Apple software updates show on my computer at startup

original title: UPDATES

I have Windows Vista installed on my PC. When I start to "Apple software update" message is displayed. Should I install?

Hi LarryPalcovic,

It would depend on the update that seeks to be installed. If this is for ITunes and you are actively using the program (or intent in the future), it would be a good idea to install the update. This also applies to QuickTime.

It depends on if you plan to use the software or not. Also if you can answer Eddieb - of issues, it would be useful.

  • A later version of the Apple software update is already installed on this computer.

Recently, I had a new iPhone 5, so I had saved my old iPhone 4 with iTunes so I could transfer all my information. But when I connected my iPhone 5 it came with this message: "the"Rachel's IPhone"iPhone cannot be used because it requires a newer version of iTunes. Go to www.itunes.come to download the latest version of iTunes. " The iPhone 5 is iOS9.2

So, I went on the website to download iTunes, since this was the 12.1.2 version and should be downloaded 12.3.2, went to do the implementation, then it came with the message: "a later version of the Apple software update is already installed on this computer." So, I tried to uninstall it (after each step on the Apple Support to do) but when I went back to uninstall all apple programs, I could not find "Apple Software Update", it wasn't in my programs...

I did all the steps anyway, and the same message of "a later version of the Apple software update is already installed on this computer." came after I tried to reinstall iTunes.

So, I guess my overall question is, what should I do? How can I fix?
    Please answer quickly.

Try to repair the Apple Software Update of the programs and features Panel, remove it and then reinstall iTunes.

  • Can not uninstall, repair, or get rid of Apple Software Update

    Dear friends,

I tried to install iTunes on my computer for the last 3 hours and I had no breakthrough! First of all, there was an error under the title "there is a problem with this Windows Installer package... ». So I deleted all of the apple software, but could not remove or change Apple Software Update. So with assistance from registry and app cleaners cleaners all removed every trace of him and he does not appear in programs and features in my control panel 10 more, but when I use "Microsoft program install and uninstall Troubleshooter" he is still there, but even this powerful cleaner can not do something with it, delete or change. I tried to install the iTunes again, but now I get the message: 'There is a newer version of software update already installed Apple', which is totally ridiculous, because I am trying to install the latest version of iTunes and the USS already there can not have a newer version! I have no idea what to do next any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Make sure that you AV or firewall does not block it.

Try clicking on the install RMB and selecting 'run as Admin '.

  • The Apple software update will not install updates

Each time the Apple software application to be updated by Apple Software Update, the error in the picture below opens and I get it over with to have to do a manual reinstall.  Here, the image shows the most recent upgrade to iCloud and iTunes, but I also got QuickTime are doing the same thing.  It would seem that each manual installation to reinstall a new copy of the GSS, but he keeps having the same problems. Please help diagnose this problem.  The "Download only" option in the window pop up works, but it would be nice for ASU than him.

An update of the software is pretty useless if it is not updated of software.

I suspect that all is not well with your copy of the GSS. You can try to fix it, but I suspect a complete tear down and reinstallation of any software Apple will be needed.

I get the very annoying error message on the update to the latest version of iTunes on my computer Ultimate de Windows 7 32 bit 12.3.3.17. "The Apple software update server could not be found. Check your Internet settings and try again. "My program of the Apple software update is 2.2.  I tried a repair it and iTunes without result. Any suggestions?

It seems to be widespread. USS worked for me and even used to update iTunes earlier this week, it still worked after that. But this morning the error appears when you try to ASU on all our machines. The reason that it seems that the latest version of iTunes is to blame is I think as part of its installation is ASU updated to the latest version, after which the server problem. I contacted the support apple via Twitter, maybe that others should do the same to add weight to the issue. what I've read, it seems that a server AKMAI problem is to blame. Hope that this problem is fixed soon.

My laptop computer that runs Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

I read the other threads on this problem and tried Windows updates and restarting my PC. I had iTunes installed, but uninstalled it months ago. If I had installed iTunes, I would try the method here: Remove and reinstall iTunes and the components of the software for Windows 7 and later versions - Apple Support .

I don't want Windows 10 and goes through other threads, upgrade to would not necessarily solve this problem.

Having received no response, I uninstalled all Apple software and then installed QuickTime, which I use occasionally. The Apple software update is back to version 2.1.3.

I rebooted my machine, fixed the application through the Control Panel, check the firewall settings and it off all together, but nothing helps. Could not find anywhere on the apple software download site as to where I can re - download / install either, or I which would have given it a go.

Someone at - it suggestions how I can solve this problem? It's really annoying!

Here are a few things you should try:

    2. restart your computer

    3. update to Windows 10

4 remove iTunes (or any software you are trying to update) and then reinstall it from the iTunes Web site

  • Cannot install itunes. Older version of apple software update is a ghost file.

I had itunes on our laptop a few years ago and uninstalled through the normal route of the program uninstall Windows 7 a few years back.  Now I am trying to reinstall itunes and it comes up with the error "failed to remove the older version of Apple software update Contact your technical support group. "When I go in uninstall programs it shows"Apple Software Update"but when I click on uninstall, it says:"the configuration data for this product are damaged. Please contact the support staff. "When I search the file it's no-do. It is a ghost file.  Deleted, but still think it's there.  I tried to run "from the mistakes of audit" on the disc. I tried using Unlocker that does not show the program, says it removed and it is in the trash but still the same error. I contacted Microsoft and she ran at a command prompt to check for problems, (I do not remember the guest, she used) but also, it does not work.  How can I get rid of this ghost file?

There are two former programs that show in uninstall program - one is called Apple Application Support and the other is updated to Apple, both installed software on 31/03/2012.

For general advice, see troubleshooting problems with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps described in the second case are a guide to remove everything related to iTunes and then rebuild what is often a good starting point, unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.

Try the tool MS difficulty under the second box to see if that can see and remove ASU. Otherwise, delete all other components and install everything except ASU proceeding to install missing components. iTunes didn't need ASU to work.

Review the other boxes and other support documents list to the bottom of the page, in case one of them applies.

  • Apple Software Update

I bought my computer in a computer store, but I did not know that any Apple software has been installed until the Apple update popup appeared.

I changed the update preferences in update Apple software on the 'Never' and click on 'Leave' for the pop-up will no longer appear.

I checked Add/Remove programs and "Apple Application Support 32-bit," "Apple Application Support 64-bit," Apple Mobile Device Support, "and"Apple Software Update"are pre-installed-can they be uninstalled or they be left there?" "

It is something you should ask Apple.  Not only we only support MS hardware and software, but we know very little about apples.
