Application of effects to the text in Captivate 8
Hello
I'm doing a simple fade on a text caption using the Alpha effect. However, when I select 'apply the effect' in 'On the Action' in the properties of the slide, it does not appear in the slide. In fact, I see a little "jump" or a small problem with the screen to a point that I presume is the time at which the effect should occur, but nothing else. I don't know if I approach it correctly. I have a text caption with the caption container advanced effect. I tried a lot of things without success. Anyone with a solution or advice?
Thank you!
You can probably get the desired effect by having three text boxes. The set-top box with full color and melted output to display the second text box with the lightest color. The third area appear to any desired number of seconds after the second box then displays the time. You need to increase your time to slide, too.

Apply effects to the text block and not the text
I am trying to apply a shadow to a text block, but he keeps applied the effect of text rather than the text block. I click on the text block, and then effects and shadow and object is selected in the 'Settings For' drop-down box. However, he maintained the application of the shadow to the text, rather than to the text block. I am doing this wrong, or is there something else I need to do?
I use CS4 on Windows Vista.
Thank you!

How do you add outer glow effect to the text into 12 elements?
I created a layer in 12 items with text. I want to add an outer glow effect.
That's what I do:
1. Select the layer with the text
2. click the FX button at the bottom of the screen
3 click the Styles tab
4. Select Outer Glow of drop down
5. I can see 11 predefined option. The only one that works is called 'Fire' and it's not the style I'm looking for. I want a simple contour, but none of the other presets have no effect.
Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

Try the outer glow #4 > Simple. Apply.
Now on the text in the layers palette layer there is an f on the right. Double-click the f
This opens the Style dialog box. At the bottom, check "Stroke" and adjust with the sliders accordingly.

How can I replicate this TV analog warping effect on the text?
I tried to use the deformation of the puppet, but the creation of additional points seems to give no natural curves "kinks" that do not correspond to the effect that I am trying to achieve.
I also see a kind of duplicate the effect happening, with a second "blackout" that kind of fate from the top, but I'm less worried about it. I was wondering how to get this kind of deformation. Can anyone help?
It is feasible, but needs a bit of user input.
Stretching of the text without blocking the Rails at the top and bottom to the top is the first problem, but you can get round that with content aware scale.
- Fixed the text and the pixelation.
- Drag the rectangular selections on the bottom and at the top of the text and save the selection. (I should probably slip a third selection around the cross bar 'B').
- Select all > Content Aware scale > Protect in the Options bar, and then choose the selection that you have saved. Stretch the text.
- Now just bend fluidly, adjusting the brush size and pressure in function. (I tried other options, but fluidity was the only one which does not soften the edges.)
I would say pretty close to your original.

Are there controls formatting of the text in Captivate 7 (Mac)?
I am very new to Captivate, just downloaded a trial version and I'm trying to format the text.
- So far, I found that I can control spacing, but not in paragraph spacing.
I also have some problems with the formatting of bullet:
- There is a limited choice of characters of the ball - I can't find a way to customize chips, for example by importing an image or using a symbol
- I can't remove the Indent before the chip and the space between the bullet and the text is fixed
- The chip is the same color as the text - I can't find a way to have the gray text and orange balls
Work on a mac, these problems with fleas are important because I found if import Powerpoint slides, the indentation on the balls changes - it is in powerpoint, but false in Captivate, so I really need to find a way to form the reliable text if it is worth persevering with Captivate. Please can anyone suggest alternatives?
Thank you very much.
No available spacing of paragraphs. The only way to do this is to add a hard return between paragraphs and then change the size of line spacing or fonts of it.
You cannot set the spacing before bullets of Captivate is not possible to add your own balls.
The color of the ball is based on the color of the first character immediately after him. You could have a space after the bullet and change the color of it to change the color of the ball.
Another option is to not have your text to chips, make a copy of the text box and then manually add bullets to the copied text box. This way you can get rid of the extra space and what you want to change the color of the bullets. (It is not an ideal solution, but it would give you more flexibility if that is what you need.

I want to change the text in Captivate after import PowerPoint slides
Hello
Background: I import slides from a .pptx file. Once the slide is created inside Captivate, I want to change the text in the slide, but I can't. It became part of the background. So, I'm left with two options: 1) open the .pptx file, change the text, and then re-import the slide 2) manually create everything on the slide inside Captivate. This means a lot of work. I was hoping that Captivate 7 would solve this, but what seemed possible could address - high fidelity - is not available for mac. I'm sure that others have this problem too.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hello
Yes, I also never create presentations in PPT, but when my clients want an e-Learning course developed, they almost always send me a PPT - UGH. I'll just recreate each slide manually, because I have to have Captivate to all its other powerful tools. Thanks for your response!

