Adobe Reader issues after uninstall

Screen Shot 2014-04-22 at 3.07.25 PM.png

I have adobe READER of my Mac uninstall.  I needed to complete a job application, but I really didn't have a useless file on my computer.  After I deleted it, whenever I tried to open a PDF file, the image above appeared.  MAC uses the preview to display a PDF file and this is the default value, so I don't know why the file requires adobe, especially since I don't need Adobe to open this file before.

I'm sorry. I didn't know from the information you were trying to open in a web browser.

Here's a solution:

"Disable the integration of Safari, delete the AdobePDFViewer.plugin from/Library/Internet Plug - ins"

  • Adobe reader doesn't "uninstall."

I can't print a PDF or download a PDF file on the web since the download of adobe reader software 9.  The previous version (reader 8) could not uninstall and I am unable to use 'remove program' to remove any version of the player.   The error message reads, patch cannot be found.

Can anyone offer a solution?  I think I need to uninstall all files of adobe and reinstall again, but can not do with Add/Remove programs.

You can try to run this Microsoft fix and uninstall all traces of all versions of reader:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall

If you want to reinstall the drive, download the full installer

    http://get.Adobe.com/reader/Enterprise/

After downloading, restart your computer and run the Setup program before anything else.

  • Download Adobe Reader issue

I can't download Adobe Reader on my PC.  I have Microsoft 7 OS and McAfee Security Scan Plus.  I downloaded Adobe Reader on the other computers in the past but have failed repeatedly with this one!  I continue to receive messages after the download process by telling me there was an error in the process (the error varies).  Help, please...

You can try to use this tool first remove all traces of your computer:

    http://labs.Adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html

Then you can download the complete player offline installer from

    http://get.Adobe.com/reader/Enterprise/

After downloading, restart your computer and run the Setup program before anything else.

    Ah, I understand.  See http://www.uninstallonmac.com/how-to-uninstall-adobe-reader-on-mac-os-x/

10.1.4, however, is not clear; You must at least upgrade to the latest version of Reader X 10.1.11

    • Using Windows Explorer navigate to C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader, and then double-click Eula.exe and accept the license agreement
    • You can open Adobe Reader by itself?  If so, try to disable the Protected Mode [Edit |] Preferences | (Improved) security].
    • If Reader opens in itself, try to disable the Safe_mode in the registry; Download, unzip, then run the attached registry script
    • It might even be a malware problem; See http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/reader-core-dll-error.html
  • Update on Adobe Reader issue

This is the 2nd time I tried to download an update to Adobe Reader that was necessary for reasons of security to PDF files.  When I try to download I get the box indicating that it is downloading, but at the end of an hour, it seems that it's always the download and I am not able to get away from the window, restart the computer or shut down to stop the download process.  It's very frustrating.  What can I do?

Here's the Player downloads, including updates for reader 9: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?platform=windows&product=10

but you might want to just uninstall reader 9 and download and install the latest version of the player.

  • Adobe Reader hangs after opening a document

This is a recurring problem with Adobe Reader.

Shortly after opening a document, the reader freezes for a few seconds. Who knows why, there probably accessing the network or tries to do something smart, which results in the user not being able to read the paper for a while.

I tried to disable the 'smart' options as much as I could, but without success. Could someone work around this bug to Adobe Reader without end?

I admit that I am tired of this monster of a program, why can't Adobe keep the reader a light application, instead of throwing all those useless features, ads and other uglinesses...?

The best solution was really throw Adobe Acrobat Reader and install Foxit Reader instead. Thanks anyway.

  • Firefox tells me to update Adobe Reader and after I try to do Adobe said that I already have the latest version.

Firefox shows that my Adobe Reader software must be updated to version 11.0.84 and when I try to update Adobe Reader, it tells me that I already have.

I also did an update of Firefox and I still have the same problem. I use Windows XP SP3. I don't know what to do. Thank you. Please tell me what I should do next.

    Thank you.

Adobe only offers versions of basic as a full download.
If there is a newer version then you must always run the update of the player until you get is no longer a proposed update.

For Adobe Reader, which is 11.0.8 as you can see from what the above posted other versions web page.

If you have updated to the latest version of AR which is available for your OS (XP SP3) then you are fine and can ignore the page check plugin: the plugin AR.

  • How can I activate Adobe Reader Pro after I bought it?

I recently downloaded Adobe Reader and I needed to edit the text in a PDF document under Tools, edit pdf, there is a prompt that displays "Upgrade to Pro" to edit PDFS. He pushed me to this home page: Subscription Options | Adobe Acrobat Pro and I put in my information billing and subscribed membership. I find nothing in the dashboard of the UI which indicate a serial number or account number, that I need to put in my Adobe Reader Office to improve it and unlock this feature and I can't seem to find any connection on the system of preferences in the desktop application. How to translate the upgrade on the desktop?

    Thank you!

    Adelle

Unlike some of the other subscriptions, this is not unlock Adobe Reader. On the contrary, it is a completely new product and separate, you need to download and install. Then, you will have BOTH and can run that you want to use - do not rely on double click on a PDF file more.

  • Security in adobe reader issue

I downloaded a PDF file to adobe reader, and then saved, now when I try and see, it tells me that the file is secure and "acrobat (which I did not) does not allow the connection to: (a specific Web site). I think I inadvertently said no to a question that popped up on my screen while allowing the file to this particular Web site to do something (?) when I open fist. I think the site could be mentioned in my PDF. I think I may need to take the security out of this Web site, so that I can see the PDF file. How can I fix? The help section was directed to improved security and then the tray to sand-then I was lost? I also deleted the PDF file and re-uploaded and the same thing is there. Help me, please. Thank you.

To reset the warning go to Edition - Preferences - general and click "reset all warnings.

However, you cannot remove a security policy by using the player, but I don't think that was required in this case.

Just click on the button above and then reopen the file and allow it to connect to the server. It is probably part of a DRM protection strategy that requires to communicate with a server online before allowing you to open the file.

  • Adobe Reader issue

I'm filling out a job application with fields to fill with data.  When I fill out a field, another field is automatically filled with the same information. Is there a way to disable an auto fill feature or anything happens?

It's normal. All the fields with the same name will be the same content. Only the creator of the form may change that.

  • Recommended Firefox I uninstall adobe reader software that I think my system because of bad reviews. That will effect my programs adobe as a whole?

I'll always be able to open PDF documents in my web browser if the adobe reader software is uninstalled?

Firefox has a built-in PDF file reader.
    https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/view-PDF-files-Firefox-without-downloading-them

The problem with Adobe Reader isn't the popularity or 'poor user comments', it is because there are several security issues with Adobe products, which never seem to get fixed. Most web browsers have their own daughter PDF readers these days, which allow the user to view these files in the browser without needing a plugin.
