Animating text in AE?

Hi all!

So for starters, I am on Windows 7 and I have AfterEffects CS5.

After making my animations and video made in Photoshop (CS5, too), I turned to After Effects to do some simple (well I hope, it's simple) text animations.

It's for a spooky project so I was hoping to make an animation where text moves slowly toward the camera, some letters blink.

Another animation that I believe would be even easier it is simply the blinking text.

I'm having a hard time trying to find a tutorial or an example of how to make these animations while trying to figure out After Effects (first time, the user cannot tell you?) I'm glad the movie is imported correctly, but text animators, it's causing me problems.

I really hope that it's a simple solution and I suffer just to stay in place too late and think too much about.

Thank you very much for any help!

To animate text for anything other than the scale, rotation, and position, you must add text animations. Choose one of the preset text Animation in the effect controls panel and predefined settings and then select the text layer and press the U key twice to reveal all the magic.

For flashing random letters on and off you would add an opacity animator and then throw little random in the range of the selector values. There is a predefined text animation evaporate called which will give you a starting point. You can find it by type eva in the effects and presets:

This anime scale, opacity and blur and looks like this in the timeline:

Learn more about animating text by typing text in the search help field in the upper right corner of the app:

You will find all kinds of resources. Adobe - search: text. The help files and tutorials on Adobe TV will take you far away from understanding the process of animating text.

When you have the text animating the way you want and then create it text 3D layer and add a camera to the model, and then animate the z order of the camera slowly move on your text or animate the z order of transformation of the text layer > position the property to move the text layer closer to the camera.

  • Captivate 8 - animated text stops at halfway through the game

I've created a presentation with CAP8 and find the animated text does not play in its entirety, but stops at half way through.

for example, animation type [email protected] and then on a new line in the same text box [email protected]

Preview slide it works perfectly. It runs behind the scenes of five next overview and publication all [email protected] and then hangs after typing johnbe

In fact, it stops the video, it seems, as I hit play to resume, then type the rr and will complement the enamel on a third time hitting play.

I get the same thing on the next slide with two animations three text which are run at the same time and again on the next slide. I want to emphasize that this is not fair on a slide.

I changed the settings in the properties of the 'rest of slide' term"animation", and there is no change. I lengthened the timing just in case it makes a difference, even if I use buttons shape to evolve to the next slide. No change.

    Any suggestions please?

There is a button of form having paused a little before 2secs and the other at 2secs. How long is the duration of text? I think he is interrupted by these buttons.

  • Animating text box is truncated - CP6

I'm still getting my head around Captivate so probably I do something wrong, but I can't understand what it is.

I created a new empty project with multiple slides. On one of the slides, I inserted a text box animated, entered the text and resize the box to allow the text to be read with the help of about 3/4 of the width of the blade.  It seemed OK in CP6, but when I published the animation stopped at half way through the first line, I tried different animations and had the same result. When I deleted the text box animated and used a simple text with the same content, resized box as before, it shows the text using the largest part of the screen width that I intended.

    What I am doing wrong?

    Thank you

    Tony,

You may have an interactive object that is a break in the time necessary for the animated text (I assume you mean by "animated text box"?)? Check in the timeline panel if you do not see a button (or a text entry box) who has a break (two vertical lines somewhere in their time line), or click box which has a shorter than the slide timeline (he pauses at the end of his chronology). If you don't understand what I'm asking, please post a screenshot of the timeline for this slide (using the small icon of camera fixed in the version of the browser of the forum).

Click on the symbol of the text and create static text that you want to animate.  When you are finished, right-click on the text and click on convert to symbol/movieclip.  Then use the timeline for the motion tween and tween alpha your movieclip.

  • Length of the animated text

There seems to be a fixed length to the reading of the animated text. So far, I have used only short phrases for animated text, but today, I used a phrase with 50 letters and spaces total. When I run the project, only 35 characters and spaces read.

Is it a fixed number? I notice in the properties of the box width and height settings are greyed out and I can't change. I can type any expression that I want in the text entry area but only so much of it plays back.

I tried to make two animated with text boxes playing one after the other and that doesn't work anymore. I had more than one animated text play after another front and look at that project but it has me stupmed.

I hope someone can answer this. Thank you.

