• Replace the library with another library item

  I created a new footer which is used as a component of the library throughout my site and I would like to replace the old library with the new item. I know that I could copy the code of the new element of the library in the former, but I would have preferred to keep the old file even. This kind of thing was easy in GoLive, is there a way to do this in DreamWeaver?

  Rename it to something like filename_old12 - 08.lbi
  Click on no to any update
  Then rename the exact file that former name did the new library item.
  -> Then dw menu edit-> library-> pages of updated items

• Why Flash does not generate the names of class not valid for library items?

  I imported a bunch of bitmaps (png).  Library symbol names included the full name of the file and its extension.  When I check "export for actionscript" he generates a class name based on the name of the symbol, and it includes the ".png", even if it is not valid in a class name.

  When I select several bitmaps and choose Properties and export for actionscript, this is a note saying that classnames will be automatically generated for all elements, but it does the same thing... including the ".png" in all class names.  Is this a problem?  It wouldn't save time if Flash would automatically deprive the the name of the instance of bitmap library symbol file extension when generating names of classes?

  Hi James,

  It's how he used to work in Flash CS 6 in which the name of the class generated automatically for any library item used to be the same as the element. Then, you will need to manually fix the name if necessary.

  This behavior has been changed in Flash CC. The names of classes are now generated correctly (special characters are removed, the names of symbols from wit a number get preceded by an underscore and for all bitmaps the extension line getting undress the class name). You can always change the classnames manually based on your naming convention.

  It's a very good reason to use includes instead of the elements of Lib.  With contains, you can just edit and update a file only on your server and it will appear on all of your pages without having to also download all these pages themselves!  If you ever want to convert the instructions Include library hours (just a small part of the conversion total strive so!) I offer a free called DW Extension, suitably enough divaFreeTools:

  It sounds like a question that we should already have set by which the parent pom com.oracle.maven:oracle - common: 12.1.3 - 0 - artifact 0:pom has the extension of car-ahc Sonatype configured (we did our test in early retirement with this car).  I just looked at the https://www.oracle.com/content/secure/maven/content/com/oracle/maven/oracle-common/12.1.3-0-0/oracle-common-12.1.3-0-0.pom

  and have verified that the extension pulling in the wagon-ahc is not there.  I am very interested to understand what is pulling in an extension of the wagon-ahc and remove for you get the appropriate wagon-http wagon.  Feel free to contact me privately so that I can get more information from you.  My email address is robert patrick at oracle dot com dot

  Please note that FMW 12.1.3 out initially using Maven 3.0.5.  While most of the plugins works without using Maven 3.2.5, changes you might encounter problems with a few plugins because of the disruptive changes made in Maven 3.1.0 when they passed their implementation of Ether starting from Sonatype to eclipse (which broke a lot of existing Maven plugins).

  Hey Dave

  You could paste the lines for these CSS elements you have in the CSS but also how your loading the css.

  IF you have several CSS or CSS class items are in a @import (a file css etc) it will not work.

  Also before that, try to clear the cache, log out, clear the cookies from domain for the site and reconnect. That sort? If this isn't the case, then do the foregoing.

• Problem with the library item

  I edited the library main menu item, remove a section dealing with the "Pub food", which is now obsolete and needs new data.

  When it I spotted in a browser, it seemed strange.  So I removed the <!---->, to return to the previous version.  When I clicked the "Update" option, it updated the site, and 'fact' was shown.

  But ONLY the Index and the pages accessed directly from the top menu page have been updated.

• How to hide the classes in the library

  I'm developing a new project of library flex with the following design requirements:

  * api design using logical packages for clarity, etc.

  * api does not expose private/internal classes

  Using the modifier class "internal" prevents me to organize the api in packs of logics.

  I believe you can "hide" the classes through the use of namespaces, but I have not found all the samples that apply to classes, only functions.

  Can someone help me out here?

  Namespaces don't hide classes (as I know).  I know not NDA you could put a class in a custom namespace (ala mx_internal).

  But, you can use the excludeClass metadata to prevent a class to appear in the code hinting.  There are many examples of this in the Flex Framework.  I think it is a bound the DateChooser CalendarLayout class you can dig up for example.

  I was work with/around and dodging a situation where I am trying to access Active FLA library movieclip, but NOT from the document class. I take advantage of this because it's my 4th forum announcement. I know the answer to this one:

  So please, stay with me...

  The easiest way to access the items in the library of a subclass appears to be this:

  However, it does not appear. I tried a fake nonexistent class. It gave me an error so I know it refers to a class in the library that I provided. If I trace the object, it will appear. If I trace the value of X, it says 0. So logically, it should be right in front of me... but he's not here!  LOL so... I'm on the right track? Is - this familiar to all, anyone? Is there something that I am missing?

  You would be a great help if I could reference the elements of the library FLA with a bit of freedom to the document class. Go to the top of the class hierarchy tree each time to retrieve a movieclip becomes quite painful.

