Alright. Now I've done it! Quick tips before that I'm heading to Best Buy?

Got some advice on replacing my cpu with a little faster on an old HP a1224n.  Replacement went find.  But when I connected again, power light flashes. . Tried the troubleshooting steps, including putting the old cpu back, but no luck.  I unplugged the plug P/S of the motherboard, and when I plugged the power back, seeing power is remained illuminated.  So I F & * ^ # up my card mother, right?

Know of a quick check or something to get before my head.  I was very careful, grounded everything, including me until I started and had no problem getting the cpu replaced.  Before I started, I took advice guys to Radio Shack where I bought Arctic dough and bought some compressed air with a cleaner in it to clean the inside before you start.  Any help.  I am especially concerned to get all the info on my hard drive.  Well, this and the $700 I spend on a new box.  The f

In fact, I thought about her.  I don't understand, but I thought about it.  I started all unplug again, but this time, I took out the battery on the motherboard.  When I started to plug things back in and check, it all came back fine.  The battery still out so no backup, but the machine running great.  And certainly faster!  Thanks again for your help.  The f
