  So, I guess my overall question is, what should I do? How can I fix?

  Try to repair the Apple Software Update of the programs and features Panel, remove it and then reinstall iTunes.

  Make sure that you AV or firewall does not block it.

  Try clicking on the install RMB and selecting 'run as Admin '.

  If it does not create a new admin account in windows and login to this account.

But this morning the error appears when you try to ASU on all our machines. The reason that it seems that the latest version of iTunes is to blame is I think as part of its installation is ASU updated to the latest version, after which the server problem.   Here are a few things you should try:

  1. update your computer

  2. restart your computer

  3. update to Windows 10

  4 remove iTunes (or any software you are trying to update) and then reinstall it from the iTunes Web site

  There are two former programs that show in uninstall program - one is called Apple Application Support and the other is updated to Apple, both installed software on 31/03/2012.

  Try the tool MS difficulty under the second box to see if that can see and remove ASU. Otherwise, delete all other components and install everything except ASU proceeding to install missing components. iTunes didn't need ASU to work.
