AFX CC roto brush innefectual

After the upgrade to CC, I noticed that the Roto Brush tool is completely innefectual for me.  I opened the layer in a layer panel, select the Roto Brush tool, and then when I do a vascular accident brain... the cursor has not yet changed to Roto-brush "green circle", and therefore no line is performed. I know that I do not miss a step, because my colleague - including AFX is identical to mine, has no problem.

Is it possible that something has been removed in my AFX files?

Attactched screenshot of the scene selected in the layer panel without Roto tools at the base even if the brush is selected.

  • Roto brush not visible then go

I'm completely stumped with a problem of rotobrush in After Effects and I was hoping someone might have a suggestion on how to correct the situation.  I finished the rotobrush and saved the "freeze" on the layer.  When I go to the composition, I see the layer that has been rotobrushed on the bottom that I created, but when I go to make the file - or a dynamic link with first - all I get is the background. I tried also made just the layer of rotoburshed with an alpha, and all I get is a black screen.

    1. To add to the confusion - I did a RAM Preview and then saved the RAM Preview, which saved and I could import into Premiere Pro

Any suggestions?  I guess I am missing a step, but darn if I can understand what it is.  I searched on the web and Adobe, but I'm not finding any guidance which takes the tutorial through the rendering process roto brush.

  • Use roto brush result in another layer

    Hello!

I used the roto/refine edge brushes to isolate an object FG in a few sequences of shooting. I would take the resulting mask from that and use it to cut a few 3D layers that should seem to be behind it. Is it possible to export the result as a mask roto brush, or use the roto brush effect to another layer? Or even to export just the alpha in the images I can pull back as a layer of film?

The only solution I can think of right now is to copy the film with roto brush effect layer and the layer of the FG of the 3D elements cutting element, but I prefer to keep the 3D elements instead of adding an extra layer.

Clause of the disclaimer that I am relatively new to AE, even though I'm known in other packages.

    Thank you!

There is no rendering hit with two copies of your roto masked layer. There is no reason not to duplicate the layer and make a matte. You must have a source for the alpha somewhere. If you disable the RotoBrush effect, is all the same that never apply there is therefore no mast to extract. I would duplicate the images first, then roto first folio of the layer and use it as a matte.

If you really do not want to duplicate the layer, but still want to have access to the info Matt Rotobrush you can use other techniques to rearrange the order of rendering so that the mask of roto is still usable but the images don't seem to be hidden. This will only two layers in your main computer.

Before dialing your rotoscoped film move all attributes. This puts the mask on top of the rendering order. Apply presets for the layer of film of Pre-composed and the Alpha value, the bottom option, full. This leaves the first instance of the alpha in the rendering order stack. You can then use any presets or Set Matte on the layer that you want to apply the matte roto to extract alpha from the top of the rendering order. In this way the Alpha is extracted from the Rotobrush until the Alpha is set to integer by presets. It is the only way not to have only one copy of your images in your main comp, but it would take so much time to make simply to use a duplicate and follow mast.

Another option would be to RotoBrush your film and then make a copy with alpha and then apply Set Matte or make a single copy of the alpha of the images to use as a matte.

  • How can I optimize my installation for Roto-brush?

I tried to work with the Roto Brush tool and a clip of 8 seconds and it is painfully slow (about 4-5 seconds) to propagate between the individual frames.  Add and subtract the mattes take quite long to refresh too; all said and done I might as well have just painted mattes by hand.

Is this normal?  Demos do seem so quick and easy...

I'm pretty decent (8.1 of Windows 64 - bit, 8-core Xeon, 64 GB of RAM) on a machine.  Looking at the Task Manager, it seems that it uses only one processor while working, but it isn't even maxing out this kernel.

    Thanks for any idea/advice!

It's just how it works. Traditionally, AE can use only 1 core of wire for most of the time since they must be handled linearly and in order. All also traditionally Xeons have performance by smaller heart as they seek to parallel processing more than great performance with mode, as would a kernel (X) i. Simply not an ideal combination.

  • Duplicate effects roto brush

    Hi to everyone.

I'm here to ask you if there is a way to reproduce a roto brush effect.

I found many threads with people asking how to copy a roto brush "layer" from one project to another, but is not replicated in the same project.

Long story short, I already have a roto brush effect, makes a new layer out of it and I now make a new layer with the 'inverted selection', but keeping the original "layer effect" too (need to order each layer single effect at the end of the work).

