Apple extreme wiring to the quantum gateway FIOS router diagram

Try to set up a roaming network with my Apple Extreme to a quantum gateway FIOS router.  I think what he WAN port s Quantum gateway to the Airport Extreme Lan port.  Or a quantum gateway FIOS to the port WAN Airport Extreme Lan port.  Trying to set up the Airport extreme to extend my wifi and lan.

I use a Mac Pro OS is El capitan.

Assuming that the AirPort Extreme has default settings at this point.

Connect an Ethernet cable from one of the LAN ports <>- the bridge of Fios (there are probably 4 LAN ports, choose one you want) on the WAN port on the AirPort Extreme "O".

Apple installation "wizard" will offer the correct type of installation. To get the wizard and running, click on the WiFi icon at the top of the screen of the Mac and are looking for a list of Base Station new AriPort. Just below this list, click on AirPort Extreme

The wizard will take a few seconds to analyze things, and then see a screen that looks like this, except that you will see your AirPort Extreme in the photo.

For the name of the network... Enter the exact same wireless network that provides the gateway FIos

Base Station name... Enter a short and simple name that you want to call the AirPort Extreme

Password... Enter the same exact word of wireless network that uses the Fios bridge

To check... Enter the password to confirm

Click next

The wizard will set up everything for you. When you see the message installation is complete after a minute or two, click done and you're done.

I have Cisco 3750 G with IOS k9 - mz.150 - 2.SE4 Service of intellectual property. In my network, I have 4 VLANs with 4 internet gateways. I have set 4 static route for each gateways and with PBR to match this static routes. If I use "set ip next-hop" all traffic goes through the specific gateway interVlan routing does not work (I need to because the customers interVlan routing in different VLANS must be), and if I use 'set ip default next-hop', I was incapable of it attributed to Vlan (road-map lan14 not supported based on routing strategies).

Model SDM is on the road that ip Routing is enabled.

Here is my config for 2 of these VLANS:

Please help me, I'm stuck here almost three weeks.

    Hello

You have created courses 2-card to set the next hop for a portion of the traffic classified with an acl.

If you want any other traffic manager you must create an empty instance of your roadmap

    Example:

    lan7 allowed 10 route map

    football game...

map of route allowed lan7 20 ==> Add this instance and leave it empty. You say the switch/router that he must refrain from other traffic but nothing to apply.

    Hope that this clear.

  • Apple Extreme, Time Capsule and Express on the same system, what is the best way to set it up so that all devices smoothly from one end of the House to another?

Apple Extreme, Time Capsule and Express on the same system, what is the best way to set it up so that all devices smoothly from one end of the House to another?

I'm going to assume that you plan to have wireless devices.

Let's say that the Capsule is your "main" router  If this is the case, then it must be located in the House, so that the distance between the time Capsule is the same for the outside walls of the House.

Then, on the 'left' side of the House, looking for an airport to midway between the Capsule and time of the outer wall of the House. Do the same thing the 'right' side of the House.

In other words, each of the two airports that "extend" the wireless signal are located at equal distance from the Capsule of time... but they are in opposite ends of the House.

If you intend to interconnect all the airports and Time Capsule using a permanent, Ethernet wired... which by far is the 'best' way to put in place a network in terms of performance and reliability... then you can locate one of the devices anywhere you want.

  • How can I using an apple extreme get a better signal around the House?

How can I using an old apple extreme get a better signal around the House?

I use an old apple express and a new express from apple.

I need to update my extreme from apple for the last device namely a time capsule.

Can I use my apple extreme connected to my new camera add more points around the House?

What is the model number of the old AirPort Extreme?

What is the model number of the old AirPort Express Terminal?

We assume that the model number of the new AirPort Express Terminal is A1392, correct?

What connects to what now on your network?  It looks like this?

Internet connection > Modem > new AirPort Express?   How the old Express connects to the new Express?   Cable?  Wireless?

    Hello

You can enable the detection of wrist as well as an access code and unlock it with the iPhone:

    • On your iPhone, in the application of the watch, go to: My Watch (low left tab) > General > wrist Detection - this turns on.
    • On your iPhone, in the application of the watch, go to: Watch My > Passcode > Passcode turn on (choose a Simple 4 digit access code or a longer).
      • Also in the password settings screen, select Unlock with iPhone.

After putting on your wrist, your watch don't unlock then after whatever you do first: unlock your watch manually or unlock your iPhone. Then, it will remain unlocked until you delete the monitoring of your wrist, when that it locks automatically.

