  There is currently a known issue with Adobe Reader 10.1.2.

  Temporarily, you can solve the problem by using one of the workarounds in the post on the forum below:

  Most people find this solution 2 is the one that works the best, but it slightly decreases the security of Adobe Reader. So better for re - enable Protected Mode when you are not printing.

  The reason you see this error because environmental contexts on your computer conflicts or anti-virus as shown here: Adobe Reader could not open Protected Mode due to a problem with the configuration of your system and change the registry settings is not a good idea.

  Try following the steps:

  1 repair drive installation, launch Reader > go to help menu > click on repair installation.

  Step 2 - If 1 doesn't work, remove the drive using found here cleaning tool: Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat cleaning - Adobe Labs tool then download and install Adobe Reader here: Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution, restart the computer and launch Reader.

  You can activate certain player features, such as the signature and recording, allowing the reader to the document in Acrobat. Exactly how do you this depends on which version of Acrobat you are using:

  A9: Advanced > extend features in Adobe Reader

  A10: File > save as > Reader Extended PDF > activate additional features

  A11: File > save as other > Reader Extended PDF > activate tools plus (includes filling form & save)

  If that doesn't help, can you give me more information on this "blue screen"; It's like a BSOD when Windows crashes or something that opens in Windows?
