I am running HP - UX, I can't get success in the application of the opatch, why he wouldn't?

Yes, because at the moment you are uzipping the Opatch utility.
There is no need to do anything else with it. Just unzip and you're - ready to use.

The same information can be obtained from the readme:
How to install the utility:
---------------------------
To install this patch simply extract the zipped file
use unzip or winzip, depending on the platform. You must extract
the zip directly under the ORACLE_HOME.

To check the version of the opatch utility installed in step above,
go to the OPatch directory and run 'version opatch.

  • CPU12.1.0.2.3 opatchauto failed with error code 255.

I want to install the 12.1.0.2.3 critical update (April 15, 2015) for the independent network on Linux Infrastructure.  It fails with the error code of subject and the following additional messages:.

The user is root. OPatch cannot continue if the user is root.

opatchauto failed with error code 255.

These instructions specifically tell me to log in as root before installing the patch, so what happens?

The instructions show all first update OPatch later, that I've done and checked.

Secondly, a CMO response file is required, so I followed the steps to create this file and saved as /home/grid/ocm.rsp with the 644 default permissions.

Third, the instructions say to download the patch and unzip it in an empty slot that can not be/tmp.  I created a new/home/grid/foo directory and unpacked the software to this location.  Thus, the location of chilling is/home/grid/foo/and in this directory are only two things: a file named PatchSearch.xml and a directory named 20485724.

Fourth, the readme indicates the patch must be installed by a user with root privileges, so I logged as root.  (Oracle ) Note 1591616.1 said to connect as root, not only be as root).

As root I set environment variable for ORACLE_HOME pointing to the home of GI, and I set PATH = $PATH: $ORACLE_HOME/bin: $ORACLE_HOME/OPatch.

Finally, I call opatchauto with the required parameters and get an error saying I can't be root.  I fussed with the parameters and the result is always that I can not be root.

    Documentation,.

Case 3: Patch only IG home

You must use the following instructions if you prefer at patch Oracle GI (grid Infrastructure) only with this patch.

Case 3.1: Welcome IG no shared

If IM home is not shared, then use the following instructions to patch the House.

3.1.1 case: ACFS file system is not configured

Follow these instructions in this section if IM home is not shared and none of the Oracle database houses using the filesystem ACFS to its software files.

Do the following on each node in the cluster.

    As user root, run:

    # opatchauto apply <UNZIPPED_PATCH_LOCATION>/%BUGNO% -oh <GI_HOME> -ocmrf <ocm response file>

    My order is,

    opatchauto applies/home/grid/foo/20485724-oh /u01/app/12.1.0.2/grid - ocmrf /home/grid/ocm.rsp

So, not a problem of syntax.  It simply doesn't let me run as root despite this being a difficult requirement.

The problem was due to a 32-bit version of OPatch installed on our Linux 64-bit server.  After we installed the correct OPatch the error disappeared.

The shift occurred because the OPatch link download in the Readme for the edition of 6 bits points to a 32-bit version of the download OPatch PSU and CPU patches.  Not sure why a readme for 64-bit software made us in a 32-bit download file, but we know now to double check everything.

  • Problem with 11.1.2.2.104 patch applies

    Hello

We use essbase 11.1.2.2 on windows server 2008 R2. Now, apply 11.1.2.2.104 patch server. We followed under process:

    1 stop essbase services

    2. go to the Opatch directory in command prompt

    3 Ran below command:

    opatch.bat apply C:/Hyperion/Middleware/EPMSystem11R1/Opatch/17277740-oh C:/Hyperion/Middleware/EPMSystem11R1 - jre C:, Hyperion, Middleware, jdk160_29

    But we got error like:

The Oracle Home path specified is relative path.

Opatch cannot operate with relative oracle home path, please specify the absolute path.

Opatch failed with the error code 1

You have no idea why it failed?

While installation, the name of essbase kept home directory as C:/Hyperion/Middleware. What is the question?

    Concerning

    SB

Try putting slashes the correct way for windows if:

    apply opatch.bat C:\Hyperion\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\Opatch\17277740-oh C:\Hyperion\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1 - jre C:\Hyperion\Middleware\jdk160_29

    See you soon

  • apply the 12419392 patch

    Hi guys,.

    I'm running on RHEL5.

    I get the error ORA-00600, ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [kcblasm_1], [103].

When I check in my support I get this note ID 232594.1, which shows that it is a bug that needs the update Patch 10.2.0.5.4 (Patch 12419392) or power supply later where the bug is corrected.

I downloaded the patch said, but when I run the opatch I get this error:

I've followed this the patch readme:

    Unzip p12419392_10205_ < platform > .zip
    CD 12419392
    opatch apply

    But I get this error:

    -bash: opatch: command not found

I searched an opatch on the server and found here:

    /u101/app/Oracle/Oracle/product/10.2.0/Db_1/OPatch/opatch

    Then I tried this:

    /u101/app/Oracle/Oracle/product/10.2.0/Db_1/OPatch/opatch applies

    But I get this error:
