  Hi Ed,

  Adobe Reader can open .pdf files. Please make sure you choose the appropriate program to open email attachments.

  For example: .xlsx is a MS Excel file & .doc is MS Word file.

  If the external application allows you to display content accepts arguments especially (bytes or string or streamdata) you can pass the data directly to the application as parameters. In this case there is no need to save the file, unless you need the file for the process to come.

  If the external application is not accepts any parameter related to this, I hope no other way then by saving the file.

  You seem to have an error in your file associations.  Right click on a PDF file, choose open with, select Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader (depending on what you have; there is no such thing as 'Adobe 7'), check the box "always use the selected... program. ", and then click OK.

  Update your program Acrobat or Reader, if you can.  V7 is old and has safety problems.

  I will try to answer some of the questions. I could spend the graphic problems for those who do better in those, or at least don't expect a lot of any answer I give in this area.

  PDF Maker with AA9 uses a different process than previous versions where PDF Maker was simply a pre-processor for the printer (insertion of PDF to create links and other brands). I guess you've discovered that PDF Maker does not produce the distilled version you want. I know not why your home printing (think that's what you use) must be version distilled, unless they're trying just to be sure, it is compatible with Acrobat. However, tags and such PDF Maker may be the problem, don't know. In any case, printing to the Adobe PDF printer will create the version distilled as you discovered! There will be no markup, such as bookmarks and hard links, in the printed version.

  I will not say PDF Maker do not distill the document, but apparently the message does not give you the results you need. DOC, DOCX and PDF files cannot be opened in distilling. Distiller processes only the files PS and EPS, period. When you try to convert in the menu "create from file" in Acrobat, PDF Maker is basically a process that is used for most of the files if your application has this option. Otherwise, I think they use the operating system print option to print to the Adobe PDF printer. I haven't played much with it and make an assumption of the process.

  The complete help in the HELP menu is the manual of 300 or more pages.

  Transparency is perhaps not what you think. It is a transparent graphic that allows what is behind to show through in a sense. Several packages transparent graphic support, but Acrobat used to have problems with these types of graphics until the latest versions of little.   Agrivated after myself, I found the problem.  And it's simple!  I hope it works for everyone, always in need of response.  So I upgraded to Win Xp 32 bit to 7 64 bit.  I had a 39 + GB Easy Transfer file.  I was getting the same error, «...» "Cannot open a file... "Well, to solve this problem, I opened the Transfer Wizard, thenm go through your files, using the options"Advanced"and my limited to a size of transfer to 2 GB or less.  It could be a tedious job, but it should work for you, as it did for me.  You can experiment a bit more with the measures, but I've just stuck with 2 GB and was fine.  Good luck to you all

  Forget the idea that the work plan has a size in pixels. This isn't the time wherever it is a PDF file.

  If you have a PDF file with a size in inches, and you save in JPEG format. The size in pixels of the JPEG depends on this size in inches AND the resolution used to generate JPEG format. This resolution could be set in Acrobat or it could be an option, not sure, but I am not optimistic, that it is an option.

  I think you might find you more control, and if you used Photoshop - very probably for the entire task, or if not, to open the PDF - you can always set the size of the image and the resolution before the Save in JPEG format.
