  I don't know which driver you tried to install, but for USB, you will not find any driver. For the use of the USB ports, you will need to install the Chipset driver.

  Sorry, but it's really not easy to say what the problem is here. If you have a recovery CD try to make the new installation of the OS. If this is insufficient, it may be hardware problem.

  Thanks for posting. If a German version of XP is currently loaded on the system, and you want English, you will need to buy an English version of XP and install it on the system.