    I. by 'solve' for a selection of copy and paste too.

    Thanks in advance!

PS. running after effects on Windows 7 Ultimate CC.

When you have a good pass to a rotation, then travel either an alpha only (there is a preset in the reference of rendering and it's very fast) or make the result and use it for your effects of mast. You can then use the rendered images as matte or reversed hides by approach. EZ as pie.

  • How can I request the Roto Brush tool to several frames?

Hi, I worked on using the Roto Brush tool to remove the background of a subject. My question is, how to apply these changes to all the frames? Thank you very much.

Here is a good set of resources of the Roto Brush tool:

  • Try learning the Roto Brush tool and I'm stumped.

OK, I have watched videos, read the help but can't seem to get to the stage of learning Roto Brush tool. I have started a project, imported a video in a model and that's all there is in the project. highlite the window comp, click the Roto Brush tool and hover over the video to work. Show the video, the cursor changes to let you know the Roto Brush tool is activated and ready to go, but mine is just the cursor and if I click to draw, he thinks that I want the video and just grab it and it moves. What on earth am I wrong here? After effects CC, all this so far.

OK, a new cloud just update and restarted his work... all of a sudden.

  • Roto-brush - Matte refining

    Hello

I had a problem trying to complete a project that I made using the roto Brush tool. I created the segmentation using the roto Brush tool, I froze and I ve then used the regular brush tool for touching up there.

So far, everything has gone well, I put a good amount of hours to take effect, and finally I just to Reffine the matte by using effect tab control', and it is whem things went wrong.

As soon as I activated the "Refine Matte" box I lost the segmentation on some images. The segmentation was not lost completely, whem I look on the alpha chanel, for example, instead of having the 'black and white' contrast between the background and the person I have chosen, the background turns to gray.

Whem I see glimpses of the element in the timeline, the frames where the background turned grey get some type of weird blurry with the colors of the clothing of the person.

Here are a few screenshots comparing the good and bad frames.

    Bad image

    Alpha Bad.jpg

    PREVIEW WINDOW

It is possible to see in the pictures that the edits I made with the regular brush tool are there. I also tested and I can't erase areas of "gray/blur" using the regular brush, but as I'm going to have to go through the video frame by frame again, and I hope that there is a better way to do it.

I really need this help, and thank you for any information that can help me with this.

Thanks for the time and goodwill!

Nothing wrong, I would say. The Alpha has never been clean in the first place and refining the matet simply responds to some artifacts that you can not see, but technically are already there like small fractions of non-transparent pixels, with only 0.1% opacity, or something. You can try and make the outside raw video in a format that supports Alpha. Forced quantification could eliminate faulty pixel garbage, and you can then apply refinements to the re-imported clip. The same thing could be done by composition in advance the result Rotobrush. and of course, you might consider adding some caches / masks somewhere in there to prevent Eparses pixels that affect your outcome. It's really just a problem of workflow...

  • Roto brush (recommended for multiple cuts and also the problem of incompatibility frame)

I have a dance video of 3 minutes with several cuts, views, and angles - and I want the piece to roto brush in After Effects. I'm trying to separate the dancer from the background. It would be wise to Roto Brush tool each Cup separately (in this case I would export each piece in a separate file in Final Cut Pro)? I guess Yes, but not quite sure.

When I convert a publication to 59.94, 29.97 (because of the incompatibility of Frame error) I don't see that it really doesn't matter what... change t - it? Is that clear change only once fully made (RAM Preview)? Or is that what the roto Brush tool "smarter" - more capable?

    Thank you!

Cut the shots. It's the only way.

Doubling the frame rate is only an option if you have separated the fields on interlaced images. The difference is that you see all areas. I can't tell you if it's the right option without looking at the pictures. We must try and scroll one image at a time to see if you have duplicates. If you do, then this is an unnecessary step.

  • Cadence for Roto brush

When I try to rotobrush me to float, then I get an error screen saying that the frame rate not correspond his high voice for everyone doing so too the computer is accelerating it?

Your film frame rate and speed of your comp must match to use Rotobrush.

When you check the interpretation on your film is the pace? When you check the settings of composition, which is the rate?

  • Echo effect doesn´t work in combination with the Roto Brush tool

    Hey guys,.

This topic refers to another question, I already asked: duplicating a clip parts

Basically, I wanted to reproduce the movement of a player of tennis in slow motion.

