After the update, I can't check my mail?

After update of El Capitan, my mailbox keeps validating and I can't get past this.

The new version of Mail stores its database in a different format that the old, so the database must be converted before Mail can use it. Sometimes, the conversion fails because the old database is damaged, or because of a bug in the conversion code.

What you should do depends on what type of e-mail accounts you have. The first step, no matter what you do, is to save all the data, if you don't have a current backup.

Please read this post in full before anything else. If this is unclear, ask for clarification before taking a step. If you're not convinced that you can follow instructions, stop, don't change anything.

A. Si you know that you have IMAP or Exchange only e-mail accounts

The easy way to recover is to delete the old database and start over. You can do this without losing all the messages, provided that:

☞ All your incoming mail accounts are on an IMAP or Exchange Server

☞ You store messages sent on the server

☞ You have no mailboxes "on my Mac".

Independent mail services the best-known as iCloud and Gmail are inspired by the IMAP. On the other hand, hosted by ISP e-mail services often use pop. If your ISP is one of your providers of mail services (or the only), you cannot use this procedure. See below part B in this case.

If the above conditions are met, please continue to do so.

Quit Mail runs.

Open your home folder's library folder by pressing the option key and selection

Go ▹ library

in the Finder menu bar. Inside, it is a subfolder named "mail". Move this folder on the desktop. You do not move the e-mail application; you move a folder named "mail".

Launch of Mail. The mailboxes must be restored automatically. The messages will be downloaded from the servers, so it can take a long time if you have very large mailboxes. Some people have mailboxes in the gigabyte range, and which can be a problem if the bandwidth is measured or the Internet connection is slow.

If the mailboxes are restored successfully, you can delete the folder that you moved to the desktop. You may have to re-create your rules, signatures and custom stationery Mail. If it's important for you not to have to do these things, ask for instructions before you delete the folder.

B. Si you have a POP or "on my Mac" mailbox store, or if you don't know what you have

Move the folder of mail on the desktop as in the part has and open.

Press the key combination command + F to search. In the line of chips to search along the upper part of the window, select "Mail". Below, defined as the search criteria

The name ends with mbox

Results of the research will be a list of folders with a name ending with '.mbox '. Each of them represents a box the letters.

Launch of Mail. All mailboxes will be empty at the beginning, but if you have any IMAP or Exchange mailbox (including iCloud), they should fill in automatically after a delay, as in part A. If you have now all the messages you want to keep, you can stop here. Otherwise, import from mailboxes in the search results. The article of support related, select

as import format. You'll probably want to jump boxes to letters with names such as "Deleted Messages", "Junk", "Spam", or "Trash". Some may be duplicates of what you already; those that you can remove.

In some cases, a mailbox may fail with an error to import. If this happens, thanks for posting your results.

If all the mailboxes that you want to import do successfully, you can delete the mail on the desktop folder.

  • After the update I can't save my files in iCloud?

    Theres no link to the bottom of the left side of the savings don't page... is there a way I can still do it? What devices, it is can't find the source iClouds file to record directly on it. Just a note, in addition, all other program sakes to iCloud but adobe!

    Adobe Photoshop CC2015 Settings folder is located in the hidden user library.

    Follow these instructions:

    1. open Finder

    3. click on menu go and press and hold option that would allow the library hidden under the menu option to go to.

    • If you are unable to find this hidden library, then click go to the file menu go and type ~/library

    4. open the Preferences folder

    5 rename Adobe Photoshop CC2015 Adobe Photoshop CC2015 settings-old settings

  • I have 3 versions of Photoshop CC and 2 versions of first CC installed on my computer after the update. Can I uninstall one of them?

    After my laptop updated my applications, I now Photoshop CC (32 bit), Photoshop CC (64-bit) and Photoshop CC (2014) display installed on my computer. I also shows CC first and first CC (2014). Can I uninstall these they take up valuable space on my primary SSD? Help, please. It sounds ridiculous.

    Whenever Apple says that "restore your device" or "Exchange your device" which is the answer the more B.S. ever and is the last option, not the first.

    In addition, Apple, if you're reading this, I'd appreciate a battery that works above 40 degrees.  Samsung works well below zero, but the iPhone stops and asks to plug you because it's too cold below 40 degrees.  Your answer to my question was "our batteries are assessed to the don't work from 32 degrees.  Failure of engineering.

    1. at this point of time you can cancel the reboot and back up all your data and close all applications that are open and restart the computer to make the changes.
    Once the computer restarts view the Windows update history and check if updates are installed.

    I am currently charged monthly for a single application, Indesign, and today I've updated to version 2015 and now can't access the program. My account shows no more than my subscription and asks me to sign up again. I was just billed August 21, 2015 and using the program yesterday. After the updated 2015 I seem to have lost my access and membership. I don't wan to register again and be doubly charged monthly.

  • After installing the updates I can no longer access the internet.

    Lan/isp connections still work and I do not have access to electronic mail. It's just the internet connection. When I do a system restore, the internet connection works again. This problem occurred the first day of the updated version (14 I think). I tried to install twice since then, and both times the same thing happened.

    It is a system at home and I am running Windows Vista on my desktop. Cox cable is my ISP. I also have a cisco wireless router, a laptop running windows 7 and a network printer. The computer laptop and printer still function well after the update. Only, I lose the internet connection on the desktop?

    Got a solution - not ideal because I don't always know what's going on or why...

    So - I just encountered the same problem on my first import since the update.  I have a default to apply the average contrast curve to import.

    Fast/temp fix: in library view, select all the pictures, and then change the preset saved 'default' or 'zero '. or to expand the view, select the same default or reset.  Then change back to the average contrast curve... Might work for any option that you select, but that's what I used.
