Amplitude, creating a cd

What is the level of amplitude is required when burning a CD or is this set automatically by the software?

Well, as I tried to say, there are two things going on.

The standard height is the one - 0dB (FS) easy if I would probably recommend being a bit lower, for example - .1dB just to be sure.  You will not hear the difference, and it ensures that there is no clipping distortion.

The most complicated thing is the dynamic range - the difference between the highest and lowest of your mix portions.  If you have one or two very strong bits - even if they are only a fraction of a second--assignment to 0dB causes all things being too quiet.  As I said, hearing has several tools that allow you to control this.  During mixing, it is quite common to use an effect called compression on individual tracks or the final product.  This lets you selectively reduce the peaks at a level predetermined, then pushed to the desired level.  From your description, it looks like a dynamic range can be more a problem than the absolute maximum.  Compression takes a bit to learn to make any adjustments if... If you want a good basic description of how it works, take a look at the dynamic - processors technologies & Applications

Another tool which is useful on a final mix (but takes a bit of care) is effects/Amplitude and Compression/hard limiter.

On this point, you can set the maximum amplitude you want - say - 0.1DB.  Then the following slider is the input gain.  Take a look at the waveform for mixing and note where most of the lie "average peaks."  Let's say that they are around of - 8dB (FS).  Set the Gain to + 8 and these settings will ensure that nothing beyond of-0.1, but will stimulate everything upward on your CD.  Note that these are the only examples... you will have to decide in the ear (and the eye on the waveform) what are the settings that suit you.

I hope this helps.

  • Ideas on how to create a sine wave between 0 and 10 V with NI 5412?

    Hello

I tried to create a sine wave from 0 to 10 volts on a 5412 OR. I have 2 problems and I have a question:

    (1) I can't generate a waveform with lag, even when using the examples of NEITHER.

    (2) the value of the offset, that I can set the camera is of +/-25% range of amplitudes. Do I have to create an arbitrary waveform myself?

    (3) in the brochure it says I can get 12 v peak-to-peak. Does this mean that it is between-6 and 6, or it is between 0 and 12?

I would appreciate it if I could see an example.

    Thank you very much.

    Hi, several notes:

    (1) the peak to peak voltage is 12V. For example, it can operate between 0 - 12V.

    (2) the shift of 25% limit is for a given wave. That means assuming that it will create a wave, it cannot compensate for 25% of the beach. The solution is to create an arbitrary wave (e.g. a sine between 0 and 10 V) and the function generator to create rather than attempt to compensate for a sine wave.

    Thanks for the help though.

    Hi Solanki-

The amplitude of the CLKOUT signal is selectable by software between two levels.  Under a 50 ohm load, you can change the amplitude of 1 p to 2.5 V p Pei Pei V using a niSync property node.  This can be found in LabVIEW under the palette of NOR-SYNC.  Place the property node down and click on the word "Property".  Select Properties Clk» Clk Out Gain Enable.  Then right-click on the property node, and then select "Change while writing."  Then right-click on the entrance to the property and select Create' constant.  The constant change True and your CLKOUT will be high.

  • How do I create a traction voltage as a control signal upward?

I use a minimum/maximum statistics module, but is unable to route the analog data to all 16 entries that I need this module (I suppose a limitation of current car, but I don't know why this would be necessary in the software). My first thought was to use a Signal Amplitude controlled router to expand this case 15th signal at 16. It seems that, since I want the router to Signal to be always active (ON) that I don't want to pull up to command input the Signal from the router. How to create a pull upward which is common in digital electronics for this?

It is not a limitation of current car, but simply that you can plug a wire 15 times, for up to 16 destinations. You can work around this by inserting a module of scaling, the NOP value, then its output for up to 16 more destinations.

  • Amplitude digitizer

I am creating a style for an old scanner (DC240) amplitude oscilliscope interface. Since it is an old system of MXI - 3, the only way I could connect it is by the amplitude PCI compact Crate (cc108) with controller MXI-3 (XC100) to a PXI-8335 with MXI-3 fitting in a PXI system OR managed by an on-board controller Garland (PXI-8104 running Windows XP). Because this Fund is not OR (and does not have a chassis.ini file anywhere where I can find driver, program files, etc.), MAX does not recognize the chassis, it displays simply as 'unidentified chassis' and therefore does not display the digitizer itself as a device. The digitizer is certainly connected, however, because in a non-LabView software program that came with the scanner, it does not work properly.

With this hardware configuration, I'm trying to run some pre-made LabView VI, which initializes the scanners, but they crash or can not find the digitizer. The initialize function is supposed to return an int "intrsumentID", but simply display an error message. Would it not be possible to write my own initialize VI who finds the digitizer and returns this ID? I wish I could describe in more detail what is the funciton initialize pre-made, but uses just a "call library function node" to call a DLL file that I can't access.

