Alienware 17 R3 - Dell unable to supply 8 GB graphics card - FRUSTRATION FRUSTRATION FRUSTRATION

Someone had this problem?

Got my R3 17 just before Christmas. Ordered 8 GB of graphic map of 980 m received 4 GB.

Dell customer support gave me a refund or an amplifier of graphics! I have absolutely no use
for an amplifier of graphics and I will not be able to buy the laptop that I ordered for the same
the money I got £300 discount and special offers.

They told me that if I had a replacement he had no guarantee it would not happen again.
In fact they told me that they did not the laptop I ordered!

Since then, the default configuration of high 17 R3 on the Alienware website comes with
Spec is identical to the one I ordered (including the 8 GB) and, apparently, usable in
3 to 5 days.

You know what I do or who I need to contact. I spoke with them on the phone
with no resolution. I'm now Exchange e-mail at a rate of one a week.

The last email contained the text "tokindly cooperate with us that the problem is solved.

I have been informed that Dell is in 'Breach of Contact', but I do not know how to proceed.

In addition to the 4gig issue, I really like the laptop and I really want that one that I ordered.

Can anyone help?

Stuart

Final closure.

I found my money and bought a new one.

There is NO way around it.

I got money for the hassel (10%), and the sales guy gave me a few more discount so all in all I spent the same amount of money and I got a better machine.

My only problem is that the customer support is not fulle issues explain to me in the first place so he dragged for weeks.

Thanks for your comments.

  • Power supply with updated graphics card update

I am considering buying the HPE-150 t with an improved graphics card standard:

1 GB ATI Radeon HD 5770 [2 DVI, HDMI, DP, VGA adapter]

I went on http://support.asus.com/PowerSupplyCalculator/PSCalculator.aspx?SLanguage=en-us to the appropriate power needed for this gauge system, and it recommends a minimum 450 Watt power supply.

If I ended up buying the HPE-150 t with updated graphics card, I get a power supply improved to compensate for the increase of energy consumption?

Here are the specs of your motherboard.  It indicates a 350 Watt PSU.  However, if you scroll down to hardware options, you will see a 460 watt power supply associated with the 5770 video card.

  • power supply and integrated graphics card upgrad

I have an a6767c of office with integrated graphics. I would like to upgrade with a good card modest price. Perhaps nivida 9800? also a new power supply would be advised that told me. I can spend about about 250.00 maybe more I can install myself. Thinking maybe 600 watt PSU? Im a bit new to pc, but learn quickly. any help would be great.

Corsair 400CX would be my 1st choice.  With respect to the GPU, I'd go with the Radeon 4770.  Measure the case to ensure that the GPU will adjust.  These Gumball HP is designed for browsing the web and light desktop functions.  You can migrate content to a best case (Antec 300).  Final cost will be always under $ 200!

  • I have a dell studio 540 with graphics card geforce 9800gt, realtek audio, no sound on HD TV

I have a dell studio 540 with geforce 9800gt graphics card. When I connect the hdmi sometimes I hear, but after awhile, the sound does not work. Now I have no sound at all. When I hooked the HDMI first, I found a realtek window asking me to activate the sound via hdmi. I find it anymore this window. I can't get the sound to work at all now.  I even tried to use 3.5 mm with hdmi and got nothing. 3.5 worked when I plugged in the vga to tv cable, but the picture quality was awful. How will I know if my card grphx carries sound?

    Hello

I suggest you try to update the latest drivers for the card sound and graphics card and see if it helps:

  • What graphics card will work with my Dell U2711 to 2560 x 1440?

I just bought a Dell U2711 monitor I want to use with Photoshop at its native resolution of 2560 x 1440. I also have a Dell E2311H to use dual monitor with it in a configuration.

The monitors are connected to a card mother with an integrated video chipset ATi Radeon 4200 with DVI - D and regular 15-pin output video under AMD Gigabyte MA785GM.

However, the 4200 chipset does not seem to support the resolution 2560 x 1440 Dell as all I get are blurry tinted color characters. The ClearType text gives me just blurry garbage.

I use the Dual-link cable that comes with the Dell U2711.

What cheap graphics cards will work for me with this arrangement of material?

Refresh rate is not important. I'm not a gamer.

This video card has two DVI and DP and 2560 x 1440 60 Hz will do.

Easier, is likely to do a restore factory - back up your data and use the backup of Dell and recovery to restore the image.

  • Alienware X 51: can I get the dell 745 to put in my office or send my office back so dell can replace the outdated graphics card.

I was just searching the site of alienware by looking at the computer I just purchased and realized that they have updated the model graphics since a 645 to 745 and I was just curious to know if it was possible to send my current desktop (x 51 with a 645) to dell and replace my outdated (still under warranty) graphics card.

