  I am running a printing service and using the printer HP Laserjet Printer 1606dn (I used also other models, such as the Laserjet 1006, Laserjet 1300 and other models).

  I have a problem with the speed when printing on pages that are narrow as A4 (need to my client that I print on the pages of 26.9 x 18.8 cm). I need to print a large number of pages a day, and during the test with the same paper in A4, it prints very fast. But when printing on the page size to custom, the printer get a single page, impression on her (very fast), but then he wait about 15 seconds to get the next page.

  I found a solution. It has to do with the sensors.

  In the upper part of the printer, where the book comes out, there are 3 sensors, one on the left, one in the middle and one on the right. They are little pieces of plastic that opened or closed from the optical sensors (I think).

  When a page dies, it activates the sensors. When a page is close, active not one (or two) sensors on the sides.

  I tested this way: I put my narrow paper not centered, but on the right. The sensor on the left, I 'activated', by placing a small piece of paper under the sensor (it seems like a paper go there). And... it works!

  PRINT FAST!

  But as BLLuten said, it might overheat the fuser unit.

  So, my question now... is what would happen in case of overheating of the fuser unit? (or, in the printers HP, Fuser will get overheated?)

  I think I'll work with this little hack, but with a fire extinguisher to next to me, as a precaution.

  When inserting pages in a large pdf document, hyperlinks that work differently in the source document, get lost in the target document. In addition, we get an error several messages, including "Invalid parameter" and "Dict object expected", which are rather useless.

  We use master pages in InDesign.  Our records have anywhere between 100-200 master pages.  We have NEVER had problems working speed in InDesign before (IE just disabling layers takes 3-4 seconds each, etc.).  I noticed when I deleted everything but a few master pages, the performance is as it should be.  Why in 5.5 is a problem now with us?  Yet once again, the way we used InDesign before, was never a problem until now and it makes it almost impossible to work with... Thoughts?  Suggestions?

  I don't usually do this, but you piqued my interest. I filed Bug #3125326, "10 x Head tilting visibility of layer downturn with several master pages" in your name. I would say that the chances of getting a fix for this problem in CS6 (much less before it) are low at the moment, so set your expectations correctly. I have not explored to see if there is no work around

  Notes from Adobe that the bulk of the time is devoted to generate previews of document page, by Preferences > file management > saving InDesign files: always save Images from the overview of the Documents, and disabling of these previews is a viable solution. Obviously this isn't a solution, but assuming that your workflow is compatible with this, it should help.

  (You could also the script only to that preference at the time of a file record...)

  I feel very disappointed with the new iMac (27 inch high range) I bought specifically so that I can work quickly with video editing - BUT who currently my old iMac with Snow Leopard on my desk and still use it to create documents in Word, etc, among other things. He really miss the old iPhoto - all about it. Not like the new photos app at all and I was wondering if I can install iPhoto on the new computer?   Hi Brian,.

  Using large pages does impact not the other settings in TimesTen. you don't need to change anything regarding things like hash etc. index pages because it comes to TimesTen "internal" pages memory pages not o/s. I also do not use impacts of the large pages other parameters of the kernel such as shmall (I can never remember havign to change those when using large pages).

  Several things are required in order for TimesTen to use large pages:

  1. the kernel needs to be configured to allow an adequate number of large pages (vm/nr_hugepages). The way you do it is fine, but obviously for the 'production' that you re in /etc/sysctl.conf (or equivalent)

  2. the TT daemon must be told to use large pages via the option - largePageALignment (you do this too).

  3. the number of large pages configured must be large enough to contain the entire segment of datastroe TT (PermSize + TempSize + LogBuffSize + ~ 20 MB). You can see the exact size of the segment via "ipcs m.

  4. the kernel vm/hugetlb_shm_group parameter must be set to the o/s groupid that belongs to the user under which runs the main demon TT of. For example, I havea group called timesten (gid = 1000) and belongs to the administrator of the Forum Tt og this group. I have vm.hugetlb_shm_group = 1000.

  With all this in place my data warehouses use great without problem pages (as confirmed by cat/proc/meminfo after that the data store is loaded). That's all you need to do, nothing more.

  Of course, not as the sorting, the viewer sees is defined by them not by you - given the same USB you can use the finder to display in alphabetical order, last updated order etc. size - files have no command - the viewer defines the order

  You can select Photos and export using a file for sequential access to export name so if the Viewer uses an alpha sort they correspond to your order desired - you can facilitate this, but they must define their queue viewer correctly for them to see it as you wish

  You import the video later that the photos?  Or you import the videos and the whole phtos?

  If you imported the videos while being in a different time zone, Photos will use the time zone where you imported the videos to sort the photos. In this case select the video, then use the command "Set Date and Time" and make sure that the same time zone is used as when importing photos.

  Alos, leave the Photos after you crrected date and time.  Sometimes the sort himself corrects only after the relaunch of the Photos.

  OK... you are running XP and your computer has a media player you
  Insert the card in?

  If you go to... Start / my computer... There should be one or more readers
  listed as... Removable Disk... These are the slots of the media player.

  If you right click on the removable disk representative the memory card
  and in the menu... Choose... Properties / Autoplay tab and open the fall
  window and select pictures. And... ICT... "ask me each time to choose
  an action "." Maybe this will restore the AutoPlay window when you insert
  the map.

  You could also try... on the left by clicking on the button "Restore default settings" / apply / OK.

  And it may be worth trying to run the AutoPlay Repair Wizard.