I don't know the serial number and the PCI/location of bus of the digitizer hardware ID, but to enter this information into the pre-made VI (he supposedly can read the PCI info or the serial number string to locate the digitizer) does not work. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

I was acutally could get it running using the wizard of the Driver NI-VISA and upward! I had problems with this at first because I could not find all the necessary information in the documentation of my instrument, but it was all contained in the Instance ID of the device in Device Manager, that I found here: http://www.home.agilent.com/agilent/editorial.jspx?cc=US&lc=eng&ckey=2039700&nid=-11143.0.00&id=2039....

I thought trying to connect directly as you suggested, but I think my digitizer cards are double the height of the NI PXI chassis, so I could connect the PXI cards in my crate amplitude but not vice versa.

Thanks for the help! The suggestion of VISA definitely showed me in the right direction.

  • Plotting the amplitude of a spectral peak over time

    Hello

I am creating a VI where the acquired continuously DAQ, plots and save a waveform in millisecond delay (which is already done in this case), then takes this waveform, finds a specific pic (probably the first) and trace the amplitude of this pic over time (+ 30 minutes, one point each scan which is obtained). Essentially, I have a detector quickly attached to a chromatograph, and I want to select a single ion and monitor the amplitude of this ion. I can draw the waveforms along with it in post processing, but I want to do is to have the 'slow' constantly plot to update and display when it moves through time. Joined the VI will go in, using IMS software V1.3.vi, the paragraph is the "GC" Mode it seems I should use the "peak detect.vi.", but I'm not familiar with this operation, and so I don't know how to show a constantly updated graphic or remove the amplitudes and draw. Thank you for your help,

I have not watched your VI (because I'm in a previous version of LabVIEW), but it's probably because your graphic is outside the loop.

Here's how you can get a graph of the peaks (all vertices, by iteration):

Or if you want to only a certain PEAK (and how this pic changes with the number of iterations):

  • Generator functions agilent modulated the amplitude of the voltage so that the signal

    Hello

    I'm new on the Labview.

I need to provide a series of tensions with increases step on my device and it repeats again and again.

    For example, (5V 0V to 10V 0V 0V 15V) * 5 times

In the past, I turned down on the generator Panel of Agilent 33220 functions by myself.

It's stupid, so I will try to use the Labview to do the same.

I have download the Agilent 33220 Vi function generator has and write a loop for to do this. It can work.

But I found a problem. Each change of amplitude voltage, generator Agilent 33220 A functions will cease to exit and then output the new value.

Because this short period of no output voltage, the dynamic behavior of my device will be destroyed.

    How can I do?

You made a classic mistake. You have placed the Initialize and close inside the loop. The Initialize will, by default, perform a reset feature, which disables the output. Initialize outside a loop, do your stuff inside and close the loop.

Regarding your code: I strongly recommend looking at the model of ramp function. It seems you want to increase the parameters of voltage to zero between the two. This can be easily done by creating your rising tensions ramp and then creating another matrix of the same size zeros and interlacing then the two tables. This will give you a complete range of voltage values, without to need two loops and determine what step you are on, etc. etc. For example, the following code will give you 5, 0, 0, 10, 15, 0 sequence fairly cleanly:

In addition, never perform a comparison of equality on the floats. If not, you owe me nickel one another in my retirement fund.

  • How to create an analog signal of a text or a binary file?

I'm trying out an analog signal of a file on a map of NOR-DAQ 6251 with labview 8.5. I found examples on the construction of a waveform, but I'm stuck at how read a text file and do a 1 d table to enter my amplitudes in the buildwaveform.vi and I can't find all the information on how to do it. Help or direction is appreciated.

    Thank you

    David

What if all you want in the file corresponds to the values of Y, then a text file with a value on each line can be read. Read from a usable spreadsheet file. It will return a 2D you can then use array index to get a column or if you select Transpose, the array returned by 1 d would be used.

If you want to create an example, use a 1-d array constant in a VI and pass it to the writing on a spreadsheet file.

  • The amplitude of the frequency. Bode CD. State space

    Hi all

Gently, I have a simple model that gives me a Bode phase and magnitude, using the block 'CD Bode'. AFAIK, this block takes the representation of the State space and assesses the frequency and scale of the system.

Can I change the value of the Phase or amplitude Bode? by means change the input signal that bode uses to evaluate the response of the State space?

Note: The entry, I want to say here is the value of the sinusoidal signal that Bode uses to give the phase and the amplitude of the State space.

