AP div tags/positioning within a box/can ' t do?

* I drew a box container for my home page, in which I want to add an image and then freely put my interactive/rollover buttons or images within this area.  I the background... and the box... but Dreamweaver doesn't let me draw an apdiv tag in the box.  I can draw off the beaten path, but get a circle with a slash when trying to attract within the area.

I have a page www.bradmarsh.orgonline.  I created it by just placing the image and then the draw button boxes and placing them.  They are not placed against the inside of the box, so they move when I resize the browser.   Also... I might add... it's just a mock-up.

At this point, I still don't understand html, but I'm starting to understand a little.  If I can solve this little problem, I can wear to create my own website.

Help?

Thank you

  • positioning of the div tags

    Hello Dreamweavers

I practice using Div tags, and I added 2 boxes. My first thought was how can I have these boxes to be side by side. Have blue on the left and the right aqua area. So I did the box1_blue

and was inserted in the upper left corner. And then the box2_aqua has been placed under the blue. While I was playing around with the properties of the area the box2_aqua suddenly moved to the upper right corner, exactly where I wanted it to be, but I do not understand how it got there!

Although it is one absolute positioning like others, his behavior is dictated by its unique position in the code.

It's the only div outside the div container - which means its parent container is theTag, which means that it moves with the window of the browser.

It must be inside of the

who is positioned. Then, it will be constrained by the div container, not the body tag and moves compared to others the divs.

    Change

    3n1 logo

    TO

    3n1 logo

You will also need to adapt the left coordinate of the div logo to visually match the Interior of the container

    Something like

    {#logoimage}
    height: 198px;
    Width: 192px;
    position: absolute;
    left: 750px; / * adjust according to * /.
    top: 335px;

  • IE6 and IE7 do not like my position absolute DIV tag

I did some research on Google.  I made sure that the position of the envelope has been set at parent and I tried clearing offending left, right and two tanks of the div tag.

This is the header which gives me headaches. I could include it as part of the mainNav div if all else fails, but I hope there is a simple solution to this bug, I've not found in Google.

Everything I learned about web design I learned over the last month or two, so if you can keep this in mind, I would be grateful.

In RoboHelp you map to a Word template or simply by selecting a CSS?

I assume that you are by selecting a CSS and that the solution might be to map to a Word template, where you can map the. Note the style.

Mapping to take word longer to set up the first time, but once done, you may be easier to get the desired results.

  • Where is the box "Start a new line" when adding to a div tag?

Since I have updated Dreamweaver, when I add a div tag I don't see the box "Start A New Row. The checkbox only I see is "Insert as an element of fluid". This option has been deleted or has been moved to a new location?

    Screen Shot 2013-07-26 at 12.10.16 AM.png

    Hi MichaelMuirhead,

We have updated fluid grid 12.2 release of DW, as well as in CC version.

Unlike before, now DW intelligently recognizes when a fluid page is opened and the Structure category converts to the category fluid layout.

That is when it is inserted any item in the category of Structure on a fluid page, it will be inserted with light CSS to make it fluid, unless that other user tips.

The idea is to build support for almost all the structural elements as fluid elements, rather than just support Div as an element of fluid. Therefore, insert fluid Grid Layout tag Div has been removed.

Steps to insert a fluid element:

    1. Select Insert > layout.
    2. Select the item you want to insert. (that's to say Div or header or footer etc.) 3. in the dialog box that appears, enter a new class name, or enter a value for the code. The selected item is inserted on the page layout.

    (4) to insert a fluid normal/no item uncheck the box "Insert as a fluid element" check box in the previous dialog box.

Now to answer the second part of your concerns "the box"Start A New Row"missing."

All elements inserted on a fluid page, start on a new line by default. If the user wants to place the item in the previous row, then is possible by clicking on the button "Move up a line" who arrives on the FG HUD element, after the insertion of this element.

Please refer page to better understand.

For more details on the update browse to: http://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/using/fluid-grid-layout-dreamweaver .html

Here is the link to the new video on how to design a page of FG using new FG in paragraph 12.2 DW.

    http://blogs.Adobe.com/Dreamweaver/2013/02/updated-fluid-grids-in-Dreamweaver.html

Please note that the 'Layout' category in paragraph 12.2 has been renamed most appropriate sounding 'Structure' category in DW CC.

    It will be useful.

Please come back for questions or concerns.

    Thank you

  • Positioning of the nested div tags

I will have no chance to get three AP Div tags to align themselves as elements nested in my head.  There is plenty of room for the three items, and I "To prevent overlapping" disabled. 'Logo' is style to float left and 'headshot' float to the right, with "banner" in the Middle, but 'logo' or 'headshot' ends up down under the header as if they can't adapt.

    < div id = 'wrapper' >
    < div id = "header" >
< div id = "headshot" > content ID "headshot" goes here < / div >
< div id = "banner" > content for id "banner" goes here < / div >

  • Should I format type within the div tag?

I would like to know what is considered more acceptable:

    1. If I < p > in a < div > tag

(- a) I could specify placement type by specifying the padding in the < div > tag where I could specify the margins for the < p > in the < div > tag.

    (b) I could specify the type of formatting in the < p > < div > tag.

