Allegedly Incompatible graphics 3D program - Sculptris

I downloaded the free program Sculptris because I couldn't afford main product of the company, ZBrush.  When I try to use it, it will work for a few minutes, but then either the keys do not work as described or the program freezes and says that it has stopped working.  (Hey, I noticed!)  More I continue to reopen, as soon as possible between the opening and the freezing.

It is extremely frustrating when trying to create something that I'll want to have 3D printed later.

I have Windows 8 on an Inspiron 3647.

Has anyone else tried this program and get it work?

I contacted ZBrush, and they essentially said, well, 'gee, it was free, after all... "I asked them why should I never buy ZBrush and expect it to work if this small program they put there does not work?  I got a long-winded response that they were not the same, etc. but never helped me with Sculptris.

It's a shame that so many professional artists like ZBrush better.  Hope they get better help for the money.

I would be very happy if someone can help me to get this thing to work at least as it is said that it will be.  Thank you for your time.

-Sherry

Hi Sherry,

I understand that the program is frozen and unresponsive.

  • The problem is specific to Sculptris?

Yes, this could be due to the incompatibility of the program with Windows 8. You can uninstall the program and then install it in compatibility mode and check if it works.

a. do the driver installation file right click and select Properties and then tap or click on the compatibility tab.

b. check in the run this program in compatibility mode for: box.

c. press or click the menu drop down and select a previous operating system, and then tap or click OK.

d. try to install the driver and verify.

You can check: make the programs more compatible with this version of Windows

I hope this helps.

    Hello!

First of all do what laptop do you have?

I didn't experience this problem again, but in your case I would update the graphics driver. The latest version, you can find the Toshiba site:

Depending on your model of laptop, you should also try to update the BIOS. For some laptops there are special versions of BIOS for XP, but on the Toshiba page, you can check this.
In addition, it would be interesting to know if you are running the factory settings or you have installed your own version of Windows?

What program are you trying to install?

I suggest you to install the program in compatibility mode and check.

Make older programs in this version of Windows

Most of the programs created for earlier versions of Windows also work in this version of Windows, but some older programs might run poorly or not at all. If a program written for an earlier version of Windows does not work, you can try to change the program compatibility settings, by using the program compatibility problems or manually choose compatibility settings.

Usually, this is caused by outdated or incompatible graphics drivers on your host.  I expect that the latest drivers for your integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000 would be probably already delivered through Windows Update, however.  Could be interesting to see if there is an optional update in your Windows Update list to get a new graphics driver.

Otherwise, you can try the problem by disabling 3D graphic acceleration: from the VM menu, select settings..., and then in the list of material , choose display.  Clear (uncheck) the box 3D graphic acceleration .

    I hope this helps!

  • 2009 mac Pro turns off graphics load.

    Hi all

My Mac Pro is a 2009 with updated firmware version to support 6-core processors clocked at 2.66 ghz. I have improved graphics, Sapphire HD 7950 / 3 gb (UEFI flashed).

    • While I use the computer for graphics intense situations (IE 3d rendering, games), the computer turns off. In order to get back to the computer, the power cord must be disconnected from the PSU. The computer then turns back on without any problem.
    • The question I have is if there is a power supply problem or not?  I put the GPU in a Windows machine and the graphics card run any graphic intense program with excellence.
    • I have reset the SMC, PRAM and looked at the newspapers, but I can't find a solution. I have currently the power supply of the machine, removed inspect the Board and clean the dust off the camera.

Please ask for more information, you may know.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

  • Windows chooses the wrong graphics driver

    Facts:

    I want HP dv6 laptop 7200 t I bought directly from HP.

In the speifications, I asked a graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 630 M with 2 GB of dedicated ram.

I am using Windows 7 64 bit in English.

Now, I didn't have much use for such a card chart until today - I installed a game and he pointed out my graphics card sucks and the game does not work well on it - he says that my graphics card is Intel HD Graphics 4000.

