• Post: first slide flashes then disappears; will not play

  I'm working on a project which has already published without problem. Now when I post (no settings have been changed as I remember) the first slide flashes on the screen and then disappears, and there is nothing--no bar playback, no sound, just a white screen.

  I tried Flash 9 and 10, full screen and full screen no, preloader and outside, AutoPlay, and outside, and it is always set to 30 frames per second.

  I tried to create a new empty project and paste slides in and which did not help. There are only 38 slides (29 with audio), and ~ 16Mbs.

  The preview plays without problem.

• Flash (swf) files will not play LOCALLY

  For a few years now, I've been making Flash demos embedded in an HTML page for viewing online. The same exact pages also work offline, IE. from a CD, USB, or another PC of evil by car.
  
  Suddenly, which just stopped working! I've done all the troubleshooting and elimination of bug I can do - there is no reason I could find why pages that provide fine on my PC and creating work perfectly when it is online, does more when the same location of this directory is taken to another PC.
  
  All the links are in place, I can view the SWF from USB when I drag / drop the file in a browser (so the plugins are very good), I know that the link is correct, but when the HTML is seen locally from another machine, the embedded SWF just... never appears. My old pages made in the same way work always, but not not new pages. I compared the code side-by-side and everything seems fine...

  I THOUGHT ABOUT IT! The AC_RunActiveContent.js script treated him not properly pathed to Dreamweaver, even when new pages have been made. For the script to create the first time (and he didn't mention it again after this), you have to start a whole new site. Once I did, the clues has finally started to assemble. I've tried disabling the addon of shockwave, relocation, etc., but nothing works. This problem is with firefox only because as the Chrome and Explorer the flash player works fine.

  We have recently updated to Captivate 5.5

  For some reason any incorporated flash animations will not play in CP 5.5 they play perfectly fine in preview mode of a slide in CP (F3), but will not play when I publish the project or get a glimpse of the output using F4.

  Flash animations are of different versions of Flash (3 CS, CS 4 and CS 5), and some use AS 2.0, some AS 3.0. The problem is valid for all .swf files

  Does anyone have an idea? This is starting to drive me crazy...

  Please let me know if I have to describe the issue in more detail.

  I love this player the "rocket" 4 GB, better than the 260e I used to have. But I had only used 1 hour when he stopped playing and flashed a box pink with black letters.   Since I've upgraded to Windows 8 Youtube and other flash videos will not play smoothly.  When I press play, the video freezes on an image and the sound is fine but the image is locked for several seconds.  So if it starts to play, he is so rough its not watchable.  If I pause the video and let it buffer for a bit and press play again it works usually smooth for 3-4 seconds in the rough again goes.

  Hello I am puzzled that flash will not play some videos

  (for example from dailymotion.com or canalplus.fr).

  The problem exists with the current version (10,3 r183)

  But if I try to downgrade or with v11 beta...

  On the same machine, I can also boot XP or linux

  Let's try the following:

  1. Close the browser windows
  2. In Explorer, navigate to the following folder: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\ (the best way to do this is to type %appdata%\microsoft\windows\sendto in the path of the Explorer bar).
  3. Remove the Macromedia folder
  4. Then, go to the Adobe folder and delete the folder 'Flash Player' inside.
  5. Finally, go to "c:\windows\system32\macromed\flash" and look for a file mms.cfg.  If it is present, please rename it.

  Once done, try those sites to reoffend.

  This is the HTML generated by Flash 8. I noted that the publication of Flash 8 settings are set to 'Default' and the other Flash file that works is set to "Flash CS4 Settings."   Thank you. I've decided to basically start from scratch on this model. It works now. As you say, must have been the unfinished function.

• Movie Maker: Does not work! A similar program: will not play!

  So I just got me a new computer HP desktop with XP and everything works fantastic with the exception of Windows Movie Maker. I use it on a regualr basis to create 2d animation frame-by-frame and it is important that I have functional. Unfortunately, when I open it, it is quick to give me a window "has encountered a problem / needs to close." The debug option is useless. What is really strange is that I managed to get a very similar program called "Camtasia. This program works, although it will not play videos, even his own tutorials! Audio, however, works very well. I find as strange as Media Player plays video smoothly, seems to work on the same basis as the viewers of other programs...?

  Things that I've tried, from other responses on blogs, etc. :

  -Reinstall Movie maker

  -Uninstalling Movie maker (it says it cannot)

  -Apparently essential codec packs, one at a time, uninstall the last to avoid "clash".

  -Installation of DIVX

  -Remove, reinstall Adobe Flash player

  -Updated Windows service pack 3

  -Updated ActiveX (including suggested Internet security 'custom settings' to allow ActiveX to do his stuff by choosing prompting options

  instead of being completely disabled

  -Ask my technical friends, suggesting a codec problem.

  I've been at this for eight hours, and this is my last ditch in order to understand this. Help, please!
