ALPS Touchpad strangeness on V5 - 573P

Hello world

I have upgraded to Windows 10, everything seems almost smooth so far, with the exception of my touchpad. I use the finger double scroll function quite frequently, but now when I try to use it, I see a strange box poster (touch screen related, I think), then indeed, it scrolls the context menu opens up (like a right-click).  I end up having to run my fingers about 3/4 the way through the touchpad before it actually starts to scroll.  It is quite frustrating and impact on the usability of the laptop.

I downloaded and installed the Windows 10 drivers for the touchpad.  No help.

I don't know if anyone else has this problem as well, but some features are disabled (as the scrolling speed, reverse the scrolling, etc.).  Someone knows how to turn on these options?

I can probably save the screen for an example of what's going on.  Any ideas would be great.  Thank you!

Took a lot of digging (and gave a few times to the top) but I found the fix.

The Alps for Windows 10 (8.100.2020.212) driver is great.  The driver for Windows 8 (8.103.2020.206), despite being a newer driver, is absolute crap.  When I download the Windows 10 driver and everything works until Windows update detect that I don't have the latest touchpad driver automatically, it downloads and installs the latest driver.

Recently, I came across this article, which describes how to disable the automatic driver updates:

http://winsupersite.com/Windows-10/stop-automatic-driver-updates-Windows-10

Follow the instructions to disable the driver updates.

Uninstall the drivers for the keyboard via the Device Manager and the Add/Remove Programs, and then restart, then download and install the driver Windows 10 stop and repeat.  It should work fine after that.

    I have a U500 - 00 X 012 (Australian model) which I've upgraded to Windows 7 64 bit. Toshiba Australia site says to use the Vista 64 bit ALPS touchpad driver. I could not any Vista driver to work with my U500.

    The driver is available from the Toshiba Europe website http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/tpdrv-20091112112139.zip

    The driver is v7.105.303.117

    Hope that someone who saves the many hours I've wasted trying to get the touchpad to work.

    Hello

    Normally most Vista drivers work under Windows. You get an error during installation and what happens exactly?

    Another question: why you n t try the driver from the European page? Normally, it should also work on your laptop.
    Check it!

  • Satellite U400 - 150 (PSU45E) - ALPS touchpad problem

    Hello

    I am trying to solve some problems with the touchpad. My PSU45E Toshiba U400-150 was fitted in ALPS touchpad (synaptics, which is much better from day instead).

    Previously I worked on another laptop to factory with Synaptics and software that he had advanced options, better than the ALPS.

    1. when I use ALPS driver that the coursor movement seems to be "nervous", do not help the traffic regulations. So I uninstalled the driver ALPS, Synaptisc and the movement has been widely. However, the Synaptics software had any advanced options (such as the areas of contact, scroll, etc.). So I restored the ALPS driver, once again, and returned "jumpy" movement. I assume that the driver is not as good as synaptics.

    2 I need in fact for the middle button emulation. In synaptisc, there was this option in the "contact areas". I was using the upper right corner for the emulation of the middle button of the mouse. I was looking for such an option in the ALPS driver, but there is none.

    I woud be gratefull for any sollutions, suggestions about the issue 1 and 2. Is it possible to emulate the middle button of the mouse in the ALPS?

    TIA.

    I have a touchpad Alps on my Tecra and its very good, so maybe you just need to update the driver Alps?

  • Two finger Tap ALPS touchpad Flex 2 15

    Bought a Flex 2 15 pc a few days and I have tried many things to enable tap two fingers to right/middle mouse click... I have ALPS touchpad and currently use the v.8.201.1611.222 driver (I tried the previous drivers to). Shouldn't be any way to emulate the Middle click of the mouse with the touchpad?

    I got exactly the same problem on a 500 of Yoga - also in the ALPS.

    I have found no solution either but I managed to fix it myself and I shared what I discovered. Should surprise my fix if is not the same.

    https://forums.Lenovo.com/T5/Lenovo-Yoga-series-notebooks/two-finger-tap-right-click-Alps-Yoga-500-H...

    Take advantage of a touchpad with tap with two fingers to right click! The way it should be good from the beginning. Most other manufacturers seems funny to do things... Wonder... Or is - this just pure ignorance of Lenovo? This is one of those very small seemingly insignificant things that have a huge impact on the user experience... (!)

  • U31-70 Alps touchpad - how to allow two-finger tap "right-click"?

    Hello

    I have a problem with the Alps touchpad in the U31. I would like to bring up the contextual (right click menu) with a tap two fingers on the touchpad, but everything simply, nothing happens. In the options 2 finger Alps touchpad click fires and the small sample animation clearly shows how a tap two fingers works as a right click.

    I'm pritty sure this is a software / driver issue, but I have installed v8.201.1611.250 and no new version seems to be available.

