App messages cannot display messages

My Messages app on my MacBook Air suddenly stopped showing new messages. Old conversations show, but they have not been updated since a week ago.

When I receive a new message, the "new message" icon appears to the left of the dock, but the message shows ever as a conversation in the app.

The version of Messages is 9.2 and OS is 10.11.4, but this problem started with 10.11.3.

I tried to delete the files com.apple.imessages.bag.plist and com.apple.ids.service.com.apple.madrid.plist in ~/Library/preferences, but this did not help.

These are recreated as new files after reboot. However, the same problem persists even with fresh DB files.

Also, the new messages indicated by the 'new message' icon don't appear under ~/Library/Messages / Archive.

    Method 1: See if you can view another Web page

  • For the last 24 hours, whenever I try to access the Forums from McAfee site, get message, "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage."

    I was an active member of this forum for more than a year and was just on the site yesterday.  Yet, for some reason, today, I can not access the site.  I tried clicking on a search link, manually type in the name of the site... nothing works.  All I ever get is the message "Internet Explorer cannot display this webpage";  no error codes... no nothing!

    I have no trouble access to other sites with the exception of the McAfee site.  I know that the site is running.

    UPDATE: for some strange reason, now all of a sudden I can again access McAfee Forum site this morning.  Still have no idea what happened here, but at least that the problem is now solved... I hope!
