  Hi, I also have just got my alpha dev and having the same problem and fixed it.
  There are two changes that I've made, so I do not know which set:
  1 change the date, clock and time zone in your alpha camera to adapt to your computer
  2 open the SDK software, choose the menu Run > Run configurations... > download tabs > Uninstall, then install...

  I think that the first solution will solve this problem, but if not then try the second solution

  Hello people,

  It has been a while since I even turned on my Dev Alpha C. went to initialize to test something today... and got a message saying that the program was over and visit BB.com for more details on what to do next. Although, I have not found a * beep * thing about Alpha Dev C. am I left with a brick? Are we supposed to return the unit? Is there a trade-up offer? I'm a bit puzzled here does lol - what I do with this thing?

• Alpha dev of limited rotation

  When I run my application on alpha dev built with ndk 10 I can get change of direction or notification of change in direction when dev alpha is 0 or 90, so no upside down for my application, is that OK or should I do something to allow all angles?

  Although the device can detect obviously any rotation, for the purpose of the orientation of the user interface, it seems that BB10 supports usually only a portrait and both landscape orientations. You are not alone in observing this.

  Depending on your use case, either just accept and exercise or use the accelerometer or other info to get the required entry. It does not appear necessary for us to have our apps to support orientation "up is down".

• Toast on Alpha Dev notifications C (10.1)

  My toast on the Dev C Alpha notifications are not displayed correctly. The message I have works 2 lines (also contains a button). The text is not set correctly. If there is only 1 line, the toast notification appears correctly, but when there are 2 lines of the second line runs along the lower border of the toast. The toast notification works without problem on my Z10. You are not sure if it's a question of Dev Alpha C or 10.1?

• BlackBerry Smartphones WARNING: Do not wipe your Alpha Dev with early release BB10

  Just a quick warning,

  I had to spend BBID on my Dev Alpha running the latest alpha BB10.  The instructions inside BB10 advise you to do a security wipe.  DO NOT do this.

  Life Dev Alpha at the beginning, you can enter a problem when you have a secure erase.  This has caused your device is unusable, and you had to install drivers and force a debrick manually.  This trick WILL NOT work on the alpha version of BB10.

  With the Alpha BB10, make a secure erase deletes all your applications and access to these applications.  It also removes the options and settings screens.  It removes access to everything other than the browser.  Try to start the option screens in any method of causes a failure like the application options can not be found.  It stops also send USB signals, which means that the Device Manager / application loader can not detect a USB device at all.

  The application loader custom RIM will reject any connection USB with an unrecognizable PIN (your PIN is not passed when it is blocked like that).  This prevents the it to your Alpha Dev rewipe.  In addition, Blackberry Desktop Manager (who will recognize as a dead BB device) will attempt to reinstall the OS so that your Dev Alpha turns off.  However, as we know, the BDM cannot actually move to the BONE.  Which means that it will not work.

  I haven't checked with Dingle Bay to see if I can manually get the OS to an earlier version, but this is probably the only way to save your Alpha Dev with BB10 and a secure erase Insider.  Will post here updates as needed.  I have just this Chuck in a box and ignore it, but my 64 GB PB also died this week (out of battery power). I don't want to send "RIM" for repair, because they will out simply swap with a new stock, and I want to keep the data on the hard drive.  Because of the way that the battery works with the motherboard, make a backup is not easy with a dead battery.

• Ripple deploy congestive alpha dev BB10 881

  I am trying to deploy a webworks a dev peripheral alpha using ripple.

  The device has an installed debugging token.  The config.xml file has a tag with my author name, which is the same name used to register for the debugging token.

  When I click on package and start a ripple, I can see that the ripple-service window displays a warning:

  [WARNING] Cannot find the debugging token

  The bar file is created successfully, but when he tries to launch the device she ends with the error:

• Momentics 2.0 & 'Performance Release' on Alpha Dev C

  Hello BB devs.

  With the new Momentics, the launch menu has been greatly simplified (too IMO). When you use the option 'Run Release', this seems to build a store signed (instead of debugging signed) BAR it then installs for the device target (ask CSK password along the way) which works very well on the Z10 and Z30. However, when you attempt to launch on our Dev C Alpha, the CSK prompt does not appear and the installation fails with

  "result::failure 881 missing signatures (RDK, AUTHOR). However, the BAR file product installs and works very well with the help of blackberry-nativepackager. All this experience? No work around?

  OK, that rules out a problem on the device side.  We will check if there are any performance configurations customized for this device.  Right-click on the project, choose Run as, run Configurations.  Do you see multiple configurations for this project?

  Because you added the - d option, it should work very well. All you need to do is put the device/Simulator in developer mode (settings-> Security-> Developer Mode) and I guess you have already done this.