  Although I am not following your example.  Suppose you have a movieClip in your library called Train and there is a graph of a train.  Let us also assume that I went through the steps to make loans to export (binding dialog box properties export for ActionScript checked.  Readings of the class field: Train) I want to create a new Train at my stage of in a subclass.

• Error 5000: The class 'Particle' must subclass 'flash.display.MovieClip' because it is linked to a symbol in the library of this type.

  Running Flash CS3, I looked at the tutorial from lynda.com on strengthening the systems of particles in ActionScript 3.0 to create a few sparks shooting in an animation.  I'm stuck to what I think is a point really basic, but I can't seem to cross it.  Basically, all I'm doing at this point is to create a class called particle (that I'll learn to do things that the particles to make a little later) bind it to a MovieClip on the stage in my .fla file and use the function to update the particle to move it around the stage in a way defined in the instance (so I can later give properties of different movement to) each as an instance generated the MC).  I know there are easier ways to accomplish my basic task without loading an external module, but this seems to makes it so I have to hurt something very simple, that I can't see so I thought I'd post the code here and see what I'm missing.

  I start with a file called Particle.as in the same folder as my file Test.fla Spark.

  So, I declare that all the particles are built with no movement, but if they are explicitly granted an x or y velocity, they will pass by there a lot when updating the instance function is called in the timeline panel.

  Then in my file Test.fla spark, I have a small shape in a MovieClip called Spark.  In the properties of binding of spark, I chose to export for ActionScript and export in first frame.  The class is called Spark and the Base class is the particle.  For testing purposes, I dropped an instance on the stage and called spark.  Then in the layer actions in the first image (the timeline is just the spark layer and the layer actions, a long frame each with no "stop();" so it should run forever), I have included the following code:

  spark.yVelocity = - 1;

  function updateSpark(event:Event):void
  {
  Spark.Update ();
  }

  addEventListener (Event.ENTER_FRAME, updateSpark);

  Is what it seems that this should be on every Flash ENTER_FRAME should call updateSpark, which is a function that handles the event update() for the instance of the spark which is a movieclip instance that has an update event that moves x and y of the position of their relative velocity variables.  It seems simple enough to me, but when I ctrl-enter to test the movie, I get the following compiler 3 errors:

  Particle.As line 1: 5000: the class 'Particle' must subclass 'flash.display.MovieClip' because it is linked to a symbol in the library of this type.

  Particle.As line 7:1071: syntax error: expected a keyword (for example function definition) after the public attribute, not xVelocity.

  Particle.As line 7:1084: Syntax error: expecting rightbrace before the semicolon.

  Since I imported flash.display. * and declares the class public particle so it extends MovieClip I have no idea why I get this error of 5000.  I see this issue come up a lot when searching Google and forums, but none of the resolutions that I could find have suggested an approach that applies to me or solve the problem.

  Any help to fix this would be appreciated.  I enclose a zip of the FLA a files as described above in case there is something in the settings of publication that I messed up inadvertently.  In addition, if you can get this to compile without error, then the problem may be due to my Flash CS3 Pro install which will result in the problem isn't with my code and start looking at me in a different direction.

• blanks around the library items

  I have a problem annoying with DW 8.0.2 for Mac OS X. whenever I update a library item that is framed by spaces in my code, white around it will fade, whenever I have apply the changes to all the pages containing the library item. For example, the code looks like this before the update:
  
  ... "Please <!-#BeginLibraryItem" / Library/register_here.lbi "--> < a href ="... /... / cgi-bin/UMapps/register.pl "> here < /a > <!-#EndLibraryItem > - to get..."
  
  and as this then:
  
  ... "Please <!-#BeginLibraryItem" / Library/register_here.lbi "--> < a href ="... /... / cgi-bin/UMapps/register.pl "> here < /a > <!-#EndLibraryItem > - to get..."
  
  Now the spaces around the library item disappeared...
  
  I could include spaces in the library item, but that would prevent me from using it in a context like this:
  
  ... "All other customers please <!-#BeginLibraryItem" / Library/register_here.lbi "--> < a href ="... /.. / cgi-bin/UMapps/register.pl "> register < /a > <!-#EndLibraryItem > - here."
  
  Is this a bug, or y at - it means to DW to keep spaces?

  I would, if Server Side Includes were not considered a security problem by our (admittedly a bit paranoid) sysop...
  Apart from this, the possibility of using library items is one of the reasons why I use Dreamweaver and I could be
  wrong, but I don't remember having this problem using version 6 (which had other bugs, that's why I've updated...)

  Regarding design flaws: put several library items like these on a line in a paragraph with an alignment justified, and you will get the lines that contain a word at the beginning of the line, a comma and a single word ending in line, according to the
  width of the browser window, which may not be a big deal, but can be easily avoided by not using not s...

  I get the message "Some of the items in the iTunes library were not copied to the iPod because they cannot be played on iPod."  The listed songs have always copied, sync would and played on my iPod. My iPod is old, but I've never had this message before. Go listen to songs on my Mac.

  This looks like what happened a few weeks ago.  I quit iTunes, then he revived.  The problem disappeared and has not returned.
