All records have selected read-only option, and I am unable to remove it.

I have recently reinstalled Windows 7, without touching the drive was in my data. All data is intact, but for all delete them and move the action, it seems to be asking permission from the Admin. In addition, another major problem, that I have been facing is that all records are in read-only mode, and no matter how many times I change, they simply revert to the original read-only mode. I have attached a few screenshots showing the process. Is it possible to fix this? I also copied the content into new folders I created recently, but they still have the same read only selected option. (http://imgur.com/a/r3VOB#0)

The read-only check box is always blue filled.

Records are not read-only. The read-only attribute is not applicable to the
records. Ignore the read-only box. It has no meaning for folders.

  • Cannot modify read only options for all my files

Original title: properties of the file.

All of my files have become "read only".  Even if I'm an admin I can't change that.  If I open the properties and uncheck the read-only box, it emerges, I click on apply and OK, but the file remains read-only.

    Hi David,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

From your description, it seems that you can not change the only option of reading to all your files in the computer.

I'll be happy to help you. This problem can be caused if the files are corrupt and comes into conflict with other programs.

I would be grateful if you could answer the following questions:

1 have you ever done any recent hardware or software on your computer changes?

    2. have you created the file read-only?

I suggest to follow the steps below and we update on the State of the question.

To view or to remove the read-only or the attributes of system files in Windows Vista

    a. click Start, click run, type cmd, and press enter.

    b. to display the syntax for the Attrib command, type attrib /? at the command prompt.

To remove the read-only attribute and to set the system attribute, use the following command:

    attrib - r + s drive:------------

For example, to remove the read-only attribute and set the attribute to system for the C:\Test folder, use the following command:

    attrib - r + s c:\test

Be aware that some programs may not operate correctly with folders for which the read-only attribute and the system attribute are granted. Therefore, use the following command to remove these attributes:

    attrib - r s by car:------------

For example, to remove both the read-only and the attributes to system for the C:\Test folder, use the following command:

    attrib - r-s c:\test

If the run command is not listed in the Start menu, follow these steps:

Click Start, click principally made programs, Accessories, and then click run.

    For reference:

You cannot view or change the read-only or the attributes of system files in Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7:

I have a linux operating system and I would like to remove it and install windows xp. I'm afraid that if I wipe the drive, I'll be unable to boot the windows xp disc. Is this true? What is the best way to remove the linux operating system and install windows xp?

original title: HOW I CAN UNINSTALL LINUX OPERATING SYSTEM

If there is absolutely nothing on the disk you want, just format the drive and install Windows XP:

    1. start from the CD. You may need to change the first boot to a CD device in the BIOS. To do this, when you switch on the look for a configuration message indicating what key to start typing, F2 and del are commonly used. The message appears for very long and it you miss, you have to restart the computer. In the BIOS, look for a section that contains the boot sequence, change it to CD, save it and let the computer to restart.

    2. the installation sequence is answering the message press any key to boot from the CD, and then press ENTER to set up Windows, press F8 to accept the EULA, delete the partition, press ENTER, type L to confirm delete, type C to create a partition, choose (Quick) format. Then begins the installation and restart will therefore ignore the subsequent message to press any key to boot from the CD-ROM.

    3. actual installation will begin and takes about 30 minutes. Finally, download all the missing Windows service packs and other updates.

  • Read only folders and files on external hard drive

Windows 7 keeps setting the already existing folders and files on my external hard drive for read only. I used the Properties dialog box to remove read-only from the folder and all subfolders and files. This seems to run correctly, but of course, this isn't.

It is a serious aggravation and wonder if there is a fix that I have not been able to find. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I understand that after saving a file with a different name, her attribute "removes the read-only" you have no problem with again to change. If the problem is related only to files that have been previously registered with Windows XP.

You can try this: move one of the old files on your desktop > make sure that the read-only attribute is not checked > bring it back to your external drive > check is possible to edit now. If it will work, you can just do this for all your files, simply by copying both.

I'm trying to run a CHKDSK on my hard drives. Whenever I try to do "chkdsk C:" or any other volumes (internal or external) invites of high command. I had

"This type of file system is NTFS.

(That's all I get, nothing in between)

I have three internal volumes C: D; and E:. Running chkdsk on a volume any returns "CHKDSK cannot continue in read-only mode. Run with / f on C: will check the disk (no error) is restarted. Run/f on any other volume, I had "an unspecified error has occurred (766f6c756d652e63 3f1).

Also got same error when you try to chkdsk on all external hard drives.
I have formatted my E: and ran chkdsk on an empty volume, got the same error.

Defrag works OK without any problems. External hard disks can be verified (no error and the bad sector) to another computer (win7 pro x 64).

  • C7280 all in one has two scanning options and has no option for scanning to e-mail. He is used to.

Usually, if I turn off the all-in-one scan options back, but now only two options appear... scan and reprint and scan to memory device.   I need to get the option scan to e-mail and scan to file return.   Please be explicit as I am chanllenged of the computer.

It seems that not all the options are in the analysis... installation options.  Try to check all the parameters of the analysis options to ensure that these file type options are not present.  So, please take a look through the information below the link.

A 'no. Scan Options' or "scan settings are not defined" Message displays on the all-in-one

I hope this can help you go back with the right scanning options.

  • Select read-only list / or show only

    Hello
I have list items of selection based on lookup tables. When the form in edit mode, I want to prevent the user from changing the value of the select list items. How can I accomplish this?
    * If I change the type of the element to display only, then it will display the value returned from the selection list.

    Kind regards

    Good morning, water,

    Amend section-> read-only-> read-only Condition

Here, you can set the condition to display the item read-only. It works for select list point in the well.

  • OK, I have a legal copy of vista Home premium with service packs and updates from microsoft and want to start clean with a clean installation I do not have the original, only recovery and put installation disc at level Express disc?

OK, I know that this may be simple for most, but I have an of a moment _ this find.  As I said legal copy that has been saved... I backed up all my files on DVD, I don't care if I lose all the programs that I can always download them later.  Basically I want is that it was when I brought home the first time.  I searched high and low for the original disc of Vista but no luck.  I do not have people upgrade at any time, but I was not able to find a definitive answer about it online.  Not too complicate it again but I have 4 GB of ram and processor can run 64-bit, and I have 32-bit curently I'm sure you know where I'm going with that.  I know a little about how to do it, but want reasurance and direction from someone who knows hit safe and ready to help.  Any person who get end to this nightmare for me will be really appreciated.

    Shaun

Contact the manufacturer to obtain a set of recovery discs original (for a fee) and use them to make the initial installation.  Activate it.  Then you can do the upgrade and activate that.  You must install the original operating system in order to install the upgrade.  If you are going from 32 bits to 64 bits that cannot be done with an upgrade - which requires complete and clean installation.

Here is the Microsoft policy on replacement software; http://support.microsoft.com/kb/326246.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Read-only folders and external publishers

I try to use LR4 for working on NEF images that I had imported from a directory read-only. While that regular LR4 edition works, using an external editor is not because LR4 insists on trying to write a file in this directory read-only. Is there a way to persuade LR4 to put the files that it uses to communicate with external publishers elsewhere? Intentionally, I want to keep my unalterable NAVE directories because they are synchronized with other programs (who is happy by LR4 additional files sneak in there) and because I don't want to accidentally change something there.

    Not for secondary publishers.

Only the primary Photoshop CSx can open a wihtout first creating file. Then Sabrina ba use Save as in Photoshop to choose another location.
