Any way to mute audio while (RAM) Preview frames are rendered?

I scoured the boards to do this and I can't seem to find an answer. My system is working well, but since the new preview function, (formerly 'Preview RAM') has been implemented whenever I give an overview of the system "beeps" audio, image by image, such that it makes. It's as if she strives to re-read everything to 1 or 2 images per second, including audio. It is extremely annoying when you have made a long enough with audio necessary for reading, especially with a customer in the room, trying to make a phone call while the system leaves escape 'PPE.... " EPP... EPP... PPE' a few minutes wile the timeline bar is becoming green.

Of course, you can manually cut the machine while rendering that is happening, but is possible to return to the fashion preview RAM worked? In other words, to cache all frames before trying audio playback?

My apologies if I missed this in the preference settings or boards.

S.

Hello Stephen,

What is the version of After Effects that you use?

If you are CC 2015 go to After Effects > Preferences > Previews and check the option that says "Mute Audio at the premiere is not real-time.

  • Problem with Audio and RAM Preview

    Hello

I'm fairly new to After Effects, and I quickly fell on an Audio problem.
OK, so I have a single pre composed sequence, and while in that order I can hear just fine video excerpts (press space), I can also listen to extracts Audio Only very well (by pressing (.) on the numeric pad keyboard) and I

can also make a RAM with video and audio preview as well. But let's say that, when the RAM Preview load, and he started playing (video and audio, fine), let's say I want to pause the video in 10 seconds. I could do that just by pressing space, but then when I want to continue previewing RAM (by pressing 0, or by clicking on the icon), it is starts playing from the beginning and not from the position of my head from reading, when I stopped (which is 10 seconds).

So my question is: how to take back the position of my head of reading RAM Preview?

Keep in mind that I could continue the preview by pressing the SPACEBAR or (.) on the numeric keypad, but who would take just (in the first case), audio or video playback (in the second case).

    Thanks in advance.

  • ANY way to monitor audio files on a 70 d when shooting video?

I know there is a meter if you go to the menu, but I want to follow live with headphones on what comes out, not what is happening.  I can monitor the entry but want to make sure that the output is not saturated.  Any advice would be wonderful.  I tried to connect the A / V cable of the camera and audio surveillance there during the filming, but it does not work.  I know that the HDMI audio is muted during recording, as well.  This isn't a minor issue for those of us who want to ensure that we have sound quality, I use a mixer and multiple sources during the shooting.

    Summersond,

It is not a method to produce the audio signal only the EOS 70 d with headphones while recording video.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may bring you at this time.

  • Any way to record Audio narration first and then video then?

I think it's a better workflow (and ends up being faster than both both audio and recording after). We found another program that will allow us to do (but that has fewer features than Captivate).

Our work will not spring for the two so we're throwing on the workflow functions (unless someone knows how do - hopefully its really obvious and I were just being dumb).

I know that in the past, people have used the notes in a PowerPoint slide - just seems weird, you can't do it for other types of video recording and demos.

    Any ideas?

Scaffolding is a pedagogical concept in education. This is a pretty good explanation (even just the first paragraph): http://edglossary.org/scaffolding/

Scaffolding of process (and providing limitation or restriction) can be a good way to ensure a higher quality end product. If you use a software like Adobe voice he had built scaffolding process and restrictions. First you choose a structure (who made suggestions on what should cover each slide), and then you save the audio (never longer than ten seconds at a time) and then you adjust your layout and then you choose icons or images or text you sort your music and then you go through and then you export (and adjust export credits and titles). This is a truncated version of the film process that will guide you to make a better product. It's (one of the reasons) for which voice projects come out much more pleasant and the profession you could do on other software. You could do the same thing with PowerPoint, but you would use copious workaround solutions to get your content and PowerPoint does not provide you with this scaffolding as well, even as the most talented producers still fighting produce something better than a typical project of the voice.

I'm not fussed on the subject all beings in a single product. I use the product adobe for over 15 years now - I can switch between programs that respond to different tasks. The real reason, I can't use both, it's that my work won't pay for two software which have similar results. If Captivate could do screencast-o-matic can do (without the workaround solutions), it would be a simple choice to go with Captivate. It would be even to be in the Captivate program - it could be in a sister program available with package of Captivate. The same way After Effects and first compliment.

Now, it seems Captivate has more functions, but an integrated of any process which means that we will probably just stick with Screencast-O-Matic.