Poor published the quality of the text in Captivate 4
When I insert text captions in Captivate 4 and make schedules for the text elements and then do a preview, the text seems fine. But when I publish a SWF, text captions horrible look - fuzzy characters, cut, etc. The rest of the text I imported PowerPoint seems very well, it is just the text caption material that looks ugly.
And is there another way to get the text elements appears at once when you import PowerPoint? I made custom in PPT and imported animations, but Captivate 4 seems to lose or ignore them...
Thank you!
Hello
Are your slides of text captions, or you use images behind them?
If you use Images behind them (Blue Adobe, Adobe red, etc.) My guess is that you simply open the raw SWF and she is scaling regardless of the size of the browser is open.
If the legends are transparent, you probably see the Anti-aiasing. Unfortunately I can't tell you exactly where, because my Captivate 4 stopped working, and Adobe has not had to once again still fits.
But there is a global setting in Edition > Preferences (somewhere in one of the many nooks and crannies) where you are able to choose if the anti-aliasing occurs.
Otherwise, if it's just one or two, try to position the cursor at the end of the text on the caption and press ENTER. Then add a ball to the last line. Size simply the legend, and then if you do not see the ball.

Studies have been conducted on legibility and readability the caps text. Some scientific tests of the twentieth century indicates that all caps text is less readable and less readable than the text to lower case. Colin Wheildon said there is an '' apparent consensus '' tiny text is more readable.

Application of color on the text or the origins, widows Panel eject
I'm learning Dreamweaver, by following the tutorial videos, when you apply the color on the text or the background on dream weaver styles.css, on properties, the Panel of widows will not eject. I click with the mouse on the two places (text or background color) and nothing appears, only the area to enter the color code.
But in the gradient background, the color window returns to its position.
Why I feel this inconsistency?
Thank you!
Predefined CSS classes to add colors to the text.
By example, in your style sheet add:
teach {}
color: Red;
make-weight: bold
}
HTML:
Class = 'important' > this text is red and bold.
This text is the default style.
You can choose Classes from the HTML properties panel. See screenshot.

Application of effects to the Group of objects in a floating frame - fail.
Hi, I do not know if someone has encountered this... I have a group of images (rating music, so black on white in fact) in a floating frame.
I have a textured background, and I want to knock out the white in the pictures to let the background show through. Effect of obscuring should work, and on "static" images (not in a scrolling frame), it is very good. But I tried to apply the effect to the framework itself; in the Group of objects; the individual objects. All the methods of good air in InDesign, but when previewing the content viewer, I can see the effect didn't, uh, indeed. This project is directed to iOS, and I'm assuming that the content viewer gives a fairly accurate glimpse?
And I don't want to get into the clipping paths or alpha channels, but if there is a better way to knock out white, I would be very grateful for the entry. Screenshots show (left), InDesign Content Viewer (right). Thank you very much!

Blend modes are not compatible between overlays and static content. You will need to re-think this or find a way to get this content to have a transparent background. Where did this come from?

There are two editable texts (unrasterized/editable)... The two applied shadow effects... They are very close together, so the shadow effect over top of the lower layer on layer.
What should I do to hide this shadow while keeping the two editable texts?
Sorry I'm not that good at English, please ask what information I should I provide in addition to the problem...
Thank you, Vish.
Group the two layers turn off the shadows on the layers and add the style to the group.

After Udating all the text missing in the player Application
After you install the latest player Adobe in XP SP3, I noticed that whenever I want to print the print dialogue box of IE8 is missing all the text for the buttons, labels, etc. Then, I went to open the player to change the settings and the entire application lacks any of the text, including the title bar, buttons, labels, everything would have all text is completely empty. I tried to uninstall, running own Adobe and reinstall, all with no effect. Someone suggested the police Segoe UI is perhaps missing, and after the installation of those it is without effect. Then I uninstalled 11 and installed version 10. After that my IE would go at all, he begins to Flash on the screen and disappear. I had to uninstall the reader just to get my browser to run again. I really hope someone has a solution for this soon.
Thank you
PS: Adobe has any real Reader tech support?
Since the last update of the player took place at the same time as Windows Update, it is possible that the combination of those that might have caused your problem.
If I had the same problem (which I don't have on any of my XP system), I would
- uninstall Adobe Reader
- perform a restore of the system to a time before the reader / Windows Update
- Install the latest version of the player
then check if the drive works normally. If so, run Windows Update.

How to create this effect of shadow to the text?
Hi all
I don't know what I should call him, but I've seen a number of this shadow effect behind the text 'SALE' and always wondered how to do this.
I tried to mix the tool with text copied to 45 degrees, but it doesn't seem to work.
Is the pen tool to create the shape manually the only way to do it? or is there another way?
Thanks in advance!
