  I have read through a couple of threads and followed the instructions to turn on 'custom' on my HP Photosmart 6510 all-in-one printing. I loaded the driver of HP Deskjet 450, which finally allows me to select a custom size of 5.5 "x 8.25". I'm trying to print on wedding invitations response cards. Wedding invitations made the same paper 5 X and can be printed without adding a new printer driver for the 6510.

  Now that I can get the printer driver (deskjet 450) to recognize the custom format 5.5 "x 8.25" but I can't print. I use a model of design by Staples and get the following errors.

  Errors - the margins of Section 1 are set beyond the printable area of the page. Do you want to continue? I pushed Yes and the printer tries to print the job abd I get the error "paper mismatch". The printer actually determined the size of the paper when I adjusted the paper tray to accommodate custom size paper.

  Troubleshooting - I tried to adjust the margins, but I have little ability to adjust in the template provided. When I adjusted the margins, I always get the error "paper mismatch".

  Any ideas on how to do more troubleshooting?

  Please retry the procedure which should solve the problem below.

  (if the printer is connected with USB)

  Click START > device and printer > add a printer > add a local printer >

  Select "Use existing Port" then Virtual USB from the drop-down menu, click on NEXT, in the production list, select HP / Hewlett-packard and in the right pane, select Deskjet 6980 and finish the wizard

  OR

  (if the printer is networked)

  Click START > device and printer > add a printer > add a local printer > choose "Create a new Port" > type in the printer IP address click NEXT, in the manufacture of the list, select HP / Hewlett-packard and in the right pane, select Deskjet 6980 and finish the wizard

  Greetings!  I'm a newbie on this forum.  I have a printer HP Photosmart 7510 with several applications installed.  I would like to add the analysis by email app found in the section business of HP app collection, but when I enter the ID of my printer, I get a message that it is not supported by my printer.  Some applications are only supported by some models of printers?  I was able to add apps directly from the touchscreen of my printer, but the one I want is not included in these selections.  Any ideas?  Thank you!

  Hi there and welcome to the Forum it is true that not all applications are available on all printers. If the application does not show depending on the availability of the part of the façade or ePrintCenter account it is not available for your printer. Sorry about that.

  If you are looking for editable text scans, you can buy OCR software that will allow you to scan to the editable document.

  After having read the HP - compatible printers Windows 10 printers list @ http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04658195 , it says that my HP Photosmart 7660 is not supported by Windows 10 and there is no additional options.

  Does anyone know of an HP generic or other certified printer driver that will work for the printer HP Photosmart 7660 with Windows 10?  I got my printer HP Photosmart 7660 since 2004 and it is the best printer I've ever owned, and I hate the idea of not being able to use this printer if I upgrade my computer to Windows 10.

  Finally, I bit the bullet and upgraded my computer Windows 7 HP for Windows 10. None of the suggestions listed in the HP forums to be able to use another driver with Windows 10 has worked for me. Some got to the printer, but any suggestions that would get to the printer the printer print pages additional and acting as a print job was sent to the printer. Then I tried something different and it worked!

  Here are the steps I took to get my old HP Photosmart 7660 printer yet faithful to work properly with Windows 10.

  Since the page devices and printers in Control Panel...

  1) click on add a printer

  (2) click on the printer that I want isn't listed

  (3) select Add a local printer with manual settings

  (4) select use an existing port and change the option in USB001

  5) click the Windows Update button to update the list of drivers and printer available

  (6) Select manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard

  (7) select Printers: series HP Photosmart 7760

  (8) enter the name of the printer: HP Photosmart 7660

  It works for me with Windows 10 and the bonus is that the advanced options are more that you want or need. No thanks to HP for not providing a suggestion valid works to their customers who need a Windows 10 print driver to use with their old HP Photosmart 7660 printer.

  Follow the steps below and check if it solves the problem:

  1 open the Mcafee Virus and Spyware Protection software you are interested in, click on calendar and perform analyses. Click analysis in real time, and then click stop. Select until I restart the PC and confirm by clicking the button turn off.

  Now, try to reinstall the HP software and check if the installation goes as planned.

  If the problem persists, continue following the steps below:

  2. open the dialog box run by clicking on the Windows key and the R key on your keyboard. Type %windir%, and then click OK.
  3. type hpoins*.dat in the search bar at top, if there is that no result rename the extention in old instead of dat. (e.g. hpoins1.old)
  4. type hpwins*.dat in the search bar at top, if there is that no result rename the extention in old instead of dat. (e.g. hpwins1.old)
  5. start the Run dialog box by clicking the Windows key and the R key on your keyboard. Type MSIEXEC /Unregister. in the Run dialog box and click OK.

  7. run the installation file and check all difference.

  When you print a document in color of our family of Windows 7 PC to our new printer networked WiFi from HP Photosmart 5520 I find no option to print in grayscale (quite a usual demand when you print a copy for reference).   Thanks for the advice, but it is not really relevant, there is no wifi comm errors.  My wireless access point is not part of the router and the network wifi, as well as my home ethernet network is inside the firewall.  The printer receives an IP address very well, I have a reserved for her on my dhcp server address (same as I do for my sky box, tv etc.). It works fine for everything except customers also wifi. So direct print jobs internet, wifi works from iDevices, printing from a working client wired network, but a client who, also on wifi, falls down. It is a single subnet lan with some addresses reserved and others from a pool.  I made a little chart - the DHCP server is actually in the firewall, which is a computer card. In this case, the laptop also has a reseved for lan and wifi addresses. I have disabled the firewall windows on the home network.