    Thank you

The works of Bode CD functions as a "sweep" of all frequencies and who you are. The algorithm is not a frequency controlled, he comes back the entire spectrum. You can't just get a specific frequency. However, if you use the fuction 'Assess frequency of CD', you can provide the model and frequency, and this will give you the specific Mag/Phase for this frequency. This example shows how to do this in LabVIEW:

    C:\Program Files (x 86) \National Instruments\LabVIEW 2014\examples\Control and Simulation\Control Design\Time Analysis\CDEx Lin Simulation and stable State.vi

Now, if you want to 'form' your frequency, so you can create another model, connect with each other and try to change the output frequency. This example shows how to do this:

    C:\Program Files (x 86) \National Instruments\LabVIEW 2014\examples\Control and Simulation\Control Design\Frequency Analysis\CDEx frequency analysis

If you just want to "simulate" the response of the signal to a specific sine wave, then you will need to you another function in the time domain palette called "linear Simulation CD. With this, you can generate a specific sine wave and you can see his behavior in the time domain. Here is an example:

    C:\Program Files (x 86) \National Instruments\LabVIEW 2014\examples\Control and Simulation\Control Design\Time Analysis\CDEx sine wave with Mathscript.vi

  • create a spectrum of the order from scratch (i.e. get a fft-based on the position of the same time deductions in the sample data)

    Hello people,

    THAT THE QUESTION PERTAINS TO:

I play on 2 parameters of a system based on the sampling time: Rotary position and vibration (accelerometer g increments).  I want to take a fft based on the post to create a spectrum of the amplitude-phase speed order in / s.  To do this, perform the following:

1 integrate (and scale) g vibration signal in the / s (SVT Integration.vi)

2 signal sampled vibration resample the same time at an angle similarly charged signal (ma-resample unevenly sampled input (linear interpolation) .vi)

    THE QUESTION:

Order in which operations should be carried out, integrate then resample or vice versa?  I didn't order would be important, but using the same set of data, the results are radically different.

    OR ORDER ANALYSIS 2.0 TOOLSET:

I have the NO order Analysis Toolset 2.0, but I could not find a way to get the speed profile generation live to work with signals of position encoder DAQmx (via pxi-6602) quadrature.  In addition, it seems that I have to specify all the commands I'm interested to watch, which I don't really know at this point (I want to see all available commands) so I decided to do my own fft based on the post to get a spectrum of the order.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Chris

The order is to integrate the time domain of first - creating a speed channel.  You now have a new channel of data.  In general I would put this in the same table of waveform with waves of acceleration time.

Then re - sample your acceleration and/or your speed signals, and then you can calculate the spectrum of the order.

  • Create signals that are customized by using the spreadsheet of settings.

    Hello

I'm quite new to LabVIEW but I have a complicated program to create. This framework requires a waveform from a spreadsheet of settings, attached.

I have attached a chart of the appearance of the waveform. As you can see the different parameters related to durations and amplitudes of the wave as well as the frequency and the amplitude of the sine wave in the middle.

In addition to this the program must travel creating each waveform in succession that the values in the change of worksheet for each different test.

I managed to read the file in spreadsheet, make a chart from this and then I tried index table online to send to a loop for which would go through each test, but I don't know how to create the waveform of these values. I have tried to use the labView signal generators to create individual sections of the wave but struggled.

    Thanks for any help.

Combine the GERD and my suggestions.  I had not used the Signal generation pallet front screw, but they manage most of the "math" for you.  The key step, you have to decide is what interval to use for "dt", "quantum" time, usually the same as the sampling interval.  Looking at your picture of waveform, you have a pulse, a ramp, a series of sinusoids, another ramp and a final push.  When you look at an individual Palette, it has parameters "dimensionless" you need to adjust to your particular situation.

Consider the ramp time T3, starting at V1 and ends at V3.  Assume that your sampling interval is "dt".  You samples, end, thread and start entries in the ramp model based on the samples as follows:

    • samples = T3 / dt
    • end = V3
    • Start = V1

Since you continue where you left it, I think that you do not want to "exclude the end?" thread true (to avoid double points), but I could be wrong on this matter.

To the sinusoid, you have need samples, amplitude, phase and cycles.  Samples is again the total length of the sinusoid divided by dt.  The amplitude is one, phase is 180 (notice that your sinusoid starts negative), and cycles is however several cycles you want during the period of the sinusoid.  This sine wave, however, will be about 0, so you will need to add the offset constant V3 on the table.

After having assembled all the pieces of this wave form complex and are concatenated berries resulting from it, have to turn them into a proper waveform.  Drop a wave function of building on the block diagram, drag to the top of its upper part a 'click' to expose dt and wire in dt and your table (Y).  You now have a good waveform.

  • Create horizontal lines on a graph

I'm looking to create horizontal lines on my paintings of waveform. I know that I can't use the cursors on a chart, but I want to find a way to draw lines on the y-axis of a graph (chart) of a control on my front. The reason is: I am in a position a sinusoidal signal that changes in amplitude due to the deformation of a material. I need to adjust the length of these horizontal lines using as reference.

I understand that I could use the limits of the curve because of it, but then I wouldn't be able to tell how long out of bounds, I. I am a super novice to Labview and you guys have been such a great help with all my endeavorsso far. Any suggestions?

Draw several lines in the table, where two of the parcels are borders. I don't remember the exact requirements, but you can probably do it by grouping the values or the construction of a table. Check the contextual help and the examples in the table.

Is it possible to dynamically change the cyclical report parameter in the "create an analog Signal?