What I want to really, it is on Adobe to take the understanding of theories and teaching that they applied to the voice and slate and apply that Captivate (or a program that is packaged in a purchase of Captivate). I think it's weird that they have not yet...

  • Audio advanced by 3 frames when rendering

    Hello

Thanks in advance for your help.

    I'm using CS5 Production Suite.

    The cameras are:

    Sony FX1000

    Sony AX2000

    Sony V1U

    Sony SR11

    Canon 7 d

Sequences are created using an XDCAM HD 1080 30 p preset.

I'm shooting videos of live music & videos are shot in 30 p (most of the pieces at 1920 x 1080 with the FX1000 at 1440 x 1080, all at 48 kHz stereo).

The H.264 preset has been slightly modified in order to restore to 1280 x 720, 30 P, audio is turned and made by 48 Khz stereo.

In the window of editing things are perfectly synchronized.  When I export to a MP4 file using the H.264 preset audio gets rendered out of sync advanced 3 images.  If I go into the editing window and delay the audio of 3 images, it makes the output file in perfect synchronization.  This is the case for the audio tracks on the device, multi-cam editing audio tracks and the tracks with imported files wave audio in Cubase produced by the sound engineer.

Can someone help me understand why this makes out of sync?

    Thank you

    Mel,

Let us know how it works. It was a great novelty in PrPro CS5 and earn a lot of effort with G-Spot and then typing in the attributes of the source footage.

  • RAM preview will not stop running once?

I'm obviously trying to RAM Preview a project and for some reason any now when I run the RAM Preview... it will run through... and once it gets to the end, he makes a loop and performs a loop and loops. Not normally a big problem since I was usually able to stop with one of the other Preview button or a button ESC or something. For some reason any now... nothing that I don't constantly RAM Preview. The only thing I can do is a ctrl + alt + delete to stop it (not really closing After Effects, just the simple fact to bring up Task Manager to stop it).  Any ideas of what I could have pushed, what could happen?

Well... seems to have fixed itself, I don't know what happened. Thanks anyway.

  • CS4 - preview image of rendering not up to scale and correctly place

    Hello

I am trying to edit video captured with a GoPro R4 mode.
She produced videos in the following format:
    1280 x 960
    1.0 square pixels
    29.97 FPS

I created a sequence corresponding to these parameters. When no effect is added to the element in the sequence, playback is fine in the preview of footage Panel.

Things starts to be annoying when I change the clip. I have the red bar on the clip telling me that I have to make an overview. And it's true, playback jumps and lag.

Here are some pictures of the result of rendering preview:

    during playback:

    playing_image.png

Image above shows that both clips are on the same image. No effects applied next to a title.

During the game no and clicking on the preview image:

    clicked_image.png

Image is centered, but the report has changed.

Investigation of this problem showed em that the videos made changed resolution (which makes sense), but they also changed the ratio of the original video.
    Original video is 1280 * 960 for a 4:3 ratio, while the preview videos are 720 * 480 (No 4:3).

Now, I tried to change the rendering preview here:

    preview_settings.png

I have had no success. Codecs only found to not change the resolution of the preview are "uncompressed UYVY 422 8 bit' and 'V210 10-bit YUV. These codec produce videos of high quality (same resolution, high speed) noticed that my computer still have problem to play.

    I am not wiser.

In my choice of parameters, the only preview file format I have is AVI to microsoft.

    Thus,.

    1. someone already had this problem? (and knows how to solve this )

2 How can I have more choices than AVI to a preview file format.

    3. How can I install codecs overview most to test different options?

    4. the suggestions, comments?

Please, keep in mind that I'm still discovering adobe first. I started to play with it only 2 days ago. It is pretty well the last problem I have before I start editing my pictures.

    Thanks to you all.

    PS

Sorry if my English is not perfect, it is not my main langugage.

I updated adobe 4.0 to 4.2.1 version first and it seems to have solved my problem.

I used another preset sequence (AVCHD 720 p with a custom resolution) and only rendering preview "MPEG I-frame" format and the problem disappeared.

Now, when I export, the result seems to be a little skippy/laggy...but this problem will be saved for another discussion.

Thank you all for your time.

  • Audio imported video m4v jumps into the RAM Preview and make, but in the original film file

I import a video file .m4v in my After Effects project, and the sound jumps all random another second in RAM Preview and render output. However, the original .m4v video file plays audio very well when I play it on its own outside of After Effects.