    Hi Jeff

I just tested with about 65 characters and it worked. So I say that this is not a limitation of character. Chances are, you'll probably find it's more related to how long you have timed the animation in the game, as well as perhaps if you have something else on the slide that is the origin of the slide to pause before the end of the animation.

Have you tried simply to extend the playing time of the animation?

  • A question about animating text...

I see that the HTML 5 browser does not Captivate 8 text animation support. Is it possible to have animation of text appear in a HTML 5 browser or is it just like that? It's probably just like that.

That said, invisible object should I put on top of it to make a hotspot button, so she can go to the next slide?

    Thank you.

Text animations are the reason why they don't are not supported in HTML, SWF files.

You can use a click box, a button that you make it transparent or place the text

in a form that serves as button

  • I use 8 Captivate and can't operate animation text!

I haven't used the Captivate since 3 and text Animation was so simple.

When I go to the text and try to choose the text Animation it is gray.

When I click on my text box and you try to add an effect, I have to go.  When I find my text Animation file, it is empty! HOWEVER, the strangest thing is when I navigate manually via my computer to this folder, it is full of all the animation files I expect.

How something so simple... seem so DIFFICULT?

Thanks for the thoughts on why I can't add a text animation.

Text animations are not compatible with HTML output, could this be the problem?

To insert an Animation of text, use the option under the big button "text".

I created some animated effects, now I know that I can't import that into Muse, but what kind of program can be used to duplicate this idea?

Adobe Animate is the application that you want to use, and then create a file .oam that you can integrate in Muse

Your workflow is a bit wonky. Create a new text layer, Type in some text, move the CTI to the time where you want the animation to start, make sure that the text layer is selected, go to bridge and apply an animation using bridge by double-clicking. Drag the CTI to the bottom of the timeline to see if the animation was applied. If no animation has been added to a text layer, make sure that the text layer is selected and press U twice to see if changes have been made to the layer. Is was here no modification of the layer, and then make sure that EI and the bridge are up-to-date. If your versions are not and bridge and AE are not up-to-date, it is highly unlikely that you will be able to apply the animation to the bridge press.

If you can't Bridge works then just the effect controls panel and preset and then find the one you want by typing the first letters of the name of the preset in the field find and apply the preset by dragging the PCE to the layer. Once the preset is applied, make sure that the text layer is selected and press U twice to reveal all properties modified layer of text so you can adjust the timing of the animation.

  • Change the "Source name" in animating text

How to do (or what I can) change the name of 'Source' in the text animation. What clique top nothing happens.

When a layer is selected in the timeline, all that you have to do is press the Enter key, the keyboard just right above the SHIFT key, and then type a new name. This will rename any layer but will not change the content of a text later. To change the content click twice on the text layer in the timeline panel to select all of the type, and then type new words.

  • Animating text not appearing is not in Captivate 6.0

    Hello

I am facing some problems when you attempt to insert text animation using the widget text animation.

    1. in the widget Properties window, the drop-down list of fonts is turned off.

    2. I inserted just one example of text with some default font, there, but when I saw or publish, the only animation is displayed and no example of text I inserted.

    I use 6 Captivate on a Win 7 (64 bit) system.

I have Captivate 5.5 on the same system, and surprisingly, it works perfectly well in that. (widget properties and published version)

    How to solve this problem?

  • Create a title with animated text

This question has been posted in response to the following article: http://help.Adobe.com/en_US/premiereelements/using/WS863957C0-0FD4-4d7c-87DC-EEA9EDF29F15. html

    (2) choose the animation that you want to apply?

    (3) guarantees that your text is only one line long?

  • Animating text in first Elements 9

    Hello

I would like to know if it is possible to add 2 animations on a text (Fade In and Fade Out for example) or do I need to create 2 identical text boxes to have both?

And in this case how can I be sure that the two text boxes are identical (I tried to copy and paste, but this applies also to the animations that I don't want).

    Thanks for your help.

Fade In and Fade Out are not technically text animations, you can certainly add them both to the same title element (which you can to any clip).

To add these, as I show in my books, make sure that you are in editing mode and search for the title on your timeline element. (Small change the workspace. NOT in the Titler edition workspace.) Right-click and select melted in the video, then click again on the clip and select Fade Out Video.

  • Animated text

How I would go about creating a line growing under the text as the first second of this video? https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=vEXCugceelE

Use the Titler to create the line.

Apply the effect keyframe cropping and the percentages of left and right.