With the great help of Rick Gerard and other members of the adobe community, I've managed to produce a result pretty solid:

But the echo effect doesn´t works not at all.

I followed the instructions step by step Rick Gerards constantly, but I had to adjust the framerate and the time of Echo to get a fluid motion:

    AE.png

Now the doesn´t of echo effect works at all.

Does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem?

    Best regards

    Mark

You posterize time on all layers. You want only posterize time on the layer with the echo effect applied. You will need to follow the back wall and fix this info to follow-up on the middle tier to keep to keep executives frozen after the movement of the camera.

The theory behind the effect is that Posterize you time on a layer, as well as see several copies of the same frame so you set up echo repeat those repeated frames. You put your background images under the layer of racket playing in real time, and you place a copy of your layer of racket above to play in real time so that the repeated images are under pictures of images in real-time.

If you look carefully at my screenshot, you'll see that posterize time applies only to the middle tier.

  • Deletion of video moving object (use duplicate or Roto brush?)

    Hello

I had a really hard time trying to remove clips moving objects. I am attempt to disassemble head out of the straighter statue, but could not find an effective way to do... When I use the clone stamp, she keeps track, but I can't seem to blend in realistically, given that the color of the sky goes like pans right claw. I also tried to use a cut-out image of heaven and who followed, but who could not blend as well...

    Screen Shot 2014-02-15 at 12.08.39 PM.png
If anyone has any suggestions for this problem, I would be very happy. I have this same problem with a few other clips as well.
    Thank you
    G

So I downloaded your video and took a look. To replace the head in the second figure on the left, I simply moved frame 250, duplicate the layer film, used the Clone Stamp to replace the head by Sky giving lots of filling, value paint paint on all chassis and paint to the entire timeline is extended. I also applied layer > time > Freeze Frame in the clip. Then I wrote before the first slip so that I could use a mask to be cut precisely around the neck. I then added a null value to follow movements in the comp and gave a quick run movement to the images pick up a few points on the second figure of the left who lived below the neck. I ran a path of motion, applied the path of motion for the null value, then related the pre-comp to the null so that it would follow the movement of the camera.

Took about 10 minutes. Here's a CS6 project file that uses your footage. You need to replace the images in your computer and then it should work.

You can use the PSD that you created instead of all the paint and motorhomes. IOW, if you replace the demo by the PSD you made to the appropriate image then calls on your mask and related DSP to null, everything should work perfectly.

  • Why the Roto Brush tool keep crashing?

Whenever I'm rotoscoping using this tool (he loves by the way), it works it of magic for a few seconds and then stops. It then continues the video without Rotoscoping. Now I can't hit just enter and leave while it does its job, I have to stand and watch (this isn't that bad, but it's boring). Any ideas?

Have you actually read help about Rotobrush and are aware of the basic frameworks and spans concept and how the affect the spread? No offense, but I don't you feel that you have and expect some magic to happen. Seriously, ask. Everything you describe sounds quite normal - if there is only an initial selection that will cover that extends the default propagation of +/-20frames and then simply move. Only manually by clicking inside the space, another frame of basis of drawing or extending the validity scope will lead the analysis more far.

  • Best way to hide the writing on a fixed object in static images (tripod)?

I have a sequence of two cameras multicam, a cam is a wide shot, the other cam is close to the top. All images taken on a tripod, so the camera shots are all static. In the images captured by each cam, there is a stationary object on a table in the background who wrote about what I want to delete. In the images captured by each cam, there are simple movement (a person moving slowly) that sometimes goes in front of the object I want to remove the writings. I obviously don't want to apply effects to the area occupied by the object, when this request before the object is in progress.

I know how to capture an image of every angle of cam and use Photoshop to create the object with hidden text. I think it would be the first step, after which I needed to somehow replace the stationary object sheets without the part surrounding the background as well as the motion when it passes in front of the affected object. So it seems I need a cache for things of mask so visible only parts of the object are assigned to reveal the the text clipping.

Research here and online, the best option I've seen so far is the after effects Roto brush. After effects Roto brushing the best avenue here, or is there a function that will start at least by auto-Roto'ing for me based on a movement in front of a selected area, the object I hide? (I can't find the feature of the latter).

Hey there. what you are doing here with the first? It is strictly a matter of Ae aka Compositing and not editing or simple masking. Could show you the two shots, or at least a part of them? a picture is worth a thousand words and a video is worth more than tens of thousands of words.