I use after effects CC 2014 on OS X 10.11.6. The video file plays fine in QuickTime and VLC.

    Any ideas? Thank you!

AE does play very well with the audio compressed; Sometimes it is fine, other times it isn't.  Use a different application to export the audio as wav or aiff.  Import it into AE.  Disable the current speaker to your audio icon.  Add audio exported to the comp.  See if it works.

  • RAM Preview with Audio

How to get a preview of the video with sound (when I press 0), more than 30 sec long? If it is possible at all the... It wtites I don't have not enough resources for the RAM to listen to... seconds audio, even when I select a range on 2-3 minutes...

If you need more time with your ram previews adjust the Zoom Ratio factor or to 25% magnification and resolution on Auto or set a resolution of 1/4. If that always gets you not what you want to set ignore frames at 1 or 2 in the Preview Panel. It is the only way to measure in the preview.

If you use AE to edit you do not work effectively. AE is for the creation of pictures and short clips. A project of more than a few seconds may be better served by break up in scenes or short sequences, to make the pieces, then editing and polishing in Premiere Pro or your NLE of choice. I even cut animations of dynamic text (often improperly called lyric video) upward in one or two phrases or sentences, then do the final cut in first. It helps me to do in about half the time.

  • warning "RAM Preview has 2 or more images" after audio cleanup after effects CC 2014 (13.0)

The After Effects team are investigating a bug in after effects CC 2104 (13.0) where a memory leak during audio cleanup (hold CTRL or command all rubbing). This leak memory can possibly consume RAM everything is free, which can cause the warning message "after effects error: Preview RAM 2 or more images for reading needs" when you try to open a RAM Preview.

While we look at this problem, you can prevent the leakage of bug and memory is not a cleaning with audio. In case of problems you can solve it by closing and restarting After Effects.

  • Is there any way of Audio loop using Commons to edge?

    Hello

I get on really well using Commons of edges to add audio to my animations (fantastic piece of kit, by the way - thanks simonwidjaja!).

However, during playback of a sound through the trigger EC. Sound.Play ("mySound"); works brilliantly for the individual instances of sound I totally failed to find a way to get audio files to complete.

I've been struggling with this for an age now and really have not got anywhere at all. I know Commons of edge incorporates SoundJS and I know that SoundJS offers a possibility of audio loop but I don't see a way to get there via the common edge script.

Method of the SoundJS seems to be formulated as:

static SoundInstance play (interruption, delay, offset, loop, volume, pan, value)

And in the municipalities of edge I can find:

    var instance = SoundJS.play (soundId, SoundJS.INTERRUPT_NONE, 0, 0, false, 1);

which I assume (maybe wrongly?) refers to the SoundJS above.

I'm guessing (as has been mentioned by resdesign in another post) that I need to change the following, which appears in the creation complete, in order to make loop happens, but I can't seem to get something that I try to work.

    {src: assetsPath + "mySound.mp3 | ' + assetsPath + 'mySound.ogg', id: 'mySound'},

Of course, I just might be wrong altogether; so as always, thoughts and ideas are very welcome x

    Hi Emmy,.

    1. can I use buzz to create sounds in compositions of edge for the ipad?

Yes. Although there are always the MASSIVELY boring question in which iOS insists on a user-push to activate the game of any audio device. Statement from Apple is that users shouldn't worry forced to download audio not requested which may eventually cost them if they are on a 3G connection paid; so they actually turned off anything that is, or could be described as a function of AutoPlay. This means that instead of being able to include automatic playback of the audio - to make, say, a soundtrack automatically start playing when the animation begins - reading of the said track rail must be user-initiated.

For example, the code: sym.getComposition (.getStage ()). YourSoundName.play (); would need to be placed on a clickable button as opposed to a trigger on the main timeline or timeline of the any of your symbols.

In essence, you will need to provide the user the opportunity to confirm that "yes I want to hear it.

While the feeling behind not wanting to only users of unjustified expenditure is understandable (and commendable) whole concept is a huge pain for animators and a total joke-killer and the best. Think about it regarding underwear man on Bananaskin... instead of users automatically perfectly be able to hear a comedian associated with "whoooooop" sound, they must click on a button to do it. 'You want to hear a funny noise associated with this bit of staging? Click here for Yes'. Obviously there is not actually such a question in reality couch, but you get the drift (The Death Of Fun!). As a 'semi' you can try experimenting with the triggers of mousing on invisible buttons.

