Alternative AS3 to the variable path _global?

Hi, thanks to a very old complicated fla there were buttons that set the variables with _global paths

such as:

function menu1_2(Event:MouseEvent) {}

Global.mode = "hide_hotbox";

MovieClip (this) .gotoAndStop ("stage_1_b");

}

How can I make the variable "hide_hotbox" and others like him accessible and editable from any movie clip - if they be nested in other video clips or on the main timeline, etc.?

Thank you... (end)... much appreciated

If you Google "AS3 _global" you are likely to find some solutions to implement global variables in AS3.

  • Big problem with the variable PATH approx. need help!

    Hello
    I had a problem with the PATH environment variable. Instead of updating client Informatica & server paths PATH env variable, I created new PATH env variable and to establish client & server paths and saved. When I revisited this PATH Env variable, I was shocked to see the content of the PATH variable. I have to set back the old values like windows OS, DB etc paths paths. Could someone tell me how to make or do I have to reinstall the OS, DB, etc. Am on WIndows server 2003.

    I saved my PATH before configuring Informatica. Here's what I had:

    Path = C:\oracle\10gclient\bin; C:\OracleBI\server\Bin; C:\OracleBI\web\bin; C:\OracleBI\web\catalogmanager; C:\OracleBI\SQLAnywhere; C:\OracleBAM\ClientForBAM\bin;%SystemRoot%\System32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem; C:\OracleBAM\BAM; C:\Informatica\PowerCenter8.1.1\client\bin

    The critical components of the OS dependent PATH is % SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem.

  • Problem with the Java PATH and HOME.

    Hey, so I tried to run a Java program through the console but I got an error that says:

    ERROR: JAVA_HOME is not set and no "java" command could not be found in your PATH.

    Please set the JAVA_HOME variable in your environment to match the installation location of java.

    So I edited the variable path: C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0\bin\java.exe and the JAVA_HOME variable to: C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0\bin\java.exe and I also tried to use jre8 instead of jdk1.8, but the program still did not run. Already, I went on the java Web site and the site Internet said the same thing about what to do so I ask here see if someone knows how to do this. I already know how to change system variables, but I'm doing something wrong with the path and the JAVA_HOME or y at - it a bug or something?

    Hello

    Check with the support of the Java program and the Support of Java - e-mailer or enter
    a message on their site if possible. Possible the program makes a wrong call.

  • "Call the executable" allows the environment variable "path"?

    Hello

    It seems that when you use the step type "call the executable" you need to enter the absolute path of the executable, or the absolute working directory, in the definition of "call settings" step.  I seem not to be able to put in a *.exe by himself in the path and have the command is found, even if I can't enter this same command on the command line (windows 7).  Is it possible to configure this step to use the windows ' path' environment variable to search for the executable?

    David J.

    You can do the following:

    (1) specify cmd.exe for the file path.

    (2) specify "/c yourexe.exe" for the argument expression

    This will launch a command window and tell it to run your application with the simple file name.

    The reason why you can't put just yourexe.exe in the path of file is that TestStand made its own resolution of file path that is different from what the window command. It uses its directories to search to resolve relative paths. If you do not have to specify an absolute path for the file path parameter, but it must be compared to a TestStand search directory or the current sequence file.

    Hope this helps,

  • Set a variable to the selected path name Photoshop

    I am trying to assign the name of the currently selected Photoshop (like, normal) route to a variable.

    I can do it for an artLayer as follows app.activeDocument.activeLayer.name; but I searched the web a way to isolate the active path.

    Could someone help with this?

    Thank you

    Limey

    Ah, I misunderstood.

    This might help:

    determine the path selected, set to day 09.2015.

    function selectedPath2015 () {}

    try {}

    Var ref = new ActionReference();

    ref.putProperty (stringIDToTypeID ("property"), stringIDToTypeID ("targetPathIndex"));

    ref.putEnumerated (charIDToTypeID ("Dcmn"), charIDToTypeID ("Ordn"), charIDToTypeID ("Trgt"));

    var docDesc = executeActionGet (ref);

    return app.activeDocument.pathItems [docDesc.getInteger (stringIDToTypeID ("targetPathIndex"))]

    }

    catch (e) {return undefined}

    };

  • AS3 SWF is not updated to the variables through javascript

    Do not find this one: I have a C4 project with 2 slides.  First slide has a button that executes a Javascript call:

    SetStringVariable("myVar");

    Where myVar is an internal variable of the user of C4 with a default value of "Hello World".

    The second slide a myVar is displayed in a text caption.