    Anyone else had this problem or knows how to solve?

    Hey spidey101,

    Thanks for your help! Remove and reinstall the drivers of the ALPS do not solve my problem, so I kept on looking and fortunately found a solution in this post:

    https://forums.Lenovo.com/T5/Lenovo-P-Y-and-Z-series/Y50-70-Alps-touchpad-add-2-and...

    In the registry settings, I changed the following parameters:

    "HKEY_CURRENT_USER > software > Alps > Apoint > Guesture.

    "2TapSupport" = dword:00000003
    "Enable2Tap" = DWORD: 00000001
    '2TapFunc' = dword:0000000 d
    "2TapSetting" = dword:000000ff
    "2TapShow" = dword:00000009

    !!! And I had to make the same changes in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > software > Alps > Apoint > Guesture ' in the work of tap to '2 fingers as a right-click' on my U31-70.

    Best regards

    Go to the Dell Support and enter your alphanumeric character 7 Dell service code in this page. The page resulting from this research will have all the drivers for your computer as it initially left the Dell factory. If you need additional drivers, they can also be searched, but this first page will give you a good start.

  • Need driver for 32 - bit Windows 8 for Alps touchpad on HP Pavilion dv4000 CTO Notebook PC fix scrolling.

    Cursor Alps touchpad very well, œuvres just need to fix the movements and scrolling.

    I know this is an older laptop that came with XP Pro, but I wanted to extend the life of it and everything works fine with the new installation of 32-bit Windows 8 Pro.

    Thanks in advance!

    Solved!

    Google "alps touchpad driver for windows 8" & after trying a few, the following fixed my touchpad scroll (he also added additional Win8 functions, such as edge shot left for the bar of charms, etc..):

    http://kurtsh.com/2012/09/16/download-Alps-touchpad-driver-for-Windows-8-for-Lenovo-G360/

    I had to remove the already installed driver first via Add/Remove Programs (like her whining on would not find Alps version, or something like that), then installed the new driver & restarted.

    Although the new driver for lenovo, it worked great for my HP dv4000 (p/n PC253AV).

  • Satellite ALPS touchpad without normal scrolling only reverse

    I have my new laptop for 1 week and 1 thing guard bothers me:
    It is only possible to inverted 2-finger scrolling which feels very natural to me. I want to be able to scroll normally: down to bottom and vice versa

    I tried to replace the driver with the most recent and also a few other drivers but no work or same result.
    pls advice because they are a deal breaker for me!

    I don't know what version of ALPS using you but, as far as I know, there are more options for scrolling. You can use one or two finger scrolling options and they separately can be enabled or disabled.
    On some versions of software, this option is called multi finger scroll or distinct option called "edge scrolling.

    Have you checked all the options available?

  • Ramdom freeze of Toshiba ALPS touchpad on Satellite P30 - 135

    Hi all

    I own a Toshiba P30-135.

    I experience the temporary freezing of the TOUCHPAD from time to time.

    During freeze the mouse cursor cannot be moved for 30 seconds to a few minutes.

    Gel occurs randomly, at least once a week, often once a day.

    The latest driver available on the Toshiba site is installed.

    Installing the software is clean without suspicious software, spyware and viruses (I'm a COMPUTER security specialist)

    I've read about the two different stories from web:

    1. it's due to an electrostatic problem, and it is necessary to change the top cover on some models. However, on mine, the display had to be changed recently by Toshiba maintenance and they have changed the top cover, too, (which was corroded by sweat). The problem occurred before the interview and again after the interview.

    2. it is a 'normal' process by which software readjusts the mouse settings. I never found something Toshiba on this subject. However, I have never seen any PC any gel brand minutes before, and I can't find it normal as it can freeze during the phases critical.

    Does anyone have information on this problem? and / or any information on how to disable the "auto-adjust" function if it is true and consequences? All standard driver able to replace without service?

    Thank you very much!

    Hello

    I ve had the same problem like you sometimes on my machine (Tecra S5). Since I often use the touchpad, that happens during work and it s very boring.

    What I ve discovered was that my hands are sweating when I hit some longer documents, sweat adheres to the surface of the touchpad and generates a kind of layer that prevents the cushion to get the 'touch' of my fingers.
    After cleaning the touchpad gently with a kitchen not aggressively cleaning, it works like a charm and ceases to block for a few weeks until it s again. I think that humans cannot disable perspiration as a background Windows process. Would be interesting if you could check this, clean your pad and report if the pad works after cleaning.
    It is also sometimes a good reason to clean the whole machine periodically sweat, debris and dust. (Don t forget the vents of the cooling system ;))
    It s like the cleaning of your apartment, just keep clean and prevent some big SH *. :)

    Welcome them
