• The segmented control background

  I have a segmented control of 3 segments, with fairly long titles in each. Since segmented control does not allow the formatting of the title, I decided to try to work around this deficiency and insert a background image of control (using the DispositionAbsolue with Imageview container for the background and SegmentedControl) containing the titles with a smaller font and let control titles in white. It works, kind of:

  When I do this, the control segmented for some reason any decides to go beyond the width of the container and it clips to the right. Expand the control tabs, and only half of the last tab is displayed.

  I tried to force the width of 568 on a container, as well as two controls that it contains, but not luck. Why is this happening?

  Thank you. I've known for a clean and simple solution that works perfectly: I wrapped the control segmented into its own container on which I forced the width. Here is the code:

  Here, the SegCtrlBackground.png is 568 pixels wide, containing a rectangle control background slightly more small rounded corners that fits perfectly behind the segmented control.   I managed to make it work when the value is selected with the help of dynamic action with a bit of JQuery and JavaScript by setting the ID on the selection list to 'create' and have the following in JavaScript $(this.triggeringElement) .val ()! = 1 in the JavaScript for dynamic action condition shows it or hides the region of 'create' and that works well.

  However, if the secondary table is empty before the detail records were created (nothing selected in triggering jQuery Selector) the region of create is displayed when I don't want it.

  I guess I need some sort of NVL in JavaScript condition?

  I use APEX v4.2.

  Any advice would be appreciated.

  Simple solution is to hide the region containing the element of text by default, using the style = "" view: no ' in the property of the attributes of the area in the region. " It will be always hidden when the page initially, but its visibility will be controlled by the DA subsequently.

  I just rebuilt my XP SP3 desktop from scratch, so it's a pretty lean, clean machine right now (have all relocated apps yet). Updates are ongoing as of early this am.

  I installed FF v9.0.1 and free Zonealarm 10.1.079.000, who I thought were supposed to be compatible. However, when I try to add FF to the list of Application control settings, weirdness follows. I can add it, I can configure it... and then when I get back a few moments later, Firefox is no longer in the list of applications. Repeatedly, he disappears. • To change the data type of control/led

  Is it possible to change the underlying data type of the indicator or a control?  I a VI that I want to use that accepts any type of data (essentially data varriant) and display it accordingly.  I have different controls selected to display data of different types in the sense of data vs decimal boolean data vs integer, but certain types of data will be of type uint32 vs int16 vs uint64 etc..  Is it possible to programmatically change the data type, so I need to have all the combinations of indicators?

  The short answer is no. The long answer is that LabVIEW has not 'generic' controls that allow you to display any type of data (apart from the variant of course). There are several ways to address this problem, but all require you as the programmer to manage explicitly each type of data you could possibly meet. Here are some possibilities (in no particular order), please let me know if you would like to help a particular implementation of these.

  1. Force incoming data to variant, use the info option to determine the data type of the original data in a case structure (open G can do this VERY easy), have an indicator on the front panel for each type of data you want and hide those unused
  2. Use a sub-group of experts on the front panel and sub - vi call of to view specific types (that lends itself very well to encapsulate your data in a class and you leave OOP allows to expand into different types of data)
  3. Use a tab with the variant (similar to option 1) control put each kind of data in its own tab, enable only the current
  4. Do a Control-X to accept a Variant option 1 under the hood
  5. Just as a string of format and use a string indicator