I checked Device Manager and found 2 - both of the listed graphics cards graphics drivers.

two of them are up to date (I took care of the nvidia Control Panel to the other, and even reinstalled it just in case)

    Assumptions:

I'm not much of an expert in hardware, but I guess I have 2 graphics card - internal on motherboard (intel) and external (GeForce) - feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

And if that's the case, somehow Windows chooses to use Intel instead of GeForce.

I also made sure of it by disabling the Intel HD Graphics 4000 of the Device Manager and my screen went black - guess that its safe to assume that indeed intel driver is in use.

    Question:

If so far I'm supposed so maybe my question is simple - how can I tell Windows choose otherwise?

And if I'm wrong, no doubt, I'm in a deep hole, what should I do?

    Thank you!!

    Hello

Have you made changes on the computer before this problem?
    Follow the steps.

Method 1: Check if the problem persists in safe mode.
    Step 1
Start your computer in safe mode
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode
If the problem persists not in safe mode then try to clean boot in order to verify if a third-party program installed on the computer causes the startup error.
    Step 2
To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: Follow step 7 to reset the computer to start as usual after the boot process.

  • Dear God help me! Why Adobe should turn PhotoShop into a one-program-fits-all solution?

    Hi people,

It is a form of cry a hole deep enough... I am a professional Retoucher and Artist/Illustrator... Not to boast or waving for attention here, but I spent the last two decades at the top of my game, where using photoshop is concerned, but it seems that this comfort zone is over... I'm drowning my beloved software turned to quicksand under my feet. The very foundation of my professional knowledge has turned to despair because I don't know what to do about this!

I was silently dying for about two months now after having upgraded from CS3 using CS5... Whenever I update, I roll with the punches. There are sometimes good things, but especially now, professionally speaking, the bells and whistles just weigh down me. Adobe moves the goal post trying to respond to casual users, while undermining the elegance of the function first in the program.

The question that started me here today is, "removal of pixels" using the "Delete" key when in quick mask, it's driving me crazy...

PLEEEEASE someone tell me how to disable the 'fill' dialog that appears whenever I press the DELETE key (when I'm in the quick mask).  I want to just delete the "background color" (as I've done since the beginning of time) without the dialogue that adds a new step in the process... It used to be that if I wanted a 'dialogue', I simply press 'shift + delete' (which was a PERFECT solution when I wanted more options), but now this 'shift + delete' is the default position and I don't know how to get around to keep my workflow simplified as possible... Time is money, and the madness at work is a bitter reward for the upgrade of a piece of really professional software.

I ask Adobe, why trouble what is not broken? ... It used to be perfect... NOW I have 20 YEARS ' worth of reflexive habit creating anxiety in my workflow whenever I now try to use this database functions. It is amazing to be honest. I'm using Photoshop since version 2.5, and the point is that I used to use all Adobe graphics software programs in a concentrated state of MINDLESS... it's to say, ' without thinking '. But no more...

What's with the constant will to these things too? Once the most elegant of all the software programs (even means Adopbe Illustrator, which reached its peak at version 6), using Photoshop today reminds me heavy Corel Draw dates back to 1989, which was so big and horrible compared to the 2 Illustrator and photoshop 2.5 in those early days... Once upon a time, you knew what the program was, and you know what you had to do the work GET done using the tools available. Now, instead of using the full extent of the program and all these "benefits" I ignore a large part of them, coz they mess HALL added things...

I want the simplicity of 'form follows function' in the software...

I have to ask, what's with the new 'zoom' in the PS that doesn't work the same way in other CS5 programs, which are the same as the older versions? ... It is not a bad zoom, actually it has its strong points when you used to, BUT, there is a deployment ridiculous, half-baked idea that should have been implemented across the entire suite programs prior to release. Now, I am suffering between the new zoom jerk in the PS and the traditional zoom (perfect condition) which remains in Illustrator and indesign. It's like having someone cut the grass unless you walking along minding your business.