You can also set your watch to the screen to reactivate automatically when you lift your wrist, even select what is displayed on the screen to wake up:

    • On your iPhone, in the application of the watch, go to: Watch My > General > screen Wake:
      • Active screen Wake on revival of wrist, and;
      • Choose if the watch should resume last activity or see the Face of the watch.
  • Support optimization WIFI at home: AE Verizon Quantum Gateway

Hi, Im trying to install a monitoring system which will be installed in the living room. Currently I have my express airport connected via wifi, its redundant and inefficient for devices connected ethernet & airplay. So that I could play with this system I want to be sure before we drill holes through brick walls and buy a lot of cable. I intend to try with short cables prior to installation. Thanks in advance for the help.

My main question is how can I optimize the configuration. I intend to move the extreme from the airport to the living room and pass a thread of outdoor cat 6 (see dotted line) to the living room, another in the basement (with an airport express).

    1. can I use the wan port gigabit on the router on port wan on the extreme? or do I have to use the LAN ports, which limit the speed to 100mbs.

    2. what parameters the extreme must be set to.

    3. can I run ethernet cable from the router Verizon to Airport express and still have the network under a parasol in airport utility (i.e. having airplay on the speakers of the express). or do I have to switch the extreme ethernet cables to the express.

4 should. what settings I change my express? (currently its to expand the wifi network)

Here is a picture of the ground floor. I also have a basement that has a 3rd generation of apple tv and airplay for the gym. My plan, if I am able to release of the express from the living room to use it in the basement to extend the signal via ethernet.

2 MC414LL/A express airport base station

    Airport extreme ME177LL/A

router: Verizon fios wireless broadcasting quantum gateway is turned off.

The devices connected to my home network are

WiFi - 2 smart cams x samsung, zeppelin B & W, thermostat to nest and protect nest of x 3. Smart TV Apple TV x 2 gen 4, apple tv 3rd generation

Ethernet-Pioneer vsx90 receiver. iMac (Headquarters), the system of security provided.

mobile WiFi: iphonesx2, iPad 2 & mini 2, macbook pro,

    1. can I use the wan port gigabit on the router on port wan on the extreme? or do I have to use the LAN ports, which limit the speed to 100mbs.

On the Time Capsule Ethernet ports are all 1 Gbps ones. Unfortunately, the Express are only 100 Mbit/s. The connection between the router and the extreme should be 1 Gbit/s. In turn, the attached devices to the extreme have the potential to be at 1 Gbps.

    2. what parameters the extreme must be set to.

Both the extreme and the router must be configured for a mobile network. In this type of network, each wireless router will broadcast its own Wi - Fi network, but each network will use the same network (SSID, aka) name and use the same type of wireless security & the password. You have then the possibility to connect either or both express base stations by wire or wireless network.

    3. can I run ethernet cable from the router Verizon to Airport express and still have the network under a parasol in airport utility (i.e. having airplay on the speakers of the express). or do I have to switch the extreme ethernet cables to the express.

Yes, in a mobile network. You want all the base stations connected to the Verizon router in this mode.

4 should. what settings I change my express? (currently its to expand the wifi network)

That depends on your goal with Express base stations. By your excellent diagram, you can only use it for streaming. In this case they would just set up to join the roaming wireless network.

Another thing. Before drilling holes, you can consider using Powerline adapters instead. These take advantage of the circuit of electrical wiring of your existing home to create the pseudo Ethernet those. In your case, you would need a minimum of two of these cards. One at the location of the Verizon router and another to the new location of the extreme in the living room. In turn, you would connect a heel Ethernet cable between the router / extreme and the adapter. No need for holes. These adapter came along the way in performance.

  • I want to use a Terminal Airport Express to extend network provided by my Fios router/modem without going through another airport base.  Is there a way to do this?  I understand that Apple does not support this, but surely there must be a way to do this.

Can someone tell me how to set up an Airport Express Terminal to expand Network provided by my Fios router/modem without going through an airport as a base?  I understand that apple does not support this use, but my applecare Advisor said it's possible.  Thank you!

Unfortunately, your AppleCare Advisor is wrong if he or she has told you that an AirPort Express to extend wireless signal of a Fios router/modem.

Function of "Extend a wireless network" Apple is an exclusive feature that was designed by Apple engineers to extend the signal from another wireless only router from Apple. Thus, the AirPort Express... or any other router Apple besides... would not be able to extend wireless a Fios network.

