software Adobe reader does not work

I had Adobe Reader installed 10.1.8 om my laptop, and it was not possible to open the e-tickets to PDF from the site www.ns.nl . I was recommended to update the adobe reader software. I did this program inititally, but it did not work. Then, I deleted the Adobe reader from the computer, restarted and downloaded the program from your site. If I open Adobe Reader, it will pop up, but if I click on it, it gives a beep - sound. The menus are gray. Then, I deleted the program again once and installed the old version 10.1.8. The problems are always the same. If I try to open a PDF from my hard drive, the program opens for a few seconds, then disappears. What can be the cause and the solution? I have Windows 7, 64-bit version, and I downloaded the program in Internet Explorer 10. Thanks in advance, best regards Mirjam Koreman

A few things to try (XI player)...

  • Using Windows Explorer navigate to C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader, and then double-click Eula.exe and accept the license agreement
  • You can open Adobe Reader by itself?  If so, try to disable the Protected Mode [Edit |] Preferences | (Improved) security].
  • If Reader opens in itself, try to disable the Safe_mode in the registry; Download, unzip, then run the attached registry script

    I managed to fix it.  I found the Mr. Fix It tool on the Microsoft Web site and who was running, and it worked.  He fixed the corrupted registry file and allowed me to install the player.  I had tried it once before, but it has not been successful.  This time, it worked.

    Just guessing, but if you're running Windows (which we don't know), you can try Windows Explorer, navigate to C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader, and then double-click Eula.exe and accept the license agreement.

    If you go into your applications folder (go > Applications) you have Adobe Reader in there? If you open Adobe Reader, choose file > open are you able to open a pdf file?

    If you generate files with anything before % PDF, these files are faulty. It is never allowed, but player used to tolerate it for compatibility with an obscure format Mac.

    20/09/2014: had the Mavericks for ~ 1 month. Acrobat Reader from Adobe work very well.

    OS X Got notice of Acrobat update 10.9.4. I did and it could not be updated and got the above message! V. 10.1.12. I searched and found Acrobat v. 11.0.07, I trashed/uninstalled Adobe Reader 10. app & also trashed; Adobe Acrobat.com.app folder.

    I D/L new software Adobe Acrobat Reader v. 11.0.07. It worked fine!

    Then I upgraded OS X in v. 10.9.5. new software Adobe Acrobat Reader v. 11.0.07. Always worked well!  Hours later, he failed to start with the error message above again!

    (Crash newspapers available if necessary to solve this problem)

    Now using Mac preview to open PDF files.

    BTW, I clicked on 'get Info' on the reader app & see that a box has been ticked "open in 32-bit mode". Given that my Mac is 64-bit, I unchecked that box & tried again launch & same exact error.

    Please try unistalling Adobe Reader and system cleaning by the following steps:

    1. go to/Applications/Adobe Reader.app. Drag and drop this app in the trash.

    2. go to the Internet plug-ins present in the System/Library/Internet Plug-Ins library - / and put the following in the Trash:

    (a) / Library/Internet Plug-Ins/AdobePDFViewer.plugin

    (b) / Library/Internet Plug-Ins/AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin

    3. go to/Library/Application Support / Adobe and move the following files to the Trash:

    (a) / Library/Application Support/Adobe/Reader

    (b) / Library/Application Support/Adobe/HelpCfg

    4. go to /Library/Preferences/com.adobe.acrobat.pdfviewer.plist and place this plist in the trash.

    Restart your Mac.Try install Adobe Reader ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/mac/11.x/11.0.09/en_US/AdbeRdr11009_en_US.dmg 11.0.09

    For me, the matter is simple, and the reason why the SD card reader is not working, it's just a driver compatible isn't installed.
    My theory seems to be correct, given that the SM bus controller and PCI simple communication controller appear in Device Manager and I suppose that one of these devices belongs to the player/controller of the SD card.

    I think that you should simply install this Realtek card reader controller that I found on the page of the Toshiba UE driver

    Did you uninstall the driver of the fingerprint in before Device Manager?

    To use the download I you provided, you will need to uninstall the driver again.

    • Open the Device Manager
    • Search for biometric devices
    • Under biometric devices, look for the device (called Validity Sensor sensor AuthenTec)
    • Right-click on the fingerprint sensor
    • Click on uninstall
    • Restart your computer.