You want to work with 3D? ..... Why not use a 3D program dedicated to who will do the job properly and leave the retouch editing tool... I want just a chisel which has a 'Blade '... I have need a tracking radar garnished with x-rays that also allows me to see through walls when firing grenades at my woodwork. ALL I want is hardened steel, and a solid feel in my hands... The program to weaken the bells and whistles in PhotoShop. ..... . WHAT the hell is the 3D feature in Photoshop for? ... Abobe should bring back Dimensions (since nothing they have done since the abandonment of this program can hold a candle to the functionality of this EXCELLENT program niche) for TRUE 3D construction and rendered in postscript format.

With extensive experience and skills in reference is now an inflexible "rod" down my back, when it comes to this new version. It feels like 20 years of competence goes in the toilet. And for what gain for the serious and capable user? Software and interface additions that undermine the essential power of these once wonderful programs to work effectively, is finally bold and a burden that the software itself does not have to bear.

Does anyone think this way? Is what someone else frustrated by the bells and whistles overbearing? In my humble opinion, Photoshop has turned to sludge. Try to be all things to all people might expand the market and sell licenses, but she leads me into the wall on a daily basis... Maybe I'm just too old, but I want to get out the tools now...

Someone please give me and answer this riddle of 'remove key '... I'm going to lose my mind do my 'job '.

    Thanks in advance.

    Sincerely,

    Charles

Regarding deleting key bringing up the dialog box to fill (this happens only on a layer of background BTW) - the development team implemented this way to allow the discovery of the user of the Content Aware feature - which is what you want to use for most users, when you delete a part of an image. In earlier versions of Photoshop, the delete key was located to "fill" will be background color (this also only occurs on a background BTW layer) for which he was already a shortcut (cmd + delete) who loses his reason makes the shortcut [Remove].

Zoom behavior change was also a case of discovery of the user. It is in fact fairly intuitive if you're not used to the way inherited from the zoom. The key is to understand how the new behavior.

Activate the zoom by clicking on the area you want to zoom in on and hold down the mouse button. When you drag to the right, you zoom in on the point where you clicked initially. When you drag to the left, zoom you out to the point where you clicked initially.

If you decide that you still prefer the old behavior, you can disable the new behavior by selecting the Zoom tool and unchecking 'Scrubby Zoom' on the toolbar options.

As pointed out by other users, it seems that you need to update your OS and Photoshop with the latest updates.

  • Periodic complete Lock up on M9402F running Vista Home Premo 64

I had my computer (HP Pavilion Elite m9400 desktop PC series) m9402f loaded with Vista Home Premium 64 from BestBuy a few months (mid-November) and shortly after getting it, the whole system locked on me.  I don't get the blue screen of death, instead the screen would lock just with little vertical red lines appear. Nothing would work and the only thing I could do was a "discount."  That would happen once a day, after being on for about 20-30 minutes.

Lately but it went until 3 to 5 times a day.  It doesn't seem to make a difference in what I do, and I was never able to get the problem to show on demand.  Sometimes I will have multiple adobe programs open and it crashes on me, other times I have just opened my internet browser and it is locked.  I even got lock up on me at the user sign in screen.  There was no warning at all, so I find save me from things after each word.

Since I got the computer for almost 3 months now, I'm on my own?  Should I send it to HP?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi a2opinion, in your description of ' the screen would lock just with small red vertical lines appear "I think that this problem is a graphics related issue.  Outdated/incompatible graphics driver can lock up your system as you describe.  Your product info page I see your machine came with the NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430, which is part of the motherboard.  Have you checked to see if there is a new driver available?  Peek into the device-> graphics cards Manager.  Double click on the card NVIDIA GeForce listed, select the driver tab, click Update driver and let Vista search automatically (on the internet) for updated driver software.

I put t really see big differences between the edition of Vista family and business edition and I m 100% sure Vista home edition and Enterprise edition must be able to use the same graphics driver.
The graphics driver who worked on the Home edition also works business Edition!

I think that you have chosen just a bad or incompatible graphics driver.

If you are sure that your graphics driver is a right please install the display driver from the Device Manager to 100%.
Then choose the install from a list or a specific location called option, and you select don't search. I will choose the driver to install
