  So I can't say 100% positive that this didn't happen in 2014, but I don't remember.   I've isolated being only on the layers that have a linear color key effect applied.

  I'd be able to layers of scale with a linear key to zero effect?  I'm still a little new to AE.

  It seems that the issue related to the Bios. Have you tried to put update or reflash?

  Start > Control Panel > programs and features > click on your Office installation > click Change > repair