    2. users will need internet access to hear sounds each time?  In other words the sounds do not have to be called from an external source every time they are played, or are part of the exported file and therefore only once downloaded.  (I understand that Ihave to manually register the audio file in the file exported from edge).

Not quite sure of it that I ended up working on completely different things; so don't continue Apple troubles long enough to learn more.

    3. can I use my own mp3 sounds and if so, how?

If you want to say, you can use the mp3s that have not appeared on you (i.e. iTunes titles etc) so basically not. Not unless they are free of copyright/rights or if you have obtained a license to use them.

If by your own mp3 sound you mean audio you have from yourself, then Yes, of course

It makes sense to produce an MP3 and ogg for each sound version, in order to ensure maximum compatibility with respect to the reading of the user. Other than that, just name your files, put them in a folder named "audio" (for example) and then, in 'CompositionReady' to Edge, add the following code for each sound (by changing the names accordingly):

    sym. YourSoundName = new buzz.sound ("audio/YourSoundName", {format: ["ogg", "mp3"]});

    sym. YourSoundName.bind ('loadeddata', Function {}

    var point = Edge.getComposition (compId) .getStage ();

    });

Then whenever you want to play a certain sound just use: sym.getComposition (.getStage ()). YourSoundName.play (); on a trigger.

    Hope this helps

  • There must be a better way to do this (frustration of RAM Preview)

I loaded one 01:20 second Full HD clip in sequels. I need to edit the video based on some sounds in the video and see if I match them correctly by the image previewed with the sound.

The problem is that I'm frustrated due to After effects does not not like first. First who thought it was a good idea is not to integrate sound in sequels? Secondly, I have an i7 processor sandy bridge, and 16 GB of ram, but he always takes time to render the preview ram (with still no effect on it).

Ram preview is my only option for sound, but the problem is every time I hit the ram preview it starts the video all the way from the beginning. It's frustrating because I want to start at a specific time. Imagine having a video more long where editing must take place at the end.

Professional projects of people out there doing a lot more complicated, you guys how to work around this problem?

Why can't after that effects do some basic things like first as make fast with the sound? Is it because of the Mercury engine and 64-bit?

It is one of the best products on the market, there must be a better way of doing things?

No need to preview RAM just to hear the sound, use the comma on the numeric keypad key to play an audio preview only.

If you want to mark certain audio events, twirl down the properties for the audio until you see the waveform and then use it to synchronize audio and animations.

And if you want RAM Preview from your current position, simply press the 'B' button to set your start of work area to the playhead, and then the RAM previews will begin from that point.

Use ctrl - drag to scrub audio & video. Use ctrl-alt-drag to scrub just audio.

AE has all the audio features of first (and), he just behaves in a different way.

  • audio distortion during RAM Preview

I worked the last 4 months on the same computer, working on similar animations, nothing changed a lot... so what's going on.

    * In the RAM Preview, my audio now resembles an overload robot.* *.

I can't find similar questions on internet to understand this myself so I ask in this forum. I have not changed anything important which could have changed my computer. I use:

    MacPro model end of 2013

    -with an SSD

    -32 GB RAM DDR3

    -3.7 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon E5

    -AMD over-pants D300 2048MB GPU

But I don't think that it is hardware

Old projects that I've worked before are trying to do the same thing. It was only during my RAM Preview. Simple audio preview sounds perfectly fine. There is nothing wrong with the audio file because others who worked before will not work now.

    Someone had the same problem?

I can't tell you what the problem was, but I found the reset for all my preferences, tried and it worked. It solved my problem, but I wish I could find the source because 2 months ago, I created my settings. I allocated more memory, changed a few settings, but not in the last two days that would have created the problem. So I was just puzzled. I would like to know what the hell this causes so I don't run into it yet.

  • RAM Preview plays all audio?

So I import a file audio, tried MP3 and wave and convert audio to keyframes, but when I saw RAM he himself stops a few seconds in. In this case, the audio clip is more than a minute long, but preview ram retains a loop a few seconds in. What gives?

READ the FAQ on the homepage of this forum or do a search. This is probably the question most common newbie we got here. Listen to audio you need to do a ram preview. The space bar does not have a ram preview. Use the Preview Panel or the 0 on the numeric keypad.

You have to start with the basics. AE is not a program, you can just launch and start using it. You must learn the basics first.
