Thank you for upgrading your Mac to OS X El Capitan! If the download seems to be blocked for a few hours, try to force the Mac to shutdown by holding down the power button until it stops. You can then try to leave it to the top in safe mode. Also, please check your internet connection, if you can connect the Mac directly to your router via an ethernet cable, it would speed up the download process.

I paid for CC student for the year. CC downloaded on my Mac, click on install for Photoshop and 30 odd hours later, several attempts, NOTHING. So frustrating. I get as much as 11 percent, then it breaks down, says it's the internet connection has been lost and the opportunity to try again. I have now connected directly to my modem ethernet connection.
