents and Settings / recovery / hiberfil.sys*

Intel / Recovery.txt* pagefile.sys*

PerfLogs / System Volume Information.

What the reader was like before restoring the system's yet OSX still think it's what's on the disc...

Seen on Windows, for comparison, here is the content:

Directory of C:\

In my view, that is a problem OSX, as I need to reset the memory of the BOOTCAMP volume or something.

I disassembled that re-mounted disk, reset the NVRAM/PRAM memory disabilities Tuxera NTFS... but it shows again that content.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem? While I could leave it alone since the OSX and Windows and start properly, I would create an image of WinClone of Boot Camp, and in this situation, it would probably be to create a picture of the wrong thing, then I would like to than OSX to see the disc properly. The determining factor here is I would like to take advantage of the free upgrade to Windows 10, but I want to be able to roll back to where I was in the worst case scenario.

On the side of OS X, you disassemble and reassemble the Bootcamp partition? Tuxera can complicate and lead to corruption.

• Recovery Manager does not restore image on HP Pavilion p6227uk [Windows 7]

Hello

Currently, I'm trying to reformat my HP Pavilion P6227uk, running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

I reformatted this machine once before (a couple of years) using recovery disks created by the system. I saved these same recovery discs to reformat, I try now to complete.

So far I performed the steps in the order as I did before - place the CD1 in the drive, boot from the CD, run a disk factory reset. First time I tried, she returned with the error message almost immediately, he does not reformat (or something to that effect) with this error code: 0xe0ef0002 and instructions for "contact HP support. AT 01:00. You must be kidding.

I tried again and got exactly the same result. Decide to leave for another day, when the support would be around, I tried to boot normally (with the disc from the drive). This time, I got a black screen with white, printed on the top left text:

BOOTMGR is missing

CTRL-Alt-Del to restart

Oh good God. I rebooted and tried to get to the system recovery. Nada, BOOTMGR is still missing. I put the recovery in drive and started to Recovery Manager disk and proceeds to try every single diagnostic at my disposal. Nothing's wrong, apparently, except for not being able to start Windows. Get a bit peeved (I have a disorder that leaves me open to huge bursts of anger, this did not help), I decided to try the Factory Reset. Oddly enough, it doesn't give me an error message, but seemed to be progress in the "Factory image restore. 4% and then 8% - and it's been stuck at 8% for the last 12 hours at least. I don't particularly want to turn it off for the risk of breaking something - even if Recovery Manager seems pretty broken as it is. There is a blue arrow pointing to 'Reformat the partition of your hard disk Windows' and that's all. No button is available (except the red X), nothing seems to happen anywhere. Extremely disappointed.

Any help would be appreciated. I'll be phoning HP support tomorrow to get answers, although I don't have a particularly good story to keep my mood level when you speak with assistants and on pending emails is not my thing either - I saved important files on an internal HARD drive before you start (disconnected the motherboard HARD drive) and the hours of waiting and hours for email support is not an option.

Thank you in advance, from the bottom of my heart. It couldn't have come at a worse time.

-JR

Hi, JR:

While I can't help you with the problem of specific recovery disk (and is probably impossible anyway), I have a solution to your dilemma...

If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.

Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.

Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.

The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.

Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.

• Psvilion 15 t n200: network adapter driver is not found after Sys restored Image

In order to do a "Quick & clean" upgrade of a dv6 to 15 t, I restored an Image of my Dv6 to 15 t system. Windows 7 installs and recognizes the cpu and RAM, but does not recognize the new drive size or especially the network card. No driver available for ethernet or network or usb 3.0 controllers. I downloaded and installed via external HARD drive all the graphics and network of the technical support site HP.com drivers.

Still no LAN or Wireless connectivity.

Was my Quick & clean strategy a great idea that doean can't just work technically?

Thank you

You are the very welcome.

Since this is a forum for peer to peer and I am not employed by, nor do I represent HP, I wouldn't be able to answer your question about why they have not all the right drivers on a special support page.

For your model, it seems that it is not supported by HP for W7 64 bit, since there is a very incomplete set of the drivers listed.

If you use HDMI output or mirror of the screen of your PC, the windows update driver wrecks installed its hdmi output.

I have the same graphics card than yours, and I leave the same windows update install the new driver.

When I the screen mirrored by PC for my smart TV, the sound was all choppy after this update.

I installed this new driver from Intel which also includes HDMI audio driver, and that fixed the problem of jerky noise.

The first file listed is the automatic installation file.

I suggest that to start a new post on the docking station. I don't have any experience with those who and how to use the disk management tool.

I'm helping a friend with a model MS2394 recover from a malware infection. Since it's not really use the laptop for anything other than the browser, I recommend a restoration to the image of the factory which is Windows 7. The OS has been upgraded to Windows 10 via the Microsoft upgrade process and want to be sure that back to W7 will not cause more problems. I would appreciate any idea that anyone can offer.

• Why HP only allow more big hard drives and SSD when restoring Images of original & software OS system?

8.1 Windows recently damaged my PC h8-1559 (still under warranty). All was not if badly grown f11 empty blue screen and boot BSOD loop was the only thing besides the BIOS that I could see. I must have spent days trying to get Win 8 on my SSD after you purchase this month of PC. Now I have to restore PC to original specifications and again migrate the OS back to SSD. Not really a problem I expect no support, given how much anti-'customize' computers became under software and hardware developers who blame or place the responsibility on each other for the most part.

I just want to know:

That HP decided smaller HDD and SSD should never be allowed to use the pre-built PCs and why? More importantly, why has it remained for many years after many complaints over the years? Thank you.

Hey Hastatus

I can understand your frustration, but the smaller reader that works is 160 GB. The way the image is put on the disk and extended requires a lot of partitions and each of them is created to a certain height, these sizes were decided before the SSD, and when disk space was not that great, a case, but it was arbitrary. As SSD became more popular and used in some of our systems we made some special changes in plants in order to allow a 60 GB drive to use. But the changes were not made to any other builds, there was not only considered.

As SSD became more popular, they are also grew in size, so the decision was made to leave the requirement of 160 GB. It's not a way to go back and change to the older, but we will spend this feedback to our engineering teams.

Bottom line - usable - more small disk 160 GB regardless of the type (HDD or SSD).

Sorry not information just solution.

• System restore image fails - missing Bootmgr

Recently bought more large hard drive to my PC at home - the system Windows 7 (from my old HD) image successfully created using native Windows 7 system image utility.

When you try to load the image on my new HD, it seems to work fine, however start fails with "Bootmgr" is missing error.

Have tried to use the restoration of utility system Windows 7 installation disc, but that does not solve the problem.

THX in advance for any idea / help

Hello

Windows 7 creates a 'Active' partition (drive Q in general) that the system boots from. You got the fine image, but probably not the Q score he needs to boot from. This partition is usually 100 mb in size and the beginning of the disc.

Here's what I would try first.

1) boot from the Windows 7 DVD and install it. Don't bother entering your key.
(2) when it is finished, apply your custom image on the new installation of Windows on the C partition as you did before. This should wipe the installation we just did and replace with your image. The boot partition will be set up and you should be good to go.

I hope that this help... is not myself, but it should work fine. Mark <> Microsoft Partner