    I publish the SWF (AS3) and add this javascript function in the .htm file:

    function SetStringVariable(n)
    {
         document.getElementById('Captivate').SetVariable(n, "I set my variable!");
         alert("my var: " + document.getElementById('Captivate').GetVariable(n));

    }

    When you run the project on the web, the alert comes up with 'I put my variable!', but the legend of slide 2 still says 'Hello World '.  Not sure why this happens since I just did a round trip with the variable.  It is as if the C4 assigns the variable behind the scenes, but is not updated in the user interface.  This will not occur if the C4 project is published in AS2.

    All this experience?  No work around?  I would like to be able to use the SetVariable function in AS3 projects.

    TIA,

    Jim Leichliter

    Sweet - I think I need this thing... :-)  Thank you!

  • PCTCT regardless of the DIRECTORY path variable

    I have a table (list) that called several folders. I use ListGetAt based on the index of the value of cfloop to get the name of the folder I want LISTDIR with PCTCT. I attribute the name of the folder to a variable. Test demonstrates the foldername table works fine. Name of the folder hardcoding in PCTCT gives the desired result. BUT, when I replace all or part of the DIRECTORY = 'path' with the file name-variable default performance is the root directory as defined by the ftp credentials.

    Why DIRECTORY = "" folder/logs / "give me what I want and the DIRECTORY =" # file #/ logs "ignores even when he #folder # is clearly defined?" I used variables inside PCTCT before, so I know that works... I am puzzled, see attached code for reference; (FYI 'files' are assigned to the variable called 'House')

    It turns out that it was a problem of path with the FTP credentials, I'd simply not the path correctly disposed to get code find its target. No one could help with that!

    It makes perfect sence, in OOP, you can just include a class and start to use it, so that there are import features.
    You can only include a flood a/s (no class files).
    Kind regards.

  • How can you determine the absolute path to a NetStream object created dynamically?

    We strive to implement a video captioning with a freeware component, ccforflash. This requires us to provide an absolute path or relative to our NetStream. How can we determine this path in Flash CS5 AS3?

    CCforFlashCS5 documentation:

    2. objects "name and path.

    Type the name and the path.  It is the name of the instance of the object with which CCforFlashAS3 will synchronize. It must be spelled correctly, since CCforFlashAS3 queries the object with this name for the synchronization information to synchronize subtitles. The path must also be included; be compared to the CCforFlashAS3 (i.e. this.parent) component or the absolute path of the main floor of the film (root)".

    I guess I understand your problem and accepts only a great way to identify a path to something compared to doing AS3 AS2.  I'll see if I can raise the interest of someone else in your ad that is a detective better than me.

    But if I can get stoopid for one minute and suggest trying something (I would try it)... If you have access to the code where is instantiated the NetStream object, just after he is given life, assign the instance to a variable, you have in the main timeline and use this variable (and the root timeline or a 'this' - reference database for path requirement) for your CCforFlashCS5 needs.

  • Pass the variable to the embeded swf format

    Hello

    I have a flash movie that uses a loader to load another flash animation. How can I pass variables from one film to the other, without using global variables?  For any help or suggestion would be greatly appreceated.

    If you load another as3 swf, you can reference variables using the correct path.  the main scenario for the loaded swf file is the property of content of your charger (cast as a movieclip).

    If you load an as2 swf, you must use localconnection to communicate between the two rulers.

  • How can I configure the variables shared between executables created in sepparate projects

    Hello

    I have several projects sepparate with their own respective executable files and I would like to be able to these executables to all share the same variable (one program control the value of the variable, while others read her).

    I got this configuration to work on my home computer (being able to access the variable Manager, etc.), but I need to deploy these executables on different computers that do not have the labview development program. What should I do so that I am able to put these executables on any computer (I guess I have to configure a path to the shared variable which is always in the same folder, etc.)

    Thank you

    Vlad

    Hi Vlad,

    I think that this article may answer some of your questions about the variables shared in deployed applications.

    http://zone.NI.com/DevZone/CDA/tut/p/ID/9900

    Looks like you already have your executables built, but this article may answer some questions about their deployment to other machines.

  • String to the Variable of the PSP?

    Hello

    I was hoping I could buid programmatically a variable path shared and then use the Reading Variable VI to read a value.

    Unfortunately, while I can convert a PSP Variable in a string, I can't do the reverse. The output of the string to the shared Variable VI is not recognized by the Reading VI Variable. I tried to convert it to a PSP Variable to help more class specific, but she would not allow LabVIEW or the other.

    Is there a way to convert a string to a variable that is shared by program readable?

    Thank you!

    DUH... I can use the Container Seach VI, as the beginning of my posted code... X_x * slinks away in embarrassment *.
