After trying to network my computers, I am unable to get online with them.
I am running Windows Vista. I tried in my office network, and 2 separate laptops and do not know what I did wrong. I can access Internet from my office, but can no longer access the Internet wirelessly from a laptop. Is it possible to remove the wireless networks currently install and start over? I have a Linksys router. Everything worked fine until I tried to network, now, just trying to get back where it was originally so I can connect by wireless. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
You may need to check the settings of the router. Sometimes the wireless router is setup by default to block physically connected devices who are wireless. You can add manually wireless networks if go to control panel-> Network Center control and sharing Center-> manage wireless networks to remove manually and add the network back. But you can generally if you analyze wireless networks it automatically detect security settings and you just have to type the password again.

I am trying to connect 2 laptops via a netgear WiFi router. When you look at the network (in windows Explorer), I see the mobile xp on windows 7) but I get a message that I don't have permission to access.
I checked the groups and even changed to be sure I was right.
Checked all the boxes of distance that I could find,
I even settle down as a user on the XP laptop.
The remote control has all the laptops listed, but I am limited to connect to a XP Home addition. Can you help me

Networking two computers - one running Windows XP and Windows 7.
I just got this new laptop yeaterday which has Windows 7. My other laptop that I am trying to network with some (or share a home group) works on Windows XP. I have zero chance having these computers recognizing each other or another share. Any ideas out there? Thank you!
Hello
You use the work (Home) network, homegroup.
Maybe this can help.Win7 when configured on the peer-to-peer network has three types of configurations of sharing.
Homegroup = only works between Win 7 computers. This type of configuration, it is very easy to entry level users to start sharing network.
Network of home or work = fundamentally similar (and better) to the previous Working Group sharing methods which allow you to control what, how and to whom the records would be shared with.
Public share = network Public (as Internet Café) in order to reduce security risks. To get best results connect to each computer system screen and set all the computers to be on a bearing the same name of Working Group , while each computer has its own unique name.

I have problems to connect to my network wireless computers in my house running XP Pro.
Hello. I have problems to connect to my network wireless computers in my house running XP Pro. I set up my wireless router to use WPA - PSK encryption. When I type in the passphrase on computers running XP in my house, I get an error message indicating that the password must be 5 to 13 ASCII characters or 10 to 26 characters in hexadecimal. It doesn't even seem like it checks the password. The error immediately.
I tried to connect to the network using my work running Windows 7 laptop and it works fine. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
original title: cannot connect wirelessGo, I tried and it worked was that you have to be sure what parameters you have set when you set the security of your are wireless (for example the Type of security, Encryption Type etc.) and they have to be compatible with the version of your laptop.
Older versions usually have 64bitWEP or WEP 128 bit and newer versions have WPA, WPA2-Personal (PSK).The 64-bit and 128-bit require 5 or 13 characters. These characters can be obtained when you configure the wireless (it will ask you to put the characters and the characters will be automatically converted to hexadecimal characters, which it must be remembered that they are the password wireless).
WPA or WPA2 - Personal (PSK) are easier to implement and the passwords are normal characters that you want it to be.
Then go to your security wireless set up the page and re - configure the password or the type of network and it should help

I lost my laptop screen after trying to set my display properties. I reformatted recently, everything seemed to work, I loaded SP2 who gave me the poor quality screen while trying to fix it. Now, I get the Dell logo and Microsoft Windows XP, then a blue black screen... but I can hear loader behind it. What gives?

Start the computer in safe mode (press F8 continuously immediately after power and don't worry beeps when you press the button) and let it boot without a network. Once there right click on the desktop and then click Properties. Click settings and the value of the monitor mode (640 X 480) VGA or SVGA (800 X 600). Accept the changes and restart the computer. You should have a mediocre screen, but you should see it now. Download and install the appropriate drivers for your video card in the laptop to the web site of the manufacturer of the laptop. Install the drivers and then you should be able to set the display of the laptop to the correct native resolution for your computer monitor (must be in the documentation of the laptop). -

After trying to install a printer, Epsom SX130, on Windows 7, WORD has stopped working - have tried uninstall & restore but still cannot use WORD. After paying only £ 65.00 to restore the office, I'm very unhappy. It is the only document that we need to print, others may be sent by e-mail, but now I can't even open Word documents to use as attachments to an email. I'm totally desperate, do we buy a 'small' I wonder. More than 60 years, when I started it, maybe I was just too old or it's Windows 7 just make my / our life uncomfortable for us to update: Please keep in mind, I'm very, very, ridiculous with computers. We have done with a drive by the way if that makes a difference & downloaded an update. If the answer is "not compatible" that's fine, I can make documents on the old computer, BUT need words for emails: i.e. repeat orders etc. which are vital to our system of new physicians.
Am totally fed up now...
Hello

The office and the Dell connect to Acer but not to each other, and Acer will not link to one of them. When I try to connect, they ask for a user name and a password, but there is no password for them. Any ideas?

System keeps asking for password after trying to change from 32-bit to 64-bit
I had to do another residential group to work on my computer. My password expired on my default side or administrator, the main façade of the computer where I worked on a year. I apologize I learn the computer language. I CAN NOT ENTER THE SIDE I NEED TO BE WORKING on. NOW I can't do anything on my side again without poping administrator and will ask for a password. can not download, change settings, nothing. also, I was in the process by changing my windows 7 home 32-bit to a 64-bit that came with my computer. A tech friend said he had to reinstall windows and it has installed a 32-bit. my product key for windows 7 home is on the side of the computer for some reason, he didn't use it. I can't reinstall my windows 64-bit because the administrator request password. I can't do anything.
Boot from the Windows 7 DVD
Click Install now
Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.
You will receive the following warning:
The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.
(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK
The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.
Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.
You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.