    Which would be better?

What is the preferred method in regard to < a > s in a < div > tag?

  • The alignment of the div tags/content

I have a div class = "wrapLinks" (unordered list) and a div class = "slider" (image carousel), and both are within the class = "content" div  At some point, "wrapLinks" were in the top left of the content.  After you create the div class is 'slider', the 'wrapLinks' have been 'pushed' down under the "cursor" that comes from taking up space at the top left of the content.  Ideally, I want the two (aligned horizontally) inline with eachother. First, I tried to change the margin for both classes of div in the css, but that doesn't seem to work.  I then tried to add "float: left;" to the "wrapLinks" and "float: right;" for the "cursor" in the css, but that also does not work.  I also try to put a button on the cursor.  I think that's what we call a 'floating div tag", but not sure.  I feel that I write the CSS properly for each class of div.

Any ideas on what I can / should I do?

I have provided a reference image.

  • Problem with the AP div tags... Help, please!

I am very new to web design, and I learn a LOT here!

So I created a Web site and did the layout with the AP div tags, not knowing exactly what they were, but at the point where they seem to give me the results I wanted...

Now after all download and realize that it does not the way I expected, and did some research more than I understand they are the divs "absolute positioning", which is why most of my images and text don't stay centered with the main box when I view the page in a browser.

Rather than repeat everything, I found this another option during a search: wrapping all AP divs in another that has the right properties (related lines of position and auto). I tried on a test page and it worked, but I tried exactly the same with one of my models and it does not work.

Basically, I added a < div id = 'name here' > just below the < body > tag

    and then a < / div > just above of the < / body > tag

then he gave a new style CSS (position: relative and margin: auto)

Is someone can you please tell me why it does not work on my models? Or if you have a better solution to ensure that everything remains focused on my pages, I am totally open.

(Please keep in mind, I know very little coding)

    Is my website: http://blissfullyeverafter.org/

    Thanks in advance!

    Basically, I added a

    just below of thetag

    and then a

    just above the tag

then he gave a new style CSS (position: relative and margin: auto)

A div tag is a block tag.  Tags block fill the width of their container.  Without attributing this div a width explicitly, it will extend from the left margin of the viewport to the right margin.  You can't focus such a tag!   The solution is to assign it a width.  Then the car to the left and right margins will kick in and cause its Center as you wish.

  • CSS, div and the AP div tags.

Hi guys, I am building a Web page using a trial version of dreamweaver and I have a few problems with the formatting and CSS.

I'm trying to build a gallery of thumbnails and managed to pretend grand in design mode, by using the 'class' selector (sorry for my terminology if it is false), by placing the thumbnails in an AP div and using the field "box" to set appropriate margins.

But when the preview in internet explore, the images appear up against the div 'container', I said, even if that puts them outside the ap Div they are contained in.

I found a 'solution' - to position elements in design mode so that they display correctly in internet explorer, even if it meant that the left most miniature has a border of 100 instead of 50.

But to complicate things more, this Setup program incorrectly displayed in Safari and Firefox. (The images appear on the far right, but at least identical in both programs).

I also tried to use regular divs and no divs, with similar problems. In fact, often the elements (including text) position I do not appear as they should.

Can someone tell me what is happening and how to fix?

    Thanks in advance.

I replied to your post of corss "vignettes of positioning" and suggested that you use a table to do this, since
a table is the best and easiest to create a grid, which is what you want.
If you don't want to use a table, learn CSS and use AP div tags.
Divs are not a viable solution for your problem and are almost never a good idea, although they
are often used by beginners because PA divs can be moved and positioned where you want
the design view. Ease of use is an illusion and creates unexpected problems you encounter.

  • Help, I'm controlling a flashing, sending him a value true or false within a box structure.

Help, I'm controlling a flashing, sending him a value true or false within a box structure. The LED changed to resemble a specific indicator, so I can't just create a property node for LED and the value that flashes (unless someone can tell me how). I can see a number of ways to put my blinker indicator changed positions, but they all use while loops. What I am struggling with is controlling the while loop using a Boolean true or false.

What I try to achieve is to create a virtual car dashboard and control using serial data. I built a VI as follows 3 bytes from the serial port and the data that I send to the VI will be in the form of a letter followed by 2 numbers. I uses the letter to settle the case structure then change numbers to different cases selected by the letter.

I compare then 2 numbers and according to the ASCII values, I'm a true or false for the comparison.

So once I set the indicator flashes, I need that it continues to Flash until he gets another command to stop.

    Hello

Im trying to create a website portfolio for me but I'm having trouble with the selection of some div tags, I added to my page.

It allows me to add a rollover image to which is what I try to do with home' 'info' and 'contact' buttons shown above right. However when I click on or around the div tags that hold these buttons I can't "select" them so that the blue box appears around the edge and therefore impossible to add the rollover image.

I normally work in the design window that I've not been taught in the coding

You will learn about code regardless if you make the effort. Start with these links:

    http://w3schools.com/

    http://www.csstutorial.NET/

DW assumes that you have knowledge of HTML & CSS code.

If you cannot or will not work with the code, you use the wrong tool.

For the non-codeurs, Adobe offers 2 other options: Adobe Muse & portfolio