SO... you have the possibility to locate the Airport Express where it is needed... And... Connect it to the Fios router/modem with a permanent, wired Ethernet cable connection, then the AirPort Express can 'extend' in this way.

Or... If you are ready to add a second AirPort Express, connect the first near Fios modem/router with an Ethernet cable, then the second Airport Express could extend the signal first Express wireless.

Another way to say the same thing, is that if you want an Apple AirPort router to extend wireless network... then you need two Apple routers to achieve this goal.

  • Home Networking issue - Apple Extreme + 2 airports of Apple

I was wondering if there was nothing to do with my current setup or if I expanded my efforts wireless...

This is the current situation. Internet broadband from Time Warner. I've reconfigured the Arris modem to act as the router and set up my Airport Extreme as the modem. Cable broadband wired in Arris - ethernet in Airport Extreme. Running Mac OS on everything.

Airport Extreme radio 2.4 ghz to Airport Express in a room in the corridor (defined on the extension of the network). (All THE LATEST MODELS of AIRPORT EXTREME & EXPRESS)

2nd Airport express in the bedroom (network extension) - Apple TV connected to wireless.

It would be a bit of a pain to wire all of the way in which the provision is. I live in an apartment in Brooklyn, so there is a lot of interference. I configured everything for the best channels possible & DNS settings.

In the living room, I have to get + 115 MB/s - and barely sufficient in the bedroom to disseminate the Apple TV. Some days are better than others, but I would really like to try for more consistency.

I guess my question is I've done everything I can do to maximize the speed (without wiring or have internet installed in the back-end of the apartment).

Is there anything else I can do?  Here is a picture of the configuration. Thank you.

Assuming that the diagram on the left is about geometrically exact, the AirPort Express to the show probably is not much other than contributing to wireless interference which is almost certainly make life miserable for you. AirPort Express 2 has to communicate wirelessly with AirPort Extreme, as shown in the diagram of the AirPort Utility, but it is still further than what is Airport Express 1. Apple TV can connect to, or not, but its location relative to the extreme, is a reliable streaming challenge.

Try moving 1 Express airport closest to the extreme, or position the extreme in a more central location. Ideally, the extreme should be in 1 room and 1 Express should be in the living room, creating a network topology more closely to what is stated in the form of AirPort Utility.

Since you will need a cable between it and the modem which does essentially the same thing as the extreme and Express 1 with Ethernet cable anyway, and it's the only solution, you are likely to find acceptable. A network 'Wireless' is always a study of compromise. Video streaming is gourmet in-band bandwidth and intolerant to the interference. As much as you don't want to install one, a cable network is the solution to this problem.

I configured everything to the best possible channels .

Leave them all on "automatic". Try to manually force selection of the channel to be relatively "quiet" ones is a futile exercise because everybody does the same thing. "Automatic" frequency agility allows the specified channel to become unusable.

  • Airport extreme disconnects when the ivp6

Airport extreme disconnects when the ivp6 but works perfectly with disconnected ivp6. I use Cox Cable as my internet provider.

Apple says that Cox has not fully being implemented IPv6 yet.

Cox said on their website that the Apple routers are not compatible with their IPv6 service.

It is difficult to know who is right, but IPv6 works very well with Comcast and Time Warner... and routers Apple worked very well with Cox, until Cox began to make changes to their systems.

  • All my Apple Extreme routers must be 802.11ac to get speeds of ac?

I think to replace all of our Apple upgrade routers to ac 802.11. I read somewhere that all routers, or even worse of all customers, must be compatible ac or the network will not work at speeds of HQ. Can anyone clear this up for me?

Any other questions, I should consider to optimize the performance of ac in a home network that has 4 Apple extreme, connected between them to cover a bigger house?  Thank you.

A network works at the speed of the slower part, then Yes. all routers must be AC so that the network to operate at the speed of AC.

If you want high performance connect everything with wires.

If it worked before wiping the disc, then it is likely, you are missing a player specific to material not included in WIndows XP.  Log on to the gateway website and download the drivers for the chipset and network.  Naturally, you will need to use a wired network connection.

In general, Gateway provides the drivers specific to the hardware on a recovery of the system partition, and they also provide a tool so you can burn data on CD/DVD restore.  Do you stil have this partition or did you remove it?

Every time I buy a PC, I always download copies of the material of the web site of the vendor-specific drivers and keep them on a flash drive, so that they are available when I wipe a PC and reinstall.  I also do the recovery partition recovery disks.