It is not possible. We do not have a service upgrade. If you are inside the first 30 days of the invoice date, you can contact Customer Service and restore the system to Dell credit or a refund. Then buy the X 51 - R2 with the video card.

  • Alienware x 51 R2 - 240W - graphics cards?

    Hello.

I searched for a new graphics card to replace my 1 GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 645 for some time now, as the newest games is movie far the graphics "Runescape";).

I was overlooking a large number of discussions and even tried to contact Dell directly, get them to send me an email of the graphics cards that I have in my current computer. I don't however have specific answers.

So I was wondering if you guys could help out me :).

My current Alienware X 51 R2 is running:
    240W power
    A 250V EURO power cord
At 4th generation Intel Core processor i5-4430 (6 MB of Cache, up to 3.2 GHz with Turbo Boost technology)

    Now for the TL. DR

If I want to trade my 1 GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 645 the best possible of GPU, which should go for?

The map budget is important, but I would not go there for a new power supply or power cord, if possible :).

    • GTX 650
    • GTX 750
    • GTX 750 ti

A GTX 950 peut be possible, but it's up to you if you think it is useful to do since it is the most powerful of the four mentioned. AMD options that will work with the block of power SUPPLY 240 w is not a price: performance that the Nvidia GPU are or could be recommended.

If you have an "unlimited" budget, why do you resist wanting a bigger PSU (there is only one to choose the shape, and THST the PSU 330w for X 51 and Alienware laptops)?

  • Update graphics card on Dell Inspiron 580 MT

    Hello

I watch first through similar threads on this site, but I found the newest one was more than a year, so I decided to create a new post

We have a 6 years, Dell Inspiron 580 Mt. just only because of his age, I'm about to put in a new hard drive, & when doing this, I thought to upgrade or replace the dedicated graphics card.

At the present time, there is a NVIDIA GeForce G310 512 MB card in there. The computer is used mainly for businesses, so not forced to play on it. The card manages two monitors, two Dell 2007FP with a resolution of 1600 x 1200. For the moment, we're on DVI, one on VGA, but I would like to make two DVI to 'Future Proof' if we replace with a higher resolution larger screens and more.

What would be a reasonable upgrade graphics card? I would like to find one that would not require an upgrade of the power supply as well.

Processor is an Intel Core i3 Processor 530(2,93GHz,4MB)

8 GB of RAM on board

    Suggestions that much appreciated :-)

    Hi traveler Quentin

    Please write to us.

Here are a few other graphics cards that are compatible with your system.

    nVidia GT220 1 GB

    nVidia 1 GB M207

AMD Radeon HD 5670 1 GB

    AMD Radeon HD 5450, 1 G

You can search the specifications of the ports on the vendor's site, before you decide on one.

The machine with only 300w PSU, so don't worry about changing the PSU.

  • Details of graphics card (5548) Dell Inspiron 15

I recently bought a dell inspiron 15 (5548) and now im faced with somewhat misleading of the problem with the graphics card. Is - this m265 R7 or R7 m260?

Latest drivers Dell show as m265, but the games stuck and completely non playable after the A06 bios update. Latest drivers from AMD say good race his m260 and games (ex: CS: go to 45-55 fps).

Also when buying the guy from the dell store said m260 / m265 is a dedicated graphics card and this message says that it is not, rather, it is just a rendering engine. Thus, evrything goes through processor again and so on...

Could someone sort this point for me coz its nowhere mentioned on the page of the product it's a converter card. Also when you guys will fix that issue drivers? It is 260 or 265 or just a problem of labelling? IM currently with AMD drivers and it just works.

Idk it I can post my service here tag. Answer me if its ok.

    I need answers guys...

The system uses the hybrid video controlled by software.  Only the Intel GPU has a connection to display - all passes video through it on its way to the screen, even if it was made by the AMD GPU.

Virtually all systems of low - medium range now work this way.  If you need true GPU support, discreet, it is the province of high-end Alienware and Precision mobile workstations.   That's all as many competing systems from other manufacturers.

  • Dell Optiplex 780 compatible graphics cards?

Hi all I'm new on the dell forum. I love my Dell Optiplex 780 SFF and last year I bought a

First, ask yourself "is there something better than that, which corresponds to and is not low profile?  No, because there ONLY cards that will fit must be small footprint!

Second, 7750 HD cards are often recommended as a good choice for the Dells - unique slot and low power requirements.  I am running a 7750 HD in my own 780 MT, having chosen as the best choice for fit and performance.  That said, your power supply of the SFF is only 235W, which is very marginal.  I've seen reports of others by means of this type of card in a 780 SFF, but you should make sure, that it is not overtax the power, depending on what you have in your computer.
