Apex spend 3.2 to 4.0 in Oracle 10 g Enterprise Edition

Hi friends,

I am currently using Apex version 3.2.1. My version of oracle is 'Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0'.

I plan to upgrade my version of apex 4.0. I can do this with the same version of oracle DB. Are there any specific

necessary for such an upgrade license?

Kind regards

NAV

I can do this with the same version of oracle DB.

Yes. 10.2.0.4.0 meet the documented requirements.

Is there a specific permit required for such an upgrade?

No, no, if the database is allowed. (Additional licenses may be required for some web server configurations).

    How to actually do this? I downloaded the 3.1.2 full package of RTO, but the documentation is not too clear on that. I have access Metalink, do I have to download a patch from there?

    Hi Matthias,

    You can apply the full version that you downloaded from OTN. No need to patch.

  • Popup of XDB in URL APEX login

    Hello

    I just finished installing Oracle APEX (I use Oracle 11 g Enterprise Edition and APEX 4.02) I uninstalled the pre-existing version of APEX 3.2 and installed the 4.20, and when I try to connect to the main admin page to:

     http://HOST:PORT/apex

    I get the annoying XDB login popup.

    Concerning

    Villi Kumar

    Hello

    While asking the password and username XDB, we provided as XDB/XDB and unlocked the XDB account in the backend database.

    After giving it details its has shown the cannot find server /apex

    We fixed two issues by using the script below.

    Solution:

    Done with the "apexins", run the script that is located in the directory of the apex below.

    @apex_epg_config.sql [_Directory you unzip Apex_]

    We now able to access the URL of request without any popup XDB.

    No LOAD is not equal to VALID. But that your installation has failed during APEX components in DBMS_REGISTRY, following the validation should be the course of action:

    • Apply the Group of hotfixes mentioned above (in the blog article) or upgrade the database to 11.2.
    • Revalidate components APEX by connecting to the SYS user with SYSDBA privilege and running apexvalidate.sql of the apex installation folder.
    • Re-check the validity of the installation of the APEX, as mentioned above. If it returns VALID, then you can move forward with the next steps (in the installation of the APEX).

    I hope this helps!

  • Getting started with APEX after download

    I have Oracle 11 g Enterprise Edition 64-bit 11.2 loaded on office home, it works very well, see screenshot 2.

    I downloaded APEX and extract all the files. Now what?

    On the start page, the first step is to "Get workspace", who tells

    a. Download Oracle XE 11g (but what EE 11g should work, right?)

    b. download the last APEX (fact, see 2nd screenshot)

    c. follow the instructions, which brings back me to the page to get started...

    "So I went to step 2 - learn more about request Express, and one thing he says is" ","Oracle Application Express installs as part of seeds of Oracle Database 11 g database installation "

    I'm also went to Oracle Learning Library for APEX, but still a little confused about how to activate this thing.

    Possibly you chose not to include during the 11 g installation process. If it has been installed it would be a version that is now obsolete, so a clean install or upgrade to 4.2 is recommended.

    Download the Setup Guide on the APEX documentation site. The PL/SQL gateway embedded web server option will be sufficient for personal training, so follow this trail through the installation guide.

    Once installed, see the day 2 + Developer's Guide and the online resources on the page start to start the development.

    Do you want to say that you do not want any tab is selected when the page shows up first?  interesting.

    You do not want to remove these classes from the tab: ui-tabs-selected and ui-State-active.

    Maybe with the code like this.

    $("li.ui-state-active").removeClass ("ui-tabs-selected ui-State-active");

    And you will need to hide the content area by adding "ui-tabs-hide".

    This probably better by targeting only the region that needs to be hidden by building its id with this syntax #REGION_STATIC_ID#-tab-#SUB_REGION_ID# .

    $("jqtabs-tab-subTabID").addClass ("ui-tabs-hide");

    Or if you don't know that, then their target with one class, they all get as ui-tabs-Panel

        P_SESSION_ID  => v('APP_SESSION'),

    If I give the ebs username and pwd means, do not connect until it is showing invalid credentials.

    Can someone help me in this.

    Maybe your answer can be found here:
    FND_WEB_SEC. Validate_Login does not

    It could be the safe use of fnd_web_sec.

    You get also the result of apps.fnd_message.get to determine why authentication fails.

  • directly upgrade APEX 4.1.0.00.32 in 4.2 without Patch Set 4.1.1.00.23

    Hello

    One of my APEX engine is still under the 4.1.0.00.32 version - all others were already updated with the Patch Set 4.1.1.00.23. I wonder if, for the engine APEX with the version 4.1.0.00.32 (without the patch), can I put it directly in the APEX 4.2.0.00.27?

    My version of the database is:
    Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.1.0.6.0

    Thank you.

    Hello

    According to the documentation, it should be no problem.

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E37097_01/doc/install.42/e35123/overview.htm#CEGEFBFI

    The reason is that the upgrade you mentioned was an update which has improved the installed version. Ranging from 4.1 or a version earlier than 4.2, in its name one updated, in effect installs a new version of the Apex base objects and then copy spaces of existing work and applications for this installation. Apart from what gives a clean installation, this also has the advantage of maintaining the old environment if you have to downgrade. See
